Rigorous, thorough preparation. No short cuts, but it will definitely prepare you for the exam--especially if you are willing to put in the work. Your score will definitely show significant improvement--again if you do the work. And that's the way it should be.

My instructor, Hemanth, was very good, had very thorough knowledge of the exam and had apparently been teaching the prep course for a long time. Additionally and perhaps most importantly, he was sincerely concerned with our success as students and is a full-time school teacher for his day job (obviously good training for teaching a prep class).

Manhattan GMAT also has great resources for taking practices exams--which probably cannot be emphasized too much--giving you as close to the real experience as possible--and up to like 6 times.

Let's see...Manhattan also has very good online resources. I'm sure their website can describe it better than me.

Their study guides are very thorough, more thorough than the Kaplan guides I've seen. When you sign up for the class, they mail you a box full of study guides--and you are expected to go through approx. 3/4 of them.

If you're serious about a good score and willing to put in some work take Manhattan--just my personal opinion and experience.

Manhattan GMAT's 9-week prep course was a great program. I began my studying quest about 4 months prior to signing up for Manhattan's class. This beginning entailed purchasing a prep book and spending about an hour every other night reading through it. After a few months, this clearly wasn't working and I signed up for Manhattan's class. The class did a great job at not only re-introducing all of the quant/verbal topics you haven't seen since high school, but also teaching strategies on how to approach each type of question and difficulty level.

My teacher at Manhattan GMAT was also great. He had a very firm grasp on all subject matter and laid out very realistic goals for accomplishing practice work. Overall, the combination of a very smart and encouraging teacher, a well structured study/practice regiment, and expansive internet resources allowed me to succeed on the GMAT.

The program is certainly recommended to anyone else looking for that push to finally get the studying done and sit for the test.

I took the Manhattan GMAT 9-session online course over a period of nine weeks because I am currently working in China. Although worried at first that I wouldn't learn as much through the online course as an in-person course, I am very pleased with the results of my online course. My instructors (Brett and Tim) were both very knowledgeable about the content they were teaching and you could tell they prepared for each class thoroughly. They also very well-informed about the actual CAT exam itself and gave helpful tips on how to manage one's time on the test. I am sure that I would not have done as well as I did on the test without their test-taking advice.

Manhattan GMAT also offers fantastic resources for their students. The CAT exams are very similar to the actual test and, in my case, a good predictor of your score on test day. I also really appreciated the notes for each class and the question banks. All in all, I am very satisfied with my Manhattan GMAT experience and would strongly recommend this course to those who want a practical and streamlined GMAT prep course.

Manhattan GMAT provides a comprehensive approach to studying for the GMAT.

They syllabus is a bit intimidating in the brute amount of information in contains, but if you diligently work through it over the course of a few months you'll definitely get improved results.

Tom Rose is a fantastic teacher. His explanations were clear and he's very funny as well.

I also heavily utilized "Thursdays with Ron", which is actually free to anyone. These thorough and difficult sessions significantly helped me with Quant.

Expert instructor and concrete strategies to help you achieve a high score

I would highly recommend the in person Manhattan course for anyone who knows they want/need to achieve a 700's score to get in to the schools they are targeting. I did some research and asked around about other courses and the most positive I kept hearing about was Manhattan, minus the cost. It is expensive, but in my eyes it was worth it because I had heard success stories from others and I knew I needed a top score.

The bottom line is that Manhattan couples harder than average practice questions/tests with pretty legit and specific test taking and problem solving strategies for the GMAT to basically help ensure that you are going to achieve the best score your intelligence will allow, and likely higher because of all the tricks. The in person class was great, the instructor was incredibly smart but had a knack for making sure that you understood the "half ass" ways to do the most difficult problems and increase your chances. I really felt like I benefited from being there in person and getting the perspective of someone who was successful themselves (they are not shy about proclaiming that all teachers scored 99th percentile).

The books themselves are very good and many will recommend just to buy those whether or not you take the course. If you're tight on money that might not be a bad idea, because you get access to their online tests if you simply purchase a book. The books help give the same unique way of tackling all the different problem types that they discuss in class. But like I said, I think the class was valuable, but that is just me. The explanations of the official guide practice problems are also infinitely better than in the official guide itself.

The online practice tests were helpful as well because they are MUCH more difficult than the actual GMAT, so they help you push yourself and force you to get better by pinpointing areas you should work on, timing issues, etc...

Overall the course helped force me to push myself, do the practice, come to class, and ultimately know the best way to tackle the whole process. Expert advice every step of the way (I forgot to mention they have free 30 min virtual sessions with professors every week you can sign up for. I did these a few times and they helped as well).

If you are someone who knows they want a top score, I would highly recommend it. The first class is usually free, try it once and see if you like the instructor. Cheers.

I went to many different instructors based on scheduling conflicts and the teaching styles are wildly different. I needed more help with math and my first teacher loved teaching english. Make sure you look into the teachers first.

I'm a relative slacker that doesn't often find himself impressed with teaching styles or curriculum, and rarely find myself walking away changed from a particular class.

The Manhattan GMAT course, however, taught me an abundance of information, and I left feeling charged and confident about best ways to take the gmats, as well as more knowledgeable about the material itself - both math and verbal.

My instructor was phenomenal, and I would (and have) wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone.

Manhattan GMAT helped me get 700+ score in a short amount of time

Manhattan GMAT helped me get above a 700 in a short amount of time. Jon Schneider was a great instructor - easy to follow and always kept the class engaged.

I enrolled and started a 9-week prep class a week after the class had started and took the GMAT a week before my last scheduled class. Manhattan GMAT allowed me to take make-up classes until I got on schedule and reschedule the last class so I could take it before the test. I did not take a practice GMAT until my 2nd or 3rd week of class and had never even seen a GMAT problem before the course - the course went over each type of question and a strategy and a few ways to approach each problem.

Although I am a very bad at standardized tests, started the class knowing I would not be able to commit the recommended amount of time, and worked way more than full-time during it, my instructor - Jon Schneider - just kept encouraging me and even helped me decide what was important when I fell behind. He made sure that the class fully understood the problems discussed and was always willing to stay to explain a problem. It was clear that he really wanted all of us to do well and really like teaching the course. The materials were a great way to refresh the math & verbal skills that I had not used for years. The website/student center was filled with resources including practice tests that allow you to assess exactly what specific topics you really need to work on, online seminars that address specific problem types & strategies, free access to the GMAT essay grading tool, and a lot of other things I did not even get around to but am sure would have helped me even more.

I knew I needed a class to give me the structure, work assignments/materials, and motivation to study with such little time and am glad I chose Manhattan GMAT. I don't think another course could have prepared me with the limited amount of time I had to commit. The Manhattan GMAT course helped identify what to focus on and breaks down the material in an organized fashion. I would seriously consider the course even if you don't think you have the recommended amount of time to commit.

I work 70-80 hours/week at a tech startup and simply did not have the time to figure out what I needed to focus on studying for the GMAT. I signed up specifically for this course so I could exceed a 700 GMAT score and manage my time effectively.

Manhattan GMAT gives you all of this. You receive more than enough textbook material to bury yourself in studying for months, but the instructors and course structure really help distill the essentials for you.

My instructor, Kim Cabot, is a fantastic teacher and I found the energy she brought to the classroom as valuable as her excellent pacing and delivery of the material. She was always able to explain even the most advanced quant questions clearly, and I really valued her advice on sentence correction (PIMPSCV!)

The course was very educational and each week built on the foundation learned in a prior week. It is very important to do the work between classes. If you do the work, it really supplements the lectures well and you will see your score improve!

One thing to be aware of - there are a ton of resources available via Manhattan GMAT, the tricky part is navigating them all and figuring out what to use and what works best for you. I'd suggest sitting down with your instructor at the start of the class to figure out what they all are an what they recommend to use and how.

Good luck!
