Fantastic Course

I've been studying for the GMAT intermittently and continued to push back my test date as I was never able to reach my target score on mock exams. My original approach was to drill OG questions, and although that allowed me to become more familiar with the GMAT, I never felt I like I was testing myself with same level of difficulty as the actual exam. TTP was a game changer for me and helped to drive the score improvements that I was looking for. The program was instrumental in structuring my study approach and pinpoint my weaker subject areas, allowing me to shore up difficult concepts and drive rapid content mastery. I mostly focused on Quant as I was already fairly comfortable with Verbal, but both sections are well organized and the lessons are very digestible. The SC section in particular highlighted concepts that I was not privy to before, which in turn increased my Verbal score pass expectations when I had already mentally "settled" on the section. Highly recommend the course.

Target Test Prep Accelerated Review

TTP Quant took my quant score from a 28 to a 49 within a month. I have a STEM background which helps, but the chapter tests were extremely effective at pin pointing my weaknesses and allowing me to focus on those. I studied in total for about 3 months and couldn't have improved my score as much without TTP. I plan to retake the GMAT and continue using TTP to study. If you have any questions or problems, their service is extremely responsive and quick. I couldn't recommend any other GMAT study prep more.

I needed to improve my quant score, which is why I chose TTP. They have a program specific to quant. After taking the diagnostic test, you get a study plan.

The way I attacked the curriculum is I focused on going through all the textbook chapters (which cover every single kind of problem you could possibly see on GMAT quant). Then I would emphasize the "easy" and "medium" practice tests, because TTP says what separates the good from great is not the ability to get easy questions right but the inability to get the easy questions wrong.

This seemed to ring true because I finished the whole textbook and 2/3 of the practice problems (I did 1640, totaling over 33hrs of working problems) and proceeded to score in the middle of my target range.

The lessons are so clear. The curriculum is easy to follow. The solutions make sense. And Scott and Jeffrey respond to emails.

I wouldn't try any other study plan.

I took a chance on Target Test Prep because it was highly regarded by people on this forum, and it did not disappoint in the slightest. If you're looking for a go-to resource for Quant improvement, look no further than TTP. Firstly, the course is extremely reasonably priced. (I used their Flexible GMAT? Preparation Plan due to time constraints, but the other options deliver even better value per month.) The TTP interface was clean and engaging, making the learning of quant concepts (dare I say) fun! The TTP team was exceedingly responsive to course content questions and Jeff in particular was an advocate for my success as I prepared for success. I only wish TTP had a verbal course -- if TTP ever develops one it's game over for other GMAT prep services.

I signed up for the Target Test Prep service for a quick brush-up prior to my GMAT exam. I had previously taken the exam and scored well in verbal, but needed a serious quant boost!

After reading multiple reviews, I went with Target. I had my exam coming up in about a month, and needed some intensive core skills review + practice problems. The 'chapters' available on Target were an awesome way to walk through fundamentals. There was even an option for 'accelerated practice' which lets you focus on slightly more complex material.

The practice tests were comprehensive, testing a whole slew of possible GMAT areas. The answer explanations were thorough. There were also video explanations which I found super helpful.

The team was super responsive to any questions I had - both material-wise and customer service-wise.

Overall, I'd highly recommend.. especially if you need to focus in on quant over a short period of time! My score was much more balanced after studying with Target. Thanks Scott and team!

I went from a 670 to a 700. My quant went from a 39 to a 44. The program is affordable, the coursework is logically organized, comprehensive, and the videos provide detailed explanations of how to solve every type of problem you will encounter on the GMAT. The program covers just about every type of problem you will see on the GMAT quant section. I only took one math class in college, and I majored in Chinese, so if I can understand the material well enough to improve my quant, anyone can. If you follow the program as it is designed, your quant score will improve.

For a reasonable price, TTP offers TONS of material. It's a highly structured and organized program that really helps to refine your quant skills. Whether you're a naturally high scorer or someone with a lot of room to improve, Target Test Prep offers a strong system to help boost your score.

Personally, I used TTP for one month (a bit rushed - to really take advantage of the resource, I'd recommend at least 2 months), and saw a pretty decent improvement. I scored a 45Q on my first test and managed to bump it up to a 47Q through TTP. Though, I think I under performed on test day, as I was getting 49Q on practice tests.

Through thousands of practice problems and thorough explanations of all the concepts you'll see on the GMAT, Target Test Prep is a great resource to hone your skills.

Best Quant Course!

TTP is by far the best course I've taken. Before using them, I spent hours using other tutorials (Manhattan Prep, Official GMAT Guide 2018) and practice problems and didn't even see improvements. I signed up for the $1 trial, and after few hours I knew it would be worth $99 per month. After two months of use, I got my quant score from 38 to 49.

The Target Test Prep software is well designed and has a structured approach to understanding the basics concepts tested in the GMAT. They have tons of examples and practice problems and consistently reenforce past material. TTP tracks the amount time, type of question, and concept test and lets you customize tests to help you address any weaknesses. On the GMAT, most questions followed a similar pattern tested by TTP.

Without a doubt, I wouldn't have been able to get a 730 without TTP. Easily the best $200 I've spent.

The only quant course you need

I began studying for the GMAT with materials from Manhattan, McGraw Hill, Magoosh, and the Official Guide questions. On my first crack at the real exam, I did not meet my target score. I was considering other very expensive options like the MGMAT in-person course or private tutoring, but a friend recommended Target Test Prep and it ended up being the perfect course for me.

The course overall is very well-designed, both in terms of the actual curriculum and also the UX. It leads you through very methodical coverage and practice of the material, building on the concepts so that you retain all of the earlier chapters. I also really liked the Analytics features that made it easy to keep track of the average amount of time I was spending on each problem, and what kinds of problems I got wrong most often. I really wish I had heard of Target Test Prep before I bothered with other materials because I probably could have gotten sufficient preparation with just thi s course and the Official Guide - and it's offered at a very reasonable price too. I even found a promo code online so it was definitely a great value!

True to its name, I was able to hit my target score on the actual exam after going through this course. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a flexible online prep option.

Very Pleased with Target Test Prep!

Target Test Prep was fantastic, I would highly recommend it for anyone trying to increase their GMAT Quant score.

A little background: I'm an electrical engineer, and would consider myself adept at math. However, after taking the multiple practice tests and then the real GMAT, I scored a Q46 leaving me confused and frustrated. I did some research online, and found that others were having similar experiences, so I decided to give TTP a try.

Both Scott and Jeff immediately reached out and we had a phone discussion over my goals and putting together a study plan. I was pressed for time (retaking the GMAT in 3 weeks), so I decided to go through the course as quickly as possible, taking only hard quizzes. If I still struggled on the Quant after this, I would follow the very structured study plan they provided.

Throughout the course, I quickly began to realize the traps I fell into during my first GMAT attempt. TTP does a fantastic job of preparing you for what to expect, and provides ingenious ways to simplify and quickly solve otherwise difficult GMAT quant problems.

Due to a lack of sleep (anxiety kept me up), my second GMAT test experience didn't go as smoothly as I'd hoped. However, even with the struggles (I was exhausted), I still managed to improve my Quant score to a 49! Imagine if I could have focused/ I had worked through the full study plan they provided.

Even with a short study time, TTP was able to significantly improve my Quant score. I would highly recommend it to all that are struggling with the Quant section, whether that be due to lack of math skills or just struggling with the format. You will definitely see your scores improve.

They really go above and beyond at TTP, and Scott is genuinely invested in seeing your GMAT score increase. He has reached out to me multiple times, and offered very beneficial advice. He also sends out newsletters detailing other beneficial MBA events. l'll be attending the CenterCourt MBA conference after hearing about it through TTP!

Best way to rock the Quant Section

July 30, 2018

First of all, I want to say how excited I am to be writing this review right now. I looked at the course reviews all the time and told myself that once I finally got the score that I wanted that I would write a review to help calm and motivate other GMAT test-takers. Before I began using Target Test Prep, I had been studying for roughly 2 months and seemed to be stuck around a Q44. I've always been pretty good at math so I was a bit shocked when using some of the recommended book series didn't get me to where I wanted to be. I knew that I was capable of a score better than a Q44 and also knew that I needed at least a Q48 to reach the score range that I had set for myself. I began to look around on Beatthegmat and other GMAT related sites to see if there was product that focused solely on the quantitative section of the GMAT and that received consistently good results. After reading the reviews of TTP and learning about the 5 day trial for just $1, I figured it was worth the shot. I was immediately hooked as soon as I began using the platform. It's very intuitive and easy to use. It makes the math simple and easy to understand and includes more practice problems than one could ever possibly need. I did the entire program and answered every problem the course had to offer over the span of about 3 months while simultaneously meeting with Jeff Miller (one of the TTP tutors) once a week. All I can say is that the program works, especially when coupled with Jeff Miller (seriously Jeff is the man and knows how to spot your weaknesses and fix them). If you're willing to put in the time and make the commitment then there is no reason you can't achieve a Q47+ using this program. I'm living proof. Good luck!

For those suffering with solidifying a good quant base, I'd recommend TTP. I mostly stayed true to the study plan they created and painstakingly took notes. There are roughly 22 topics with practice problems. Each chapter took about 2-3 hours to read and do all of the quizzes. The chapter quizzes and practice tests are extremely helpful in testing your understanding. They section questions by Easy, Medium, Hard - which is useful to determine how much time you should be spending on each question and if you've mastered the topic. I definitely would recommend to those of you who have time to dedicate to TTP!

Excellent Online Quant Test Prep Resource

June 21, 2018
  • Teacher:

  • GMAT ScoresBefore: N/A After: 780

I used 3 months of the Flexible Prep package to study for the quant section of the GMAT this year. I am a native English speaker and knew that I was relatively strong at the Verbal section going into my GMAT. However, despite being an engineer, I was relatively unprepared for the quantitative section of the exam. The quant section wants you to think in a very specific way and memorizing certain tricks and formulas can take you very far. I initially started my prep using the Manhattan GMAT books. I went through all of them and realized that I hadn't really retained any of what I read because the practice was not engaging or well structured. It did not force you to review material periodically and didn't provide very many GMAT style problems to practice with. I took a second CAT after reading the books and found that I'd made very little progress.

Enter Target Test Prep. I read the reviews of many online resources before settling on TTP, partially because of the reviews and partially because their price point was MUCH more manageable than other companies. I feel like I got incredible value for money with the package, ultimately boosting my score from 690 (first CAT exam) to 780 (official score).

Some of the aspects that I liked most about the Target Test Prep software were its plethora of examples and practice problems, the periodic reviews of past material, and the similarity of the problems to the questions in the GMAT official practice exams and actual exam. The software has 2500 practice problems, testing you on every quant subject imaginable. I finished every practice problem, including re-doing some of them when I felt that I wasn't as solid on a topic. Every few chapters or so, the programs prompts you to review the latest material. This kept me accountable and forced me to build knowledge instead of just memorizing a technique for a few days to forget it several chapters later. I used the written study guides and made note-cards in addition to following the online progression.

After completing the studying, I took the 2 practice exams from GMAC and 4 practice exams from Manhattan Prep. The way questions were worded or structured in the GMAC exams was extremely similar to the way TTP had taught me. On the other hand, Manhattan Prep seemed like it was purposely trying to trick you. On the test day, I saw several problems that were structured in a that was almost identical to what I had studied with TTP.

As my final test score obviously demonstrates, TTP prepared me extremely well for the quantitative section of the exam. I would highly recommend it to anyone who really needs to focus hard on quant and may be stronger or more confident in verbal.

When selecting a course, I was looking for one that would allow me to study at my own pace rather than having to attend a class. I needed the flexibility to move as quickly as possible rather than waiting around for a class session once a week.

There were a number of things I particularly enjoyed about TTP, including the learning analytics, which allowed me to review my studies at a higher level to see where I had gaps. I also found the end of chapter quizzes to be helpful in determining what I needed to review or didn't understand in the first pass of study.

Overall, it was really nicely organized and was really helpful in improving my quant score efficiently.

No-nonsens Quant prep

If you want a prep service/ course that helps you drill inn the basics and fundamentals of GMAT Quant, TTP is the best out there! I used Magoosh and MGMAT in preparation for my first GMAT (700, Q46, V40) and although they are good i did not feel that i mastered the fundamentals at a level that enabled me to fully tackle the hardest problems with confidence. After an intensive month of TTP and 1700 practice questions (!) later i knew that the only thing between me and a high score in quant was seeing the "2min" solution and fully understanding the question, not silly arithmetic mistakes, poor formulation of my algebraic equations or uncertainty when tackling inequalities and scientific notations. It was no longer a question about basic skills, but actual knowledge and fully understanding the question. The second time around i felt confident in the quant section and quickly realized that i did OK just based on the difficulty of the questions in front of me, i screwed up pacing a bit (my inability to quit and give up haunts me) but still managed to secure a Q49 for a 740 total (V42). I would recommend TTP to anyone just starting their prep and who wants to do Quant the right way! A special thank you to Scott at TTP for providing friendly and enthusiastic customer service!

Excellent Experience with TTP

My first attempt at the GMAT resulted in a 640 with a strong verbal score and a low quant score. I was waitlisted from my graduate school of choice and was told I needed to raise my GMAT score to at least 700 to be near my program's average score. I stumbled upon TTP through GMATclub and was immediately attracted by the clean website design and the methodical way in how each topic area of GMAT quant was covered by Scott & team. I was diligent to follow the TTP course calendar exactly as it was laid out; although TTP covers only quant, the course trains you and helps you to develop the analytical mindset that is necessary to score high in verbal as well. After three months of studying intensively with TTP and using only OG Verbal materials, I raised my score from 640 to 730 (and also achieved a significant bump in verbal!). If you are careful to follow TTP as prescribed, and take the time to watch the videos and do ALL the practice problems (as well as do signifi cant work with OG problems), there is a good chance you will see score improvement as I did.

I'm so happy I found out about Target Test Prep!
I was consistently scoring about 43 on the Quant section which was way lower than I wanted.
I am definitely a math person so was really frustrated that I couldn?t seem to bring it up. 2 weeks before my scheduled GMAT my friend told me about TTP, so I decided to check it out. Right away I was able to tell that this site was legit so I pushed back my GMAT 2 more weeks and even set up tutoring sessions with Jeff.

The program is really great, it covers all the important topics and contains really useful formulas and tricks to watch out for in each section. I also found the chapter tests and review quizzes extremely helpful and important. By the time I got to my GMAT date I felt super confident with the Quant and scored a 49! I ended up getting a 690 (target was 700) and am planning on taking it one more time and trying to improve my verbal a bit (got a 35 and know I can bring this up at least 2-3 points).

Anyone who wants to bring up their Quant score should definitely try TTP!

TTP Great for those who struggle with quant

May 1, 2018
  • Teacher: Scott

TTP really drills down into the fundamentals of quant. Most GMAT prep softwares use workarounds or one-off strategies but TTP really forces you to refine your fundamental quant skills. Therefore, TTP requires lost of time and dedication but it's well worth it.

The flexible option is really nice for those who have a full time job and have a decent understanding of how the quant section works on the GMAT. The practice problems did not allow you to use GMAT tricks to solve them, rather the problems forced you to use sound quant skills learned in chapters. Overall, TTP is great for those who feel as though they have gaps in their knowledge from a quant perspective. I would recommend TTP to anyone struggling with Quant especially if they have already taken another course or used other prep material that did not significantly improve their score.

I used to do practice problems for hours but TTP forces you to understand the logic and math behind concepts, which proved to be very helpful. I chose TTP primarily b/c my verbal was strong enough but quant needed work.

TTP builds excellent logic to solve Quant Questions

April 29, 2018

Target Test Prep made a major difference to my GMAT quant score. Before the course, I was mainly scoring around Q40 and was maxing out at Q45, but I knew that if I were to improve in Quant, I would have to find a logical way to understand Quant topics and have a systematic approach to attack problems. I had taken a classroom course and then also completed Quant books of another reputed test prep company, however I could never cross Q45 in any mocks. My goal was to reach at least Q49.

I had taken other courses that did cover the fundamentals but weren?t as comprehensive as TTP. Several other courses I checked out focused mostly on conceptual depth without application or direct problem solving using techniques (i.e. smart numbers, testing answers). What works in Quant is knowing the concept well and ability to apply in a structured manner.

TTP does the following to deserve a big ?Thank You?:
1. Builds excellent conceptual base for every topic. Furthermore, they have covered all possible concepts & Q types in a topic.
2. It provides a logical approach to solve any Question. Each Q has a video as well as text solution.
3. Provides excellent practice by having Chapter Quizzes of varying difficulty level (Easy, Medium & Difficult). Furthermore, there are review Quizzes before beginning every chapter to help in revising the concepts of the previous chapters. Additionally, there are Review Quizzes after a few chapters to solidify concepts in a cluster of chapters. Finally, there are the Global Review to test our entire Quant Ability.
4. The Quiz solutions also help to identify which concept we are lacking and provides an easy reference link to review the pertaining concept.
5. Provides the best dashboard to pinpoint what topics is our weak link area and focus on the same in terms of accuracy, pacing.

Overall, I recommend going through each module at least once and completing all the Quizzes.
I scored a Q49 in my 1st attempt at GMAT.

Regret for not having more time with TTP!

April 24, 2018
  • Teacher: Scott Woodbury-Stewart

  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 710 After: 710

To summarize my review: TTP is awesome!
In only two week of studying with it I increased my Quant score from 47 to 48, but if I had studied with TTP from the beginning, I'm sure I'd hit at least a 50.
I just had a couple of weeks to study using TTP because I had a due date on my second GMAT exam, but studying with TTP was an amazing experience, based on a few things:

1. It actually teaches you math.
I've seen other courses that teach you only a few tricks to get some questions right, but that is not sufficient to get a very high score. TTP has a methodology that ease the learning process to you, so those tricks are only ways to fasten the solving process of a problem that you'll definitely know how to solve if the trick is not enough.

2. It helps you to track your gaps.
After each exam you take, it clearly states what are your main problems, according to question type, theme, and difficulty level. It even conveniently lead you to themes that you should review before advancing on the study plan. After each test, you review your answers and the official solution, and you can mark why you got it wrong. It helps a lot to become more aware of the changes you need in you.

3. It has an "infinite" questions set.
Seriously, I wasn't even near finishing all the practice questions TTP could give me. In addition to questions grouped into themes, it even has a tool to generate customized tests with a lots of parameters for you to choose, such as difficulty, your average response time on related themes, only new/known questions, only questions that you got wrong before, etc.

4. It has an use experience that meets nowadays expectations
Seriously, why there are still courses that makes you use excel spreadsheets or things like that to track your progress? TTP gets that done easily! There's a pretty amazing dashboard that easily gives you the information you need to take the next steps.

5. The customer service is great!
I sent a few messages on the customer support chat and they answered me really fast, even on Sundays! Theses messages were all about my attempts to optimize my use of the tool because I was so short on time. I did not have any problem to use it.

Before the course, I was mainly scoring around Q40, but I knew that if I were to improve I would have to prioritize this section since I was not scoring at a high percentile. I took other courses and managed to score a 620 on my first GMAT attempt (Q43, V 31). While my Verbal was not as high either, I knew that it was important for me to achieve a high quant score since I am looking to switch to a career that values quant highly. My goal was to reach at least Q47.

I initially began taking other courses that did cover the fundamentals, but non were as comprehensive as TTP. Several other courses I checked out focused mostly on techniques (i.e. smart numbers, testing answers), but I knew that understanding the algebraic approach initially would ultimately help facilitate my understanding of the problems to then apply these kinds of techniques. I believe TTP has the best dashboard and comprehensive modules overall, allowing you to customize your own plan depending on how much time you have before your test. Having failed to obtain my target score previously, I decided to take more time to study for about 3 months (the first two dedicated to TTP) until I felt prepared to score highly on my second try. I did study approximately 3 hours a day to go over TTP and I went through each Module twice, initially focusing on understanding the concepts and later focusing on time management for each test on every Module.

Since I started scoring between 47-49 on my practice CATs, I felt more confident but I did schedule a call with Jeff who gave me a couple of tips to make sure that I was ready for my test and immediately booked my exam for 2 weeks after that call. I found that a lot of times there were concepts I found difficult to grasp entirely, but the Must Know page was of great help to focus on what the most important concepts are for the test and relaxed my mind from stressing to have to know every single concept. Overall, I recommend going through each module at least once since I understand that not everyone has time and based on your performance in the diagnostics, focus on your weak areas that are thankfully displayed on the TTP dashboard. It took a while, but I was finally able to score above a 700 and I owe my thanks to TTP.

I would fall into the category of test takers who seem to associate some sort of esoteric wisdom with cracking exams such as the GMAT. However, from the very beginning, TTP proved that the test indeed was very tractable and, with a little smart practice, scoring a 700 or above was very much a possibility.

Both Jeff & Scott are always available, and, although I went with the flexible self-study package, I felt highly attended to. I don't think I ever had to wait longer than a minute to get a response from Jeff or Scott. The way the course is set up makes the entire learning process extremely enjoyable. One thing that underpins the course through all the lessons is the essence of the exam i.e. GMAT is more logic than anything else. And, TTP does a phenomenal job at driving that point home and equipping its subscribers with the critical thinking that is key.

Ultimately, I was able to get the score I wanted and would recommend TTP to anyone who is looking for a solid Quant program.

Although TTP is only Quant, it gave me the confidence that helped me through all the sections of the exam.

Amazing experience -- everyone should try TTP!

I had about 7 weeks to study for the GMAT (a lot less time than I wanted, but I had upcoming deadlines and other responsibilities) and I definitely don't consider myself a quant person. I took a practice GMAT and scored a 560, which was depressing, but it gave me a baseline to work from.

I initially tried the MGMAT books but felt they lacked an interactive, multi-sensory learning component, so I dropped them in favor of Magoosh. Though I think Magoosh is an interesting program, it basically just throws example after example at you in the form of videos, and I don't think the concepts really get reinforced.

Frustrated, I decided to look at reviews on BeatTheGMAT and GMATClub and that's where I first heard of TTP (the reviews were quite compelling). Since they offered a free trial, I decided to give it a chance. At first, I was overwhelmed with just how massive the study plan is, but I quickly realized that the program is setup extremely methodically, from the very basics of addition and subtraction all the way through to every challenging testable concept on the quant section. The provided quick study notes and the 15 page formula guide were fantastic additions that helped reinforce the concepts of each chapter.

About halfway through my studying, I realized that there were still some gaps in my foundational knowledge, so I hired Jeff, one of the heads of TTP, to do a couple of extended tutoring sessions. He was able to reinforce some of the concepts I was struggling with and exposed others that I thought I knew well -- in reality, I had comprehension gaps in several areas, and Jeff pushed me hard to dig deeper and really understand the concepts in and out. He got me to think like the test makers.

I decided to push my test back by a week and dug even deeper to give me all to studying. I took the test on the last possible day before an international work trip, and I was stunned to receive a 670... in less than 2 months, I'd improved my score by more than 100 points!

Ultimately, I got accepted to Darden's GEMBA program with a scholarship, and I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to TTP and Jeff for taking me from completely quant naive to confident in such a short period of time. I wholeheartedly recommend both.

I 100% recommend TTP. I didn't want to spend the money on an instructor and I wanted the flexibility to study whenever I could find the time with my busy work schedule. TTP provided an exhaustive analysis of the quant concepts that helped me feel more comfortable with the problems when I sat for the GMAT. More importantly, I found that I could determine what questions I was able to answer faster and so didn't spend unnecessary time and finished the math section with some time to spare. I honestly feel that this is the best option out there for anyone with a busy schedule who wants to drastically improve their quant score.

Very happy with my score after the TTP Flex course

I'm a good test taker, but tried to study on my own the first time around and scored a 690, much below my goal of 730. I then sought a tutor and was put in touch with Target Test Prep/Jeff Miller.

After 4 months of working through the TTP Quant Flex program, I was scoring in the mid 700s on practice tests. I really contribute my improvement to 1) how comprehensive the quant course was -- it really forces you to learn each chapter and ingrains the information into your memory and 2) my tutoring sessions with Jeff, in which he introduced me to challenging questions that often came up on my practice tests/the real test, and helped explain solutions in ways that weren't conveyed through textbooks/courses.

Although due to the adaptive nature of the test, it didn't necessarily feel easier to me while taking it, my significantly higher scores after getting through the quant program were proof of how much I had learned and my improved ability to recogn ize and confidently solve a wide variety of problems. I would definitely recommend taking the Flex course supplemented with tutoring sessions from Jeff to focus on your weaknesses.

Jeff was a great help in regards to increasing my quant score on the GMAT. I had an ambitious goal of raising my score 30 points in one month. I had been using a self-paced study plan with another firm and was struggling to get my score higher. Just a few hours with Jeff taught me things that greatly helped my score. I was able to improve my quant score by 5 points (42 to a 47)! If I could have started my studying over, I would have just hired Jeff and used his program from the beginning.

Excellent for Drilling Operational Knowledge

February 3, 2018

I cannot recommend Target Test Prep enough.

I come from a non-traditional background (Musical Theater), and, when applying to MBA programs, knew I would need to perform at a competitive level in my quant and IR scores in order to make a mark in my applications.

I'm stubborn and cheap and didn't want to sign up for an in person class or one-on-one training (also very uncomfortable failing in front of people, and I knew there would be a lot of failure as I relearned all the math I'd forgotten since high school). I initially used a different program-a long set of books that gave me a good refresher on conceptual knowledge with basic questions about each chapter just enough to cover the basic principles. Even though I spent two months with these books and countless hours studying, my first sitting at a real test was a disappointment. I scored a 39 (37th percentile) for quant and a 6 (70th percentile) for IR. I knew these scores would not prove to an admissions team that I was ready for their business oriented programs. And what was worse, I knew that I was capable of a better performance. I just didn't have the right tools.

I looked around online forums for programs specifically geared towards raising your quant score and Target Test Prep seemed to be the best course content for the best price. I loved the idea of the monthly subscription, as I was registered to take the test again two and a half weeks later, and didn't want to spend a ton of money on something I would (hopefully) only use for a couple of weeks. And with the awesome week free trial, I really would only be using the subscription for a week and a half. The week free trial let me test drive the software and see that it was the kind of guided progression that I was missing out on from my resistance to not take an in person class. It provided a structure that made sense and felt interactive and engaging. The dashboard, study plans, and chapter tests, are invaluable tools. The hundreds of practice questions littered throughout the study guides really drill typical test formats into your study process. Where I had learned conceptual knowledge from the previous program, Target Test Prep teaches operational knowledge that is of real use when approaching the GMAT.

Admittedly, I did not follow the study guide to the letter, as I only had two and a half weeks to use the software. I did make sure to work through all of the study guides and take most of the "easy" level chapter tests. Then I moved on to the mixed review tests. I love that there is always a timer for the tests that counts down two minutes and that the scoring of each test tells you whether a question was easy, medium, or hard. I knew I was ready when the only questions I was getting wrong were "hard" level questions. I also felt confident looking at the dashboard, seeing that I had answered 500+ questions with 80% accuracy.

On the day of my second test, I experienced some major differences in my performance due to using Target Test Prep: I was more comfortable with all question types, I had working knowledge of all quant principles and knew what kinds of problems each question was asking immediately and what formulas to use, I was much speedier and my internal clock told me when two minutes was about up and it was time to move on, and, maybe most importantly, I could immediately identify questions that were simply too tough for me or on insanely difficult subject matter not even explicitly covered by Target, allowing me to quickly guess and move on, buying me time for other questions and saving me the stress of wondering if I could have ever answered it correctly.

With just two and a half weeks of studying with the Target Test Prep software, I raised my quant score from 39 to 46 (60th percentile) and my IR from 6 to 8 (93rd percentile). My verbal section also improved drastically due to having less stress over the quant section (I didn't study any verbal between test 1 and test 2).

Thanks, Target Test Prep, you ROCK!

Target Test Prep - Review

I scored a 740 on the GMAT with only three weeks of studying, due primarily to my usage of Target Test Prep's Flex Plan to target quantitative. I only had a few weeks to study and I knew that my quantitative skills would be my weakest area, so I scoured the internet and my personal network for recommendations on the most effect way to boost my quantitative score. One of my good friends who scored a 750 on her GMAT recommended Target Test Prep, and I would highly recommend this material to anyone who needs to review quantitative in preparation for the exam.

Target Test Prep Flex Plan has roughly twenty chapters covering all different areas of the quantitative section, from coordinate geometry to functions & sequences to probability to rate / work problems. Target Test Prep covered every type of question that I ever saw in any GMAC-published practice material. Along with each chapter is included easy, medium and hard tests that one can take to test the conc epts that were just learned. It was an extremely effective way to target my weakest area, and I wouldn't have done as well as I did without it.

For those GMAT takers that know they are weak quantitatively, this is one of the most cost-effective and high-quality products on the market to address geometry, arithmetic and algebra. Flex Prep is only $99 a month, and it was extremely worth it for me! :)

I stumbled across this program really late in the study process. I hadn't been studying and had scheduled the exam for 2 weeks from the date I signed up. Knowing that Math would be my weakest point, I needed a rigorous program that would allow me to both concentrate on specific areas of weakness, provide timely feedback, and build on my foundation. In short I was in an impossible situation, trying to cram and relearn math in short order.

The program was fantastic in helping me achieve my goal, boosting my Quant score by 20 points in less than a week of dedicated study. I highly recommend starting the program with enough time to complete the course start to finish, as I think I would have easily added another 30 points.

The flexible pricing and the depth of information is another major benefit of this; given the intensive and time consuming demands of my job, I knew I would not be able to complete a standard course, but I think this program woul d be even better for someone who is really focused on quant!

I used Target Test Prep in conjunction with some 1x1 tutoring with Jeff. I started pretty much from 0 and in a matter of less than a month, improved 30 points overall with a lot of hard work. Important to note - the Target Test Prep guys teach you the actual math in a way that makes sense but don't go to them looking for test taking gimmicks or tricks. The best way to get control of the quant is to know the important content and Target Test Prep will train you on this. For tutoring, they're hardworking and will do what you need to make progress. They showed me a ton of flexibility and understanding during my crazy scramble study period while remaining honest with me the entire time. I highly recommend working with them and Target Test Prep for GMAT quant -- don't do it like I did, give them more than a month and you'll have what you need to score very well.

In undergrad, I took the GMAT and scored a 710. I started studying again a few months ago and tried all the prep materials out there: Manhattan?s practice tests, Veritas? question bank, Magoosh question bank, etc.

Target Test Prep had exactly what I needed to crack the 700 barrier again and score a 730 - categorized quant content, long or short study plans, and a continuous feedback loop. I actually kept a spreadsheet where I classified each incorrect answer, i.e. geometry, number properties, etc. as well as the reason that I got it wrong, which included categories like stupid mistake, poor understanding of content, etc.. TTP had this built in, which really helped focus my studying with the limited time I have. Their approach is by far the best, and has an excellent price point.

I had the pleasure of working with Jeff for six months on GMAT Prep. Given my busy schedule at work I had to take a long time off the GMAT studying at one point but Jeff was able to bring me back up to speed really quickly through a focused program and I ended up improving my Total GMAT score by 70 points. For me as a student he ticks most of the important boxes: He responds to questions very quickly, very flexible to schedule time with, can simply very hard concepts, is able to design study plans specific to your weaknesses, will up with you regularly and keep you on schedule, is someone who is very motivating and encouraging and knows the GMAT really well. Certainly one of the best choices I made as I was studying for the GMAT was signing up with Jeff and Target Test Prep. The Target Test Prep online program is very easy to use and prepares you really well for the main things tested on the exam. I tried two other providers before this and felt this program was the most comparable and relevant to the real exam questions. They didn't overcomplicate the concepts. Really happy with my experience and highly recommend them.

No Non-Sense Quant Prep!

Hey guys. I'm sure you've all had the opportunity to perform much needed due diligence on all the various test prep offerings on the market. I have as well - and to be honest, I've tried it all. I began my GMAT studies with courses such as MGMAT, and later even tried out the Economist GMAT review. However - none of these courses were as comprehensive for the Quant section of the exam as TTP was! TTP's curriculum taught me to think more critically - Within a day, I was already rewiring my thinking process. I was looking for patterns, cues in the question stem and no longer simply just "solving the problem".

Additionally, I highly recommend the private tutoring sessions with Jeff if can make the commitment. I have tried private tutoring sessions with other test prep services, but none of them were as effective as the format, and pedagogy of my sessions with Jeff. Instead of many "Q&A sessions" that I had been previously accustomed to, Jeff threw me in the deep end every single session and tested my true knowledge of the material. Every session was spent effectively drilling down a specific topic, until it was near mastery.

Finally, I improved my quant score from a 45 to a 49. No

Best GMAT Quant Prep

January 18, 2018

Target Test Prep is the absolute best resource for Quant preparation. After getting a 70 point increase in my GMAT score, I can't imagine that anyone would not see an improvement their Quant score after properly following through with the Target course. I did a number of other courses before doing Target, and I wish I had just gone straight to Target and not have spent my money on the others. All of the topics and approaches that I felt like I didn't understand after the other courses were thoroughly covered by Target.

The Target course format is comprehensive, easy to understand, and effective. Math topics are covered starting from the basics, which may seem excessive, but trust me, you don't realize how crucial those basics are until you see how much your score improves. The structure and content of the lessons were great, and the example problems in each lesson really highlighted how each concept is applied on the GMAT.

The real key to success of the course, in my opinion, are the practice tests after each lesson. The practice tests are what really test your understanding and will highlight things you thought you knew but actually didn't understand when it came time to execute. For your tailored study program, you will be given accuracy goals for the tests; make sure you do all the tests and hit all the accuracy goals. I was short on study time before one of my earlier GMAT dates, so I made the mistake of skipping tests and just flying through reading the lessons. The Target program will flash constant alerts at you if you do not follow the recommended study plan and complete the tests -- trust me, they know what they're talking about, follow the study plan if you want the best outcome for your score.

Get Target Test Prep if you want to improve your GMAT Quant score; you won't regret it.

From a 660 to 720!!

My first attempt at the GMAT was after using Kaplan's GMAT 800: Advanced Prep for Advanced Students book. I found it to be helpful with verbal, but the quant section was somewhat lacking.

Taking the GMAT for the second time, I wanted to place more focus on the quant section. A friend referred Target Test Prep after using it for the GRE. I signed up in September but didn't start studying until early/mid October. I would study for about 5-10 hours a week dependent on my schedule.

I loved the interface and detailed explanations for every question. Having the option to review easy, medium and hard questions also helped me gauge how well I understood the lesson. The structure of the material also follows a very logical path and the dashboard clearly shows your progress throughout the course. At first I went through every lesson and quiz, but as the test got closer I started to focus only on the lessons that were indicated as weak areas on my diagnostic test (which is also a great feature to have).

The week of the GMAT I did a few of the larger review tests. An important aspect of my score below is that I did not review verbal at all (outside of 2 full length tests) between the two dates I took the GMAT.

My goal for this second test was to break 700. I needed to feel more confident going into the test and effectively use my time the day of. TTP delivered on both fronts. While my quant score increased less than my verbal did, (Q44-47, V37-42) I wouldn't have gotten a 720 without TTP. I started off with the quant section and felt far more relaxed this time around. Moving into Verbal knowing quant was behind me (and likely better than my first GMAT) was a huge asset and my confidence only grew. I am very happy with my score and would encourage anyone who wants a thorough amount of of practice questions, quizzes and lessons to use TTP.

Ideal for struggling Quant Student

This is hands down the perfect course if you are struggling with quant (or suspect that you will struggle) for the GMAT. It is extremely thorough, comprehensive and detailed for you to gain confidence solving every single problem you can encounter on the GMAT. I liked the structure in which they make you master each section/type of problem before going to the next. That really allowed me to be confident in each section and that percolated to test day.

Beyond serving as the best practice tool I encountered, it also ideal to learn concepts from zero, or help with concepts you might have been struggling with. For example, I was really bad at Combinations and Permutations, but after TTP it was one of my strongest areas, the same with Geometry. The videos are detailed enough for you to easily understand and master the skills needed for each type of problem regardless of your level of expertise.

In summary, this is the only course I'd recommend for quant and would save any potential candidate lots of time and money to start their quant training with TTP. Plus, Jeff and Scot were always helpful answering any questions (academic or test related) I had during the process. TTP is 100% worth your money and more importantly your time.

I really loved how TTP prepared me for the quant section of the GMAT. I hadn't studied most of the math-related coursework for 6-7 years, and I was concerned that I had forgotten many of the basic concepts that I needed to get through the GMAT quant section. TTP helped me go from a quant score of 46 to 50 by helping me relearn those basics in a comprehensive, easy-to-digest format.

TTP's teaching methods were more comprehensive than some of the other at-home courses I had tried. I really valued the opportunity to do all the learning on my own, while also having TTP staff on hand to help via chat/phone whenever I needed. Overall, it's a great service that I couldn't recommend more highly for someone trying to brush up on old quant skills before the GMAT!

Efficient, effective, easy-to-follow and flexible.

I've heard a lot of stories from friend and through forums of people of people taking the GMAT and not being able to hit the score they want the first time round. From the get go, I decided to engage with Target Test Prep to help me.

Only taking the exam once, I'm still in disbelief of how in the world I managed to get a 740 after only studying for 2 and a half months. I've never even hit that score in my practice exams before.

Can I just say, Scott Woodbury is amazing, I think his online curriculum on Target Test Prep is extremely comprehensive and easy to follow. It has a very effective and efficient structure that builds maths skills and knowledge from the ground up. Just going through my flash cards before the exam, I didn't realise how well even just the lessons in the curriculum online flows and build on one another. The question bank is very extensive and well managed with regards to the stages of the curriculum at which it prompts you to do them. The fact that I could do it any time in my own time was an extreme plus point as well (I live in Asia, so between Scott and me, there's a huge time difference).

I also had one class a week of private classes with Scott, totalling 7 sessions. All that time was spent efficiently clarifying any questions I had, especially on the other 3 sections of the GMAT. These one-to-one sessions are fully flexible. He leaves it to you to decide where you think you may need the most help, while also highlighting areas he thinks you should focus more on improving.

Apart from being a friendly and approachable tutor, his encouragement and his wise, yet simple, advice made everything so much easier for me. The way he put things, it made me think "huh, I don't know why I never looked at it like that before.." The verbal section was my weakest area. We only spent a total of 3 hours on it and my score had improved significantly. To be honest, besides those 3 hours, I hadn't done much other practice for that.

I highly recommend Scott and Target Test Prep. Especially if you're looking for an easy-to-follow and comprehensive curriculum, a supportive and effective tutor, and need that flexibility of doing it in your own time.

The best GMAT course!

After studying for the GMAT for several months using the official guides and tests, I was unable to significantly improve my accuracy or test scores (approx 600). I then found a local GMAT tutor (in Sydney, Australia) who prepared a study plan and practice tests for me. After another two months of study, my scores had not improved much and I still felt as though I couldn't see the big picture in terms of content and strategy. Finally, I was put in touch with Scott from TTP by a friend who had worked with him. I signed up to the TTP online program and had an initial Skype session with Scott. Immediately, I noticed that he could explain the path forward in a simple and methodical way. The online course was clean, simple and had some great features (especially the custom tests that only include questions that you have answered incorrectly!). I worked through every question and chapter on the online course in conjunction with weekly Skype calls. After I had completed the course, I decided that I need to achieve 700+ in three simulated tests which I did on Saturday mornings in the office - 710, 740, 720.

I was naturally good at Verbal so 70% of my time was spent on quant. In the weeks leading up to the test I did two or three sessions with Scott focusing on high-level verbal techniques. Although this isn't really advertised by TTP their assistance with Verbal was very helpful.

In total, I studied for the GMAT for over 12 months because I run a company and could only do an hour or two of study each morning. On test day I worked through both sections methodically and scored a 720 (48Q & 41V). From the outset, my goal was to score 700+ so I was very happy with the result.

Without TTP I am sure that this score would have been impossible for me. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Target Test Prep Increased Quant 14 Points: 720 GMAT SCORE!

November 27, 2017

After trying almost every prep program under the sun, I found the answers to my quant problems (pun intended) in Target Test Prep.

To start my GMAT studies, I took a Manhattan in-person class in 2014, but I never attempted the official GMAT. At the start of 2017, I was committed to taking the GMAT and started sessions with one Manhattan tutor, and then another Manhattan tutor, but I wasn't seeing much progress, and I was uneasy about the lack of direction with my study plan.

March 2017: GMAT Test 1
630 (40Q, 36V)

While studying for my first official test, I also participated in TTP's free Tuesday webinars, which I found via the Forte Forum (I am a 2017 Forte MBALauncher). I found these webinars to be very valuable and liked the teaching style of the TTP instructor, Jeff Miller.

After my 630, I reached out to Jeff bc I knew something was not clicking with my current Manhattan tutor/study plan. Jeff listened to my concerns and offered to squeeze me in for a session before my second official test, which was scheduled for two weeks after my first. I declined due to the time constraint, but I knew that Jeff would be my first call if things did not go well.

April 2017: GMAT Test 2
610 (34Q, 39V)

Things did not go well. In the cab home, I had Jeff on the phone and he told me that it was okay, that there still is plenty of time, and that we were going to make a plan.

Let me make this scenario clear: Jeff Mille, who was neither my tutor, nor had received a dollar for me, graciously coached me on my previous studying and exam experiences, generously reached out to me on the day of my test to give me encouragement, and reassured me on my cab ride home. I was already impressed wit his webinars, but now it was clear that he was going to be a staple of my support system.

As a tutor, Jeff went above and beyond the call of duty. His goal was to always challenge me. During our sessions, I wanted to get every problem correct; it's human nature. After a series of incorrect problems, when Jeff heard the frustration in my voice, he kindly reminded me that his purpose was to find the areas that I struggled with, exploit that weakness, build on it, and help me grow.

Along with Jeff being an amazing tutor, TARGET TEST PREP IS THE BEST QUANT PROGRAM. The program is rooted in an entirely online structure, which is not only convenient for the times that you don't want to carry the giant OG book, but also superior to programs that try to supplement methods of offline study. For me, this prep program wasn't better than other online prep programs, it was better than ANY prep program.

July 2017: GMAT Test 3
640 (44Q, 33V)

Although this wasn't much overall improvement, MY QUANT SCORE INCREASED 10 POINTS, proving the value of TTP. My verbal dropped six points, which killed my score. I made some poor verbal choices in study prep, but eventually found the right path through a recommendation from Jeff.

At this time I couldn't jump back into studying. I had plans to go to Europe for two weeks and knew that essays, applications, and recommendations awaited my return. I'd like to pretend that I gave taking the test again some serious thought, but from the moment I walked out I knew I would take it again. I wasn't satisfied, and Jeff encouraged me the entire time.

I waited to start studying again until mid-September when the essays lot their allure. I had Jeff tutor me once a week to keep my steady with quant. In addition, I heavily relied on the TTP online program to supplement his tutor sessions. Jeff helped me focus on depth over breadth. It was better to master the biggest concepts than try to touch on every topic that the GMAT may or may not ask me. This advice made a huge impact.

October 2017: GMAT Test 4
720 (Q48, V41)

Total Quant Improvement: 14 points

14 points! I don't think I need to say much after that. Thank you TTP and Jeff Miller.

Hands down best quant prep

There is literally no way I would have achieved a 50Q without going through the TTP course and doing private tutoring with Jeff. The chapter quizzes on the website, and the ability to make custom quizzes, enabled me to simulate the CAT experience and focus on areas in which I needed to improve. I could create custom quizzes comprised of only hard questions in the areas in which I needed to improve, and then review the solutions to those problems until I fully understood the concepts. Until signing up for this course, I simply hadn't found anything with that level of depth. The one-on-one tutoring with Jeff was awesome. He taught me tons of tricks for complex problems in addition to general strategies which I was able to use on test day. Let me tell you, when a problem came up that I was able to answer in 10 seconds which would have taken 2 or 3 minutes otherwise, I was grateful I had invested in the tutoring. Jeff, in addition, has a response time which rarely exceeds 10 seconds. Not an exaggeration. The dude is locked in. It was great to be supported like that. Seriously cannot recommend TTP enough.

Having previously tried Manhattan Prep and scored 640, I felt I needed a change in direction. Manhattan course is gimmicky, and that's putting it mildly. Their "multiple books" offering is fragmented and cumbersome to navigate. It may work for some people but for me it did not.

By contrast, Target Test Prep's approach was concise and focussed on math excellence. I used their math course and scored 730 overall in a few months time.

TTP: Responsible for my 50 on Quant

October 9, 2017

Scott, Jeff, and TTP are the reason that I scored a 50 on Quant. I have never been a good test standardized test taker, and I tried Kaplan and Manhattan Prep before switching to TTP. No other class or one-on-one tutoring helped me as much as Scott/Jeff/TTP. There material is unique to anything else on the market. The lessons and study plans on the website are interactive and provide insights into the type of questions that no other company can match. Before I started working with Scott, I just memorized problems and hoped something similar would show up on the test. After working with TTP, I understood the material on a deeper level and was able to solve the problems not just memorize formulas. Scott also helped me with my test day anxiety, which was killing my score. I worked with Jeff on my data sufficiency skills because that was my weakest section on Quant. However, on my final exam I got 95th percentile in data sufficiency questions. Do not waste your time with any other company or study material. The website has so much content and dynamic study plan that adapts as you learn more. You also have the ability to create custom tests that were awesome to supplement the practice exams offered by mba.com. I had been studying for 3 months before working with TTP, and I was shocked how much I learned and how much I did not know from the website, study material, and one-on-one sessions. If you want to achieve your highest potential on quant, use TTP!!

TTP is the BEST Quant Prep Out There!

October 8, 2017
  • Teacher: Scott Woodbury-Stewart
  • Recommended forVerbal: No  Math: Yes
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: N/A After: 700

Let me just start by saying: 31Q to 46Q....that happened for me.

As someone that had not taken any quantitative courses since high school (I placed out for undergrad), I knew that the Quant section of the GMAT was going to be a particular struggle for me. I began studying for the GMAT by taking a traditional in-person class for a month and a half. I realized that in-person courses were not for me, as I wasn't really being taught Quant just because someone spoke about the subject an hour or two a week. I was consistently receiving Quant scores in the low 30s, likely because I was missing the deeper, fundamental frameworks that would allow me to tackle math again with the most basic of skillsets. It was a waste of money and time. I needed another way to prepare...and that's when I was recommended to try TTP for a week trial.

Scott, the CEO of TTP called me the very first day of my trial to try and get an understanding of who I was, what my goals were, and to provide general preparation advice. This is just but one testament to the company's commitment to helping you as a person. They are personable, reliable, and put their own time into helping you be the best in achieving your test/business school goals. This personal touch and immediate customer service while working on the platform is really an AMAZING element to note -- it is unparalleled!

I quickly signed up after the week trial to do the monthly payment (it was just $99 per month, already cheaper than traditional prep!).

At first, I wanted to the short-term approach to quickly wrap the test up in a month. He reasoned that real subject matter understanding would likely take at least 3-7 months to increase my Quant understanding from the level I was operating at, to my desired score. I didn't believe it at first, but he couldn't have been more correct.

TTP truly teaches you the foundations of GMAT math, and each subject/chapter builds upon the last. The online platform is completely easy and seamless, the material readable and digestible, and the quizzes (take them all!) are comprehensive for each subject. Excluding experimental questions, there were no questions on GMAT exams that I didn't have a clue how to answer -- I always at least knew the method of attack thanks to TTP. Also, there are amazing tools like bookmarking questions, making notes, on-site target analytics, custom tests, and more! This was truly invaluable to me, as the self-guided method of study is most fruitful for me because I can dive as deep into information as I need.

You begin to realize that difficult GMAT questions are actually a myriad of different math subjects that just have to be broken down into small pieces, step-by-step. TTP helped me to realize this. Eventually, the foundational rules, time-saving problem solving skills, and repetition of question types allowed me to go from seeing low 30s, to mid-high 40s consistently-- something that I barely knew would be possible for me!

There is no better Quant prep tool out here - and I sing TTP's praises every day. It's AFFORDABLE and THE BEST You WILL reach your quantitative goals as long as you follow the plan to the T.

I found TTP an excellent choice! I was able to improve my quant score from Q45 to Q49 after only 1 month.
I am a non-native English speaker, so I knew that the Quant score will be a key element of my application to B-schools.
I took the GMAT three times before arriving at TTP and I couldn't increase my quant score even I tried different online platforms and programs. However, TTP showed me new methods to solve the difficult PS question and focused my attention on the most important elements of each DS question.
I am really satisfied with the result!

Target Test Prep - Responsible for my 700+ score

September 14, 2017
  • Teacher:
  • Recommended forVerbal: No  Math: Yes
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: N/A After: 710

I have utilized Target Test Prep, Manhattan GMAT, Veritas Prep, Magoosh and EmpowerGMAT resources over the course of my study for the GMAT. Target Test Prep (TTP) is the single best resource that I used in order to prepare for the Quant section of the GMAT. It is a resource that helped me to crack the 700 barrier that had eluded me for a long time. I selected the flexible study option and in my opinion, this platform provided the highest value-to-price and ease of use of all the resources that I had utilized for my GMAT preparation. I began to see gains in my GMAT score after I used the TTP content and I would like to give it my highest recommendation. I feel very passionate about this recommendation of the TTP material, because preparation for the GMAT can be a very expensive undertaking that disenfranchises many qualified applicants. There are many companies that will try to extract every dollar that they can from committed students. That is not the case with Scott and Jeff (founders of TTP). There were several instances when they helped me to make a decision that was truly in my interest as opposed to their bottom line. They were incredibly responsive throughout the course of my study, and personally answered questions that I had along the way.

I hope this review will:

1. Help you to see the benefits of the TTP platform.
2. Encourage you to keep your eye on your goal
3. Avoid some of the pitfalls that I made.

Now back to TTP:

The content at TTP is comprehensive and is presented in a user friendly format. Even after review of much of the material from other companies, there were many gaps in knowledge that TTP filled for me. TTP helped me to not only understand a formula but also the derivation of that formula. Once I learned the why associated with some high level concepts, I realized that this knowledge was transferable to many different areas that came into play when reasoning through problems and data sufficiency questions.

TTP helped me to identify the efficient method of solving a problem as opposed to the elegant method. Early in my test prep, I was focused on the latter and wasted precious time during execution. As I used the TTP material, not only did I know how to answer questions, but I also knew how much time/effort would be associated with a particular solution method. This becomes very important when students venture into the 49-51 territory. The videos embedded in the lessons are golden and really help to reinforce the content that is delivered within each lesson.

The design of the TTP platform is very user friendly and helps students to allocate their time (a scarce resource) appropriately during study hours. The study plans provided structure and helped me to maintain consistency when life began to get in the way of my study. The built in analytics helped me tremendously. I was able to easily diagnose my strengths and my weaknesses and leverage the extensive TTP question bank to convert weaknesses into the strengths. I previously did not even have an error log, so I approached my study inefficiently. The design of the platform ushered built-in efficiency gains that I needed in order to boost my score.

Simply put, performance on easy, medium and advanced questions matters. Early on in my test prep I was so focused on advanced level questions that I was very prone to make silly mistakes on easy and medium level questions. This was largely because I didn?t spend any time practicing at these levels when I thought that I had mastered concepts. TTP helps you to ensure that you address all of these buckets with an extensive question bank listed by topic. I finally saw breakthroughs in my performance on advanced questions after I had read all of the material and perfected the easy and medium difficulty questions for each topic. Naturally as my quant proficiency improved, I began to see a higher proportion of advanced quant questions in my mock exams. I increased my accuracy at the advanced stage using TTP and felt that I had a chance to answer any and every question thrown my way correctly.

Initially, I believed that TTP would not provide any incremental knowledge to the knowledge base that I had gained from other platforms, so I questioned the value that TTP would provide. I was wrong. It is the single reason that I was able break the 700 barrier. Regardless of where you are in your test prep, Target test prep has content that will benefit you. You can use the material as the backbone of your preparation or as a complement to another resource. Either way, at a minimum you will gain a clear assessment of where you are and path forward to reaching your goals.

As you embark upon your next steps - Stay Focused. Be Bold. The score that you want is yours. Claim it.

Amazing, modern Quant Prep

September 5, 2017
  • Teacher: Jeffery Miller; Scott Woodbury-Stewart

  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 680 After: 710

If you're anything like me, the Quant section was by far the most challenging from the outset, and continued to pose as a formidable opponent. After taking the test once, and struggling with the Quant, I knew I needed to find a resource. I had been using books from the "big guys," but it wasn't really helping the Quant material click for me. I figured there must be something else out there. I quickly stumbled on Target Test Prep (TTP) - a relatively new player to the GMAT prep game. So I checked them out thoroughly. I was surprised at first to see they were the only company on the market that focused solely on Quant, but that actually gave me confidence - they aren't trying to be everything to everyone. TTP - least for now - is a focused approach for people serious about improving their Quant score.

As a growing company, TTP without a doubt has nothing but your best interest in mind. I found them very communicative, and responsive - never felt alone in the process even though I chose a "self-study" approach with them. Using a combination of written lessons and tons of videos showing exactly how to approach each type of problem, I found TTP to be a robust training course. Two things stood out for me most of all, though. 1: there's no fluff, or clutter. Everything presented, even the basics, are for a reason to refresh and build upon. And 2: the way to approach the Quant questions is what helped me the most. Every service shares their method for approaching it, but I found TTP to be the best for learning really useful tactics that made sense to me, I could retain, and utilize on test day.

In about 6 weeks, after utilizing TTP's entire Quant course, I retook the GMAT and increased my overall score by 30 points. My Verbal remained the same, meaning that my increase was all in Quant: went from a 43 to a 47, thanks to TTP?s help. With their available free trial, I highly recommend giving it a try, and see if the format and teaching approach work for you!

44Q to 49Q in a month with TTP!

September 1, 2017
  • Teacher:
  • Recommended forVerbal: No  Math: Yes
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 710 After: 710

I took my GMAT for the first time in July 2017 and got a 44Q. After months of studying, using all the Kaplan materials (including the Live Online Prep course), and taking countless practice tests with better results, I was really disappointed.

After decompressing for a few weeks, I decided I might as well try the GMAT again while the math was fresh in my mind. I didn't want another year to take the test and have to re-learn everything I had spend months trying to remember. So I decided to take the test again at the end of August.

As I geared up to take the test again, I knew that just using the Kaplan materials wasn't going to get me the score I wanted. After extensive internet searching I landed on Target Test Prep. Beyond having good reviews, the Flexible Program was reasonably priced at $99 a month. this was a big plus after spending thousands on the Kaplan program.

The Dashboard is extremely useful. It shows your strongest and weakest chapters, your accuracy percentage, your average time per question (even divided up between problem solving and data sufficiency), among other things. It is a great quick and easy way to keep track of your progress and see what you still need to improve on.

I began with doing the medium-level practice problems in each of the chapters. That gave me a good indication of what me strengths and weaknesses were. After determining the topic areas I needed to review (e.g., combinations and permutations, probability), I reviewed those specific chapters only. The chapters were detailed and contained a lot of useful tricks to work through problems faster. Especially useful were the video AND written explanations for each practice problem within the chapter. I also liked that the practice problems were divided up by difficulty level and practices sets had accuracy goals depending on difficulty level (i.e., you should aim to get 70% of medium questions right vs. 60% of hard questions right).

Target Test Prep really lived up to its reviews. After using it exclusively for a month, I got my quant score up to a 49. I can definitely say that I was more confident about the quant section going into my test. More concretely, I know I would have gotten the first question of the quant section wrong on test day if it weren't for Target Test Prep.

Target Test Prep helped me overcome my fear of math

August 30, 2017
  • Teacher: Jeff Miller
  • Recommended forVerbal: No  Math: Yes
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 550 After: 680

In my first attempt at the GMAT, I had tried several resources but never found anything that really worked for me. Enter Target Test Prep. I had a great initial conversation with Jeff who encouraged me to switch up materials to help enliven the process. I took his advice and signed up for the $1 weeklong trial (which is great for us commitment-phobes). I really liked the clean and sleek interface, the dashboard that tracks and analyzes your progress, and, most importantly, the way TTP broke down the material into super specific chapters.

TTP provided the depth and breadth that I needed but didn?t get from the other materials. There were even times when I encountered problem types that I thought were way too specific and that there was no way this would be tested on the actual GMAT. Definitely not the case. As the Boy Scouts motto goes, ?always be prepared.? TTP equips you with ALL the tools and knowledge you need so you?re prepared to tackle every quant problem on the GMAT. Also, TTP is awesome in that you can use the nifty dashboard to focus on very specific problem types. It removes any doubt or confusion on which areas need more focus and attention.

If you struggle with math, use TTP ? This is hands down the best resource available if you need to improve your quant skills. The thoroughness of the program is unparalleled. DO ALL THE PROBLEMS. For the first few chapters, I was only doing the easy and medium problems then resorting to OG problems. Don?t do that. By doing all the problems, you?re drilling key concepts into your brain to the point where you?ll be able to easily identify patterns and solve problems without hesitation. Again, do all the TTP problems and then do all the OG problems.

I also signed up for individual tutoring sessions with Jeff, which was a major game changer. Jeff challenges you to really understand the concepts being tested while also showing you ways to outsmart the test makers. I am not a great standardized test and often let my anxiety get the best of me, but Jeff showed me that if you really understand and know the material, then there?s no reason to get anxious. Just trust in yourself and what you?ve learned.

Target Test Prep is the ONLY Test Prep

August 30, 2017

As far as GMAT Quant is concerned, Target Test Prep is the way to go. IT IS FOOLPROOF. With only 2 months before my test deadline, I did the flex plan and completed EVERY SINGLE medium and hard test, hitting each accuracy goal as instructed. The lessons were very clear and extra detailed. Before TTP, I tried a few other test preps. TTP is by far better because they focus on teaching you the math to its core- ALL OF IT- as opposed to simply giving you the basics and smart strategy/tricks to answer the most common questions. I tried the latter way before TTP, and in the heat and anxiety of the quant section, you're better off KNOWING THE MATH rather than trying to finesse the GMAT by depending on tricks like testing the answers choices or guessing and checking--especially if you want an advanced score. With TTP, I mastered ALL the concepts and knew each one like the back of my hand, and was able to dive into each question, knowing EXACTLY what to do. In the end, the quant felt easy because I was very familiar with every problem that was thrown at me and trained to do it in 2 min or less. I haven't taken a math class in 8 years and TTP made me more than prepared for the GMAT, it gave me the confidence that I can handle the b-school quant. Note: Give yourself more than 2 months to complete this plan if you can. I did it in 2 months because it was crunch time and I had no choice, but I wish I started with TTP from the beginning of my GMAT journey, 6 months prior.

THE COURSE FOR QUANT

August 25, 2017

  • Recommended forVerbal: No  Math: Yes
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 680 After: 700

My GMAT journey has been a tumultuous one to say the least. I started my first GMAT way back in 2013 and finally achieved a decent enough score in 2017.
I got a 680 last year, was not happy with it mainly due to the Quant score a 47 (65 percentile).
After much deliberation and 2/3 rejected applications I decided to give my last and final GMAT in 2017, the whole game plan then was to score a good score- 700 plus with a definite improvement in QUANT. Problem was I had no idea how to go about it and this was back in June-17, my exam was scheduled for 5-Aug-17. I stumbled upon Target Test Prep purely by chance, was reading one of the success testimonials of a candidate on BEATTHEGMAT (forgot the user name). He had been in the same predicament and TTP had helped him get to his goal and he had mentioned it was only a $ for a 5 day trial and pointed out that if anyone liked a structured chapter by chapter study course TTP was the one. I read more on TTP and found great reviews on BEATTHEGMAT.

Decided that a dollar was worth a shot, and I was hooked right from the start!
They have three options based on the access duration. Per month $ 69, 4 months- $ 199 and 6 months access- $ 279. Being short on time I opted for the monthly access plan.
TTP has a great teaching format. They have a clear study plan outlined for you and with chapters broken up into groups. You do each chapter review with supporting sums and the best part is their explanation! Jeff and Scott shines in this area- they have an audio visual explanation for each practice sum! This is followed by chapter tests that are broken down by levels of difficulty. The number of sums at their disposal is just mind blowing. After each chapter my confidence grew, even if I didn?t score the best. That was mainly cause of the explanation, they clearly highlighted the pit falls and the traps laid out in those sums and I genuinely learnt from my mistakes. I reached a point that in the difficulty level tests I would wish I got some questions wrong purely to figure out if I missed any traps in the questions answered (delusional of me I know).

The D-day arrived, I wrote the test clicked on result and voila I see a 50 in Quant- 87 percentile.
Came out of the exam center wanting to scream out in joy and for me TTP had rocked and I couldn?t thank them enough. The course was so instrumental in beating my Quant Dragon! If you like a structured learning plan that helps you track your progress and with the advantage you can open and do it anywhere ? TTP is the course for you. I loved it and would highly recommend it. This course was for me a score changer!

Took Target Test Prep and Never Looked Back!

August 25, 2017

Target Test Prep?s course structure was exactly what I needed. The dashboard gives you real analytics on your progress, which makes it so much easier to track your strengths and weaknesses. It?s also easy to navigate and simple. As soon as I paid the $1 trial sign up fee, I felt like I was able to get to work immediately. With this plan, I did not take any shortcuts. I did the work. I built myself a calendar around Target Test Prep?s recommended study plan and stuck to it. I tracked my progress on their dashboard, flagging questions I did not understand, and then went back to them to redo later. No other resource I had tried (and I tried many of them) made it so easy to identify and tackle my weaknesses.

I also opted to do individual tutoring sessions with Jeff, Target Test Prep?s head tutor. These sessions were grueling because Jeff purposely showed me the trickiest problems to help me learn how the test is designed to stump you. Through these sessions, I started to learn how to think about problems and how to approach them more strategically.

For me, Target Test Prep was crucial for building the confidence I needed in my quant base, and I truly believe it taught me to think more strategically about the exam overall. My verbal and IR both improved without much additional time spent studying these sections. But I also have to thank Jeff, who encouraged me to go back to the exam and give it one more shot. If it weren't for his motivation, I would not have seen a 50 point increase in my score!

I identified very early on in my GMAT prep that I needed to focus almost exclusively on prepping for the quant section of the test. I understand that everyone has their own unique path to success on the GMAT, however, if you are like me and mainly struggle with quant as a non-STEM undergrad (or simply lack quant confidence), you will not regret learning concepts, tightening up knowledge gaps, and drilling with Target Test Prep. Their web interface is sleek, easily accessible from your PC or mobile device, and allows you to quickly target and strengthen weak areas.

I have utilized a variety of GMAT prep materials (actually pretty much all of them) but none of them will get you the same bang for your buck as Target Test Prep if you put in the requisite effort. I needed a product that would provide me a structured quant overview, but would also allow me the flexibility to hone in on problem areas and target them with a sufficient breadth of problems. Target Test Prep has every quant concept covered backwards, forwards, and sideways with several 10-18 question ?chapter tests? (sometimes even up to 8 or 9 chapter tests) and a robust , proprietary question bank.

The questions are broken down into easy, medium, and hard- I?ve noticed that many of the easy questions target concepts in ways that you won?t find anywhere else. While many test prep companies pay lip service to mastering quant fundamentals, the TTP ?easy? problems are designed in such a way as to ensure that you have truly mastered the basics before moving on to more difficult problems. The medium and hard problems tend to be slightly more difficult than official GMAT medium and hard problems which is EXACTLY what you want in a GMAT quant prep platform.

The GMAT quant section seemed like an insurmountable obstacle to me until I started systematically attacking it with the help of Target Test Prep. I was able to boost my quant score from a 42 to a 46 and ultimately achieve my goal of a 700+ with a 710.

I only had 3 weeks to prepare for the GMAT and was looking for a prep program that would provide a flexible, but comprehensive curriculum for the quantitative section. Target Test Prep is exactly that. The program is designed to be both flexible and comprehensive - it divides the material into sections based on skill sets. Each section has a set of slides with curriculum and practice problems, and a set of practice exams ranging from easy to hard with multiple of each. When you first start the program you take a diagnostic exam and determines your weak points. From here, you can tailor your study plan to focus on these areas. The program allowed me to study most effectively, with a focused study plan and the means to practice. The curriculum was more clear and effective than any of the material I found in the test prep books, and the practice exams were manageable, but challenging. I would not have been able to score as high as I did without TTP.

I Beat the Quant Section with TTP

August 4, 2017

  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 670 After: 700

I am a male, thirty-five years of age, and a native English speaker in the USA. I am single, no children, and therefore have more free time than many people my age. I graduated cum laude from a large state university in 2004 where I studied finance and economics. Immediately after undergrad I went to law school, practiced law for two years, and then worked in healthcare for eight years.

I took the GMAT in December 2016 and scored a 670 (48Q/34V) after several months of self-study with commonly used print materials. I found out in March 2017 that I was not accepted to the three top 25 programs to which I had applied. I thought my GMAT score was the biggest reason for lack of admission and the most important admission criteria that I could improve for the next application cycle. I was also told by several MBA admission consultants that the top finance programs want 49 or higher on quant. My quant had to improve to meet that threshold. My GMAC CAT verbal scores were at 40/41 (in April 2017) and combined with a 49 in Quant would enable a 720+ score. I spent a couple weeks evaluating the various online test prep services.
I chose Target Test Prep for Quant Prep because I had participated in some of the free Tuesday sessions with Jeff and watched some of the other free content TTP has on YouTube. I signed up for the TTP one month renewable plan and followed the short study plan so that I could sit for the test again and finally break 700. The first month I strictly followed the short study plan and found that the TTP program was easy to follow, had user friendly explanations in text and many also in video, and that these studies guided me to a deeper understanding of why every choice was correct or not. I also found that the answer explanations on TTP were far superior to the print materials I previously used to earn a 48Q. I had hoped that one month would be enough for me, but my GMAC CATs were not meeting my goal and I renewed TTP for a second month. During the second month I took practice quant exams nearly every night, including TTP tests that were composed entirely of previous wrong answers. The self-testing options were incredible and allowed me to focus on whatever section needed attention.

In addition to the amazing structured program, the people behind the program, Scott and Jeff, are TTP?s greatest assets. They were always available and responded to emails within a few hours. Scott even texted me while he was traveling internationally.

I took the official GMAT again in July 2017 and scored 700 with a 50Q and 34V. I am thrilled with my quant score and do not believe that I could have scored 50 without TTP. I highly recommend TTP and that you email TTP so that Scott or Jeff can recommend the right study plan for you.

After I didn't do as well as I wanted to on my first test, I signed up for TTP and bought a few hours of tutoring with Jeff. TTP and Jeff are both amazing - my whole score went up 40 points after going through this program. I can't recommend them enough.

The website is SO helpful - the lessons are really easy to follow and efficient. I was able to get through the short study plan and learn so much in 2 months. I had been using Magoosh before but I found myself not retaining a lot from the videos. TTP has questions after each chapter and videos on the most efficient way to solve them, which makes it really easy to practice. If I didn't get something, I never had to wait more than 30 min for Jeff or Scott (the co-owners) to answer a question. They have a chat feature and respond themselves with how best to think about problems.

Tutoring with Jeff was also amazing. Even though TTP only focuses on quant, Jeff's general advice about how to approach the test helped me with my verbal as well. I had a less expensive tutor before, but that wound up being a waste of money. It's really worth it to pay for someone who can help with your GMAT strategy, not just generally how to solve a problem.

I tried using some other online learning materials (I learn better on my own), but the video format did not work for me. I looked around for other tools out there, then I found Target Test Prep on of the GMAT websites. At first, I was skeptical, because I hadn't heard of it, and I assumed if it was good, I should've heard of it. I wasn't quite ready to commit despite the great reviews. I gave it a risk-free try (5 or 7 day trial for $1, I'm not sure which it is now). I was immensely impressed especially with the deep analytics they provide on their dashboard. This feature makes it easy to study the whole course or target weak areas. I studied the whole course but got a 46 on my first test. This was because I barely did any practice. They have tons of questions which feed into the data on the dashboard as you attempt questions. I just got a 49Q today after I took all 19 tests on the number properties chapter, whcih I consider the most critical for the test. I couldn't have done it without TTP, as most users call it. If you prefer to self-study, I cannot recommend this enough!!

5 STARS, HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR QUANT!!

Before beginning TTP, I was at a point in my quant studying where I felt that I knew content well, but didn't really know where to focus or how to move from 60th percentile up to the 80s. TTP works so well because it allows you to drill specific types of problems over and over until you get the concept and then move on to the next. It completely turned around my quant prep. I cannot speak highly enough of the program!

The answer explanations and lessons are fantastic, very clear and easy to navigate. Fantastic interface and an absolute MUST for anybody trying to improve their quant score but feeling stuck.

After starting TTP I started consistently scoring 47+ on practice tests for quant, and ended up with a 50 on the real thing. I used it for 3 months and did almost every lesson and found so many tricks and tips that helped me complete the section faster. Highly recommend if you need to give your quant score a boost

Jeff and Scott were great during the test prep process. The Target Test Prep platform helps to identify your weak points and focus your study efforts on the areas of the exam where you can make the most improvement. In addition to using the platform I worked closely with Jeff during private tutoring session which had a significant impact on my ability to perform on the exam. Target Test Prep is a great resource to improve your quant score and Jeff and Scott are great to work with.

Target Test Prep helped me rock the GMAT

January 18, 2017

I started prepping for the GMAT far later than I should have. I took many practice tests (through a prominent test prep company and GMAC), but in the beginning my quantitative scores were fairly weak compared to where I wanted to be. Though my overall score was improving, it was primarily due to improvements in my fairly solid verbal scores.

Shortly before the test date, I decided to use TTP for some in-depth quantitative boot camp to improve my score and reach my overall goal for the GMAT. I was incredibly impressed with the smoothness of the experience, the depth of the practice for each of the principles, and the ability to test easy, medium, and hard questions for each principle. I buckled down and hit TTP hard in the areas I needed (which was knowledge conveniently provided by the TTP diagnostic in the beginning). After lots of prep and practice in these areas, I saw my score make a drastic jump, and I felt much readier to tackle the GMAT.

Test day came and went, and I ended up with a 770 overall (Q50 V46). I couldn't have asked for a better experience both from TTP and the GMAT test day. I know test day was a lot less stressful and a lot more rewarding because of the prep from TTP. If you're on the fence regarding GMAT quant prep, try it out! You may end up scoring well above the range you think possible.

Best option for Quant focus

After taking my first GMAT practice test and getting a 490, I knew I was going to have a long road to get the score I wanted. I definitely would not have been able to move my score up to a 680 if it hadn't been for Target Test Prep. With the amount of review I needed, I wanted a course that would move at my pace and allow me to dive into the material one concept at a time. The Target curriculum does this perfectly - the extremely detailed lesson plans combined with practice questions, chapter tests and customizable problem sets are the most thorough and affordable option available.

I also worked one-on-one with Jeff and he was incredibly accessible to answer my questions and coach me along. He was patient and encouraging as I hit bumps in the process, including going in to take an official test and getting a 500. While I improved significantly, I struggled with confidence on test day and he coached me on how to translate my success in practice to the actual test. I boosted my official score from a 580 to a 680 in 4 weeks with his final push.

I can't recommend TTP enough. Thank you Jeff and Scott!

Full time Air Force Officer, tons of travel, and a 710 GMAT thanks to Target Test Prep

I am in the military, I work full time, and I travel a ton. I started using Target Test Prep after I had already gone through a popular in person 6-week course with another company and could not get above a 610 on the GMAT. A friend urged me to try Target Test Prep. Initially I was reluctant because I am not a big fan of computer based learning. Target Test Prep quickly changed my perspective on what can be gained through a computer based medium, and especially what can be accomplished online with the incredible tutor Target Test Prep has. I started Target Test Prep (TTP) on September 30th 2016 and started working with Jeff (the Tutor from TTP) a few weeks after that. By November 12th 2016 I scored a 650. This is when I started to get serious with TTP. Based on that improvement, Jeff encouraged me to have faith in the platform, follow the curriculum, and work with him. I took his advice and alongside the curriculum, I met with Jeff (on average) once a week until the end of December and scored a 710 on December 29th 2016. I know that if I continued to work with Jeff and use TTP, my score would likely go even higher, but a 710 was good enough for me and met the balance I needed between a good score and time invested. I am very grateful to Jeff and Scott for their excellent curriculum, and I am especially thankful to Jeff for the advising, encouragement, and incredible insight he provided me, and for the excellent instruction on how to solve GMAT problems efficiently and consistently. I would recommend TTP to friends, as I have already. A good friend of mine just bought TTP based on my recommendation and has started working with Jeff. A couple of our mutual friends are considering doing the same after seeing the success I had, as well as the momentum my friend is gaining already. If you are stuck on the GMAT or don't know where to start, this is the program for you! Thank you TTP for helping me put a swift end to this painful GMAT process!

TargetTest Prep is amazing. The layout of their website is clean and attractive, and is really easy to follow. They have a specific compressed study schedule for people like me who planned on taking it in a short amount of time (3-4 weeks from when I took it last). After taking the diagnostic test, I dove into the areas that it said I was weak in and started hammering away at them. Jeff was amazing at this time. Even though I had only signed up for the one-month flexible program, he still reached out to me and asked if I wanted to talk or needed any advice.

I dove into all of the tests to make sure I knew exactly where my weaknesses were. And this is where the strength of TargetTest Prep lies. It identifies where you?re weak, but it also dives into the sub-categories. What I didn?t realize, or didn?t focus in on enough, was that within each area, I had my strengths and weaknesses. TargetTest clearly indicated this on their dashboard. They not only showed how well I was doing in that subcategory, but they also linked to explanations on the theory being tested and other questions that I could practice. When I discovered that I was really weak in factorization, this was a surprise to me. But it made sense. And so I went through a bunch of their practice tests and questions, and read their clear explanations (and watched their videos too). I felt the improvement.

When I took the actual test 4 weeks later, I had it in my head that my earlier score of 640 (Q39 V38) wasn?t the worst thing in the world and that I was just going to do my best. When I got to Quant, I recognised the questions, I moved on from the ones I didn?t, the section flowed. When I finished, I was really unsure how well I did. Was it because I was that much better now? Or because I had failed? When my final score of 720 (Q48 V41) came up on the screen, I was in total disbelief. All of that work finally paid off.

I wouldn?t have got there without TargetTest Prep. It was my unifying force in those last few weeks. By helping me to focus in on my weakness, providing clear explanations and have so many practice questions to choose from, it was the answer to my problems. I just can?t believe I didn?t find it 18 months earlier when I first started studying!

All about the metrics

There's no beating around the bush- the GMAT sucks. A lot. What I liked so much about Target was their flexible preparation plan where you can pay month by month depending on your need- as well as how clean and metric driven their website is.

There's a diagnostic in the beginning so you know where you fall and how far you need to go to get your target score. Any time you do a set of problems, there are detailed answers on how to solve it, and options to select for why you got it wrong. This one feature is crucial. If you're doing practice test after practice test and not reviewing the wrong answers- you will never get better. Target has an awesome pie chart to show you exactly why you are getting questions wrong.

Finally- I had Jeff as my tutor (slash life coach) during this time. Very friendly and flexible with my schedule. I firmly believe that 80% of your score is what you do during the week on your own- but having someone to help guide you and give you a study structure can be what gets you to your goal.

Good luck!

Target Test Prep #1

Ok so I spent almost 100 hours going through ManhattenPrep and was sure I would get a great GMAT score, only to end up with a 560 (very disappointing and unlikely to get me into an MBA program).

I then stumbled upon Target Test Prep which was not only way cheaper but offered a focus on Quant unlike anything else I had seen (not even remotely comparable to ManhattenPrep, which I feel is more verbal focused).

The team was not only incredibly accessible (Jeff was always messaging me to help me out) but the course logically laid out everything I needed to tackle the Quant section of the exam.

I'd highly recommend Target Test Prep for anyone who is struggling to improve their GMAT score!

Target Test Prep has done a phenomenal job putting together their quantitative curriculum. I have worked with many other resources from larger test prep companies but none of them have matched the condensed yet extremely effective approach that TTP uses in their approach. In a few days time you will cover what other companies cover in weeks. They also have a very good focus on the type of questions that will actually show up on the GMAT versus just teaching you everything and hoping luck is on your side.

I also had tutoring sessions with Jeff, he was extremely helpful and supportive throughout the entire process. I could not ask for a better tutor and program

Jeff and TTP were critical in me scoring a 50Q on the GMAT. THANKS SO MUCH!

Hi everyone! I'm writing to you from a very cold city Moscow, Russia :)

The title of this review tells everything in a nutshell - Targettestprep is literally the only thing you need to get 700+ on GMAT!

I read a lot of reviews before choosing the right product to study for the exam. I spent a lot of time picking the right product, but, unfortunately, I couldn't choose the right one because of so many reviews and different opinions on different materials and products. Eventually, I got a recommendation to try Targettestprep, and I didn't regret this decision even for a second.

I don't even know how to express how far Targtestprep can get you. I was blessed to get this recommendation to chose Targettestprep, and as a way to give back, I want to say to you - reader of this message - don't go anywhere else, don't waste your time, choose Targettestprep and you'll get the score that you want :)

I got the score that I wanted - 730. And I just want to say that Targettestprep is fully responsible for that achievement. I didn't use any other materials to get this score.

Targettestprep breaks GMAT into several topics that fully cover everything you may encounter on GMAT. The way Targettestprep explains every topic is unique and extremely effective. You have video lessons, tons of quizzes, etc.

I also want to say that I wouldn't be able to score that high without spending time with tutors from Targettestprep - Scott, Jeff and Neil. I want to say thank you to them for their high professionalism and for all that they've done for me. When I needed help with the exam or motivation to push me forward, they've always been there. It was literally a blessing to work with them and get the best knowledge of GMAT out there.

I really can go on and on telling that Targettestprep is truly amazing :)

I wouldn't hesitate a second to recommend those guys to anyone. Thank you Scott, Jeff and Neil for the help and for your hands down best product for GMAT! That was fascinating to experience that :)

You wanna improve Quant? Stop now. This is your answer.

  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 540 After: 710

Guys, I took the test in Sep 2016 and scored a disappointing 540 (over 110 pts below my GMAT prep practice exams). I had been studying for 3 months prior to this and was pretty disappointed because my Quant was hovering around a 46, but on the actual test I scored a 42. I walked out of that test so confused..... I couldn't sleep that well the night before and I think my nerves got the best of me.

Fast forward 2 months, I took the GMAT again and scored a 710 (Q50, V35) thanks to TTP.

Okay, going back to the 540. Something was wrong... There still had to be gaps in my conceptual understanding. I remembered interacting with Jeff Miller towards the beginning of my prep and decided not to go with TTP (what a freakin mistake and a time sunk). After my 540, I called Jeff. Explained my situation and he immediately mapped out a plan. I bought the flex plan and Jeff suggested that I go straight to the chapter tests. Take 1 at a time and review the solutions carefully, he said. Within a week of taking the tests I was able to have a better handle of my common mistakes. TTP's brilliant analytics (BTW NO TEST PREP AGENCY OFFERS SUCH DETAILED ANALYTICS...NO ONE) allowed me to isolate my mistakes. More importantly, it allowed me to pick and choose my battles on the real test. I made a list of all the problem types in which I took more than 3 mins (anytime I saw those on test day, I gave myself 30 seconds, if I didn't see myself going anywhere, I guessed and moved on). This test is about picking your battles wisely. I know it sounds simple, but it's difficult to execute. TTP helped me create a blueprint for myself. Once I effectively identified my weaknesses, I worked with Jeff once/week to challenge myself on my weakest topics. This dude allowed me to challenge my thought process; he tested the core of my conceptual understanding; he found the gaps. Working with him, we filled them together. Slowly I started building my confidence again.

At this point I had gone back to all the chapters and studied my weaknesses. I used the awesome print outs TTP provides to jot down tips and tricks by topic/sub topic. TTP provides fantastic structure to the GMAT math -- they break it down to a science (literally). 2 weeks prior to my exam, I took a GMAT prep practice test -- I got a 710 (Q49, V38). I stopped taking practice tests. That's it. I knew my stuff and I just needed to perform on test day. I reviewed my notes every day. Did a few customized problems on TTP and got plenty of sleep every day.

Test day: Math section was going pretty well. I knew I did well on my first 10 problems. I took my time, but I was keeping pace. After problem 15, things got HARD, but I was catching the tricks. Nothing I hadn't seen before. All of a sudden I find myself on question 35 with 7mins to go. I finished the math section with 5mins to go....! It's crazy, but possible. If I can do this, you can as well. Just two months ago, I would find myself randomly guessing on the last 5 problems and today I finished the most daunting section of this test with 5mins to go? After I saw that 50 on the screen, my jaw dropped.

Nothing in life is easy. If you want to achieve something significant, you have to work at it. Excellence doesn't come over night, it's silently built with practice day-by-day. Don't give up guys -- persistence is key. Be patient and trust yourself. The results will come. Just focus on learning the right way -- there are no shortcuts here. Oh and while you're at it, do yourself a solid and sign up for TTP.

I wish you all the success in your preparation and I want to sincerely thank TTP for helping me through mine.

Target Test Prep is, in my opinion, far better than any of the test prep books. The website has diagnostic quizzes that allow you to identify the key areas that you need to improve on. Once the problem areas are identified, there are very comprehensive learning modules to help you really learn the material. Once you feel you have mastered the section, you can take another quiz to see if you've improved. With a short time period to improve my score, Target Test Prep was definitely the right choice.

With TTP, 620 to 710?in 30 Days!

I began studying for the GMAT back in December of 2015. I scored a 540 on my first ever diagnostic exam but was confident in my ability to learn the material on my own. I just needed to get serious and commit 100% focus, right? That?s easier said than done. I purchased and read the MGMAT books for 4 months, from December 2015 to March 2016. I became familiar with the exam, focused on Quant (since my V34 score was okay), and re-learned the arithmetic I had forgotten from grade school. But my consulting/international travel schedule was grueling.

What a terrible excuse.

The real problem was that I was studying for only a few hours each weekend ? way too casually. I gave up on MGMAT because I didn?t like lugging around the books and I wasn?t seeing improvement. A friend recommended that I watch the Magoosh videos instead. Over the next 5 months, I watched every single Magoosh Quant video, made notecards, and passed section quizzes. I learned the basics but I wish I hadn?t dedicated so much time to Magoosh. The material was too basic. I was scoring in the mid 600s on my practice exams. I took an official exam in September 2016 and scored a 620 (Q35 V40).

What a deflating experience.

I planned to apply to Top 10 schools this year. I set new test dates for October (progress check) and November (last chance). The window was closing. I went into panic mode, scouring the blogs for intensive, Quant-focused advice. I stumbled across an outstanding review about Target Test Prep (TTP) and signed up for the 5-day free trial. Jeff and Scott both reached out to me. They asked about my goals and confirmed that I knew how to navigate the program. I loved the user interface, curriculum layout, section quizzes, and personal engagement. I purchased the Flexible Preparation Plan ($99/month), took the diagnostic exam, and set my account to ?Short Study Plan.? Jeff tutored me for one hour each week, always flexible with my crazy schedule, always patient, always inspiring confidence in me. I studied diligently for 4 weeks, at least 2 hours each weekday and 8-10 hours each weekend day. I completed 33% of the course before sitting for my October exam.

I GOT A 710!! (Q44 V44). I was shocked and relieved. I decided not to sit for the November exam because I wanted to dedicate more time to apps/essays. If I had found TTP earlier, I?m sure I could have reached a 750+.

Here?s the secret to the GMAT: you have to practice every day to 1) retain the content and 2) recognize the patterns. Set a date even if you don?t feel as though you?re totally ready. A looming exam date serves as great motivation. Eat well, sleep well. If you?re having trouble with Quant, you NEED to sign up for Target Test Prep. And if you?re pressed for time (or think you could benefit from one-on-one help), work with Jeff or Scott. They?re fantastic. TTP is fantastic.

My Long Journey to Get that 710 - Target Test Prep

September 13, 2016
  • Teacher: Scott Woodbury-Stewart
  • Recommended forVerbal: No  Math: Yes
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 650 After: 710

Very few times do they tell you that GMAT is a long road and has a great deal of bumps along the way. I figured if I took the class, studied what they said, and did enough practice tests, I would be on an easy ride to my 700. Not so for me, I took Manhattan GMAT twice - once in person and once online. My teachers thought I had mastered it; in fact, they all expected I would get a 700+ in no time. Instead I would get 700-720 on my practice tests and 650 on my actual test TWICE! I kept searching online hoping to find students who went through the same thing as me, so I hope this post helps someone.

I was losing hope and fast. My friend mentioned Scott and Target Test Prep and I can't tell you the wonders it did for me. My numbers speak for themselves. After my first Manhattan class and my first official test I got a 54% in Quant. After my second Manhattan class and second official test, I got a 59%. I started using the Flexible Study Plan at Target Test Prep end of May with Scott to boost my quant score. My official test came to an astonishing 77%. I felt so confident with Math, that I think I could have done even better without the nerves from my previous tests.

Scott, himself, is a great tutor and very patient. He lead me to E-GMAT for my Verbal review. I felt skeptical at first thinking my Verbal was strong, but his recommendation did wonders. He really can see where a student is lacking and bringing the strengths out in them. I just wish I had gone to him before wasting time with Manhattan. Everything quantative that is on the GMAT is in Target Test Prep. If you study from the program thoroughly, you will feel confident on Quant.

Things I wish people told me when I started this GMAT journey 1.5 years ago:
- It takes time and consistent effort -- try and study everyday even if for a short time
- The basics are super important -- once you know the basics, with practice, the challenging problems will come easy
- Relax and don't let the nerves get to you - So many times I would forget it's just a test and I can get through it

640 to 710 (Q41 to Q48) in 6 Weeks - Target Test Prep Made The Difference!!

August 15, 2016
  • Teacher: Jeff Miller and Scott Woodbury-Stewart
  • Recommended forVerbal: No  Math: Yes
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 640 After: 710

My GMAT journey started 1 year ago with a naive outlook about the test, especially when in came to quant. I am a licensed engineer, so I would like to think that I have a good understanding of higher level math, but as my GMAT studying progressed I came to the realization that my engineering background was probably more of a hindrance than a blessing when it came to tackling the quant section. After taking many practice tests, and averaging around a Q38 I made the decision to enroll in an online Veritas instructor led program. Although this course was very beneficial in teaching the understanding and approach to tackle the test as a whole, one can imagine my disappointment when I received only a 640 (Q41) on the official exam after intensive studying through the 6-week Veritas program. I found that although Veritas is very helpful to the majority of test takers, I knew I had to try something different to reach my goal of breaking 700.

After doing some research on my own, I found that one-on-one tutoring was what I needed to reach my goal, and that the quant problems were my biggest area of weakness. I came across Target Test Prep (TTP), and after reading the reviews I initially thought it was almost too good to be true, but boy was I wrong! I decided to give it a try and signed up for the online curriculum as well as one-on-one sessions with Jeff Miller in May-2016. From countless months of studying I had gained a false sense of security in the basic understanding of certain quant problems, which I found as I worked through the TTP curriculum and met with Jeff on the weekend. Jeff quickly was able to hone in on my weaknesses within quant and explain not only where I was making certain mistakes but also why I was making them. This was the game changer for me when approaching the quant section.

Jeff worked with me, and was very flexible to my schedule, which was very accommodating. Every time we met I felt as though I was having another "Ah-Ha" moment to exploit and then close the different gaps that I had. Most importantly, the one-on-one sessions with Jeff instilled in me the confidence I needed to, and initially did not have, to beat the GMAT and reach my goal by getting a 710 (Q48). I only wish that I had just made the decision earlier on to go through TTP. Jeff and TTP really did make the difference!!

640 to 700 in 3 weeks! Target Test Prep was a game changer

August 8, 2016
  • Teacher: Scott Woodbury-Stewart
  • Recommended forVerbal: No  Math: Yes
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 640 After: 700

After studying for 10-15 hours a week for close to 4 months, I walked out of the test center with a disappointing 640 (Q42 V38). It was the lowest score I had gotten since I had taken my first diagnostic test 5 months before (550), but I can?t say I was too surprised. It was Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend and instead of feeling relieved and excited to be done with this test as I had hoped, I was panicked, dejected, and close to losing all hope that I would get the 700+ I needed to apply to my target schools for R1 this year. Sound familiar??.there?s hope!!

I began my GMAT journey at the beginning of 2016 and while I was prepared to put in significant time to get my desired score, I was optimistic I would be fine given my history with standardized tests and complex material. I work in financial services so have taken 4 licensing exams in stressful situations and also sat for both level 1 and level 2 of the CFA. My first mistake was not giving this test the respect it deserved?

I signed up for Manhattan Prep?s GMAT On Demand course and prep books. I found the interface easy to use and the videos helpful in reviewing the material I was completing in the books diligently according to the weekly schedule Manhattan Prep had provided. This was a familiar system for me as I had used it for all of my other tests?read/review material in books, watch videos online to reinforce concepts, and follow up with practice questions. I was acing all of the verbal questions in the books and videos and found the refreshers on some basic math concepts helpful. I took a couple of diagnostics along the way and went from a 550 to a 660. I plateau?d a bit on the 2nd and went to 670, but I didn?t let my nerves get the best of me. I wanted to trust the process. Fast forward to about 2 weeks before my scheduled exam and I scored a 650. I was devastated and terrified. I found the CATs frustrating and just could not crack the test questions despite doing well in my review books and the OG problems. I worked with a tutor for 1 session from Manhattan Prep out of panic. She tried to calm my nerves, but didn?t really help me connect where I was having trouble with Quant. She went through some last minute test taking and timing strategies. For $450 and 2 hours of precious study time, I wasn?t sold?but again, I was too far along to turn back and wanted to trust the process. I took one last diagnostic the weekend before the test and got a 680?ok, improvement! I was hoping I would peak on test day and all would be ok?

WRONG. I?m not a nervous test taker by any means and have always believed if I put in the work (at this point hundreds of hours and $1,000+?) I would prevail. I could not shake the nerves and doubted myself the entire time. The GMAT loves to prey on these types of test takers. I got through my essay and IR feeling pretty good. Quant started and immediately the first 5 questions just didn?t ?feel right.? They didn?t look very familiar and it was clear I just was not understanding what concept the test was testing me on within my 2 min. time limit. It pretty much set me on a course for failure?when the screen flashed with the 640 I was shocked. I was torn up, frustrated, and inconsolable when I got home. I couldn?t believe after all of that hard work, the test felt almost foreign to me. I immediately went online to figure out how to fix this mess. I needed to retake the test in 3 weeks as I would be traveling for the summer and wanted to immediately start applications after.

ENTER TARGET TEST PREP. I started seeing reviews about TTP and wandered around the site. Despite sitting for the 3.5 hrs earlier, I took the diagnostic test on TTP and quickly realized these questions were far more similar to the real test I just took than the prep materials I had been using. Not surprisingly, I didn?t do very well on the diagnostic, but I finally felt a glimmer of hope after looking through the site. I wrote to TTP and asked about private lessons. Almost immediately, Scott (the founder!) IM?d me (Saturday night of MDW, btw?) and asked to set up a phone call, reassured me we would get my score, and gave me the piece of mind to actually get some sleep that night so I could wake up and get back to work.

We spoke on the phone and I immediately felt like he understood what I was struggling with and my frustrations with the test. I told him I had 3 weeks to bring my score up to a 700+, and he did not dissuade me whatsoever. He built back up my confidence again?reassured me that I actually knew this material and could take the test, I just needed help understanding what the test was asking and how it wanted me to get to the answer. I started going through the online modules. I loved the UI and how easy it was to identify where my weak spots were. I dedicated a lot of time to get through as many of the modules as possible in such a short time, and augmented that with 3 private tutoring sessions with Scott. These sessions were incredibly helpful. Scott was able to walk through some very high quality problems and importantly, understand how I thought about problems and where I was going wrong. The most valuable part of these sessions was that he helped me prepare to solve questions that way the test wants you to solve them. This was something I felt was lacking with Manhattan Prep. I was able to refresh on basics and was solid, but MGMAT didn?t really connect the concepts with how they are hidden in the questions you get asked. TTP taught me how to identify concepts in questions and get to an answer, using solid fundamentals (not neccesairly tricks), often times in 30 seconds or less.

6/17/16 and I walked into the same test center and felt more relaxed, though not completely at ease. I was prepared for that feeling, though. Scott really helped me understand that this test is so different than any one I have ever taken. Nobody really feels totally comfortable with it?it?s the reality of an adaptive test. I got to the Quant section and started recognizing concepts and question types immediately. The ?language? felt far more familiar but, again, I wasn?t totally at ease. With that said, I still felt a significant improvement in my performance on Quant and that confidence carried over to Verbal. The test ended, I clicked through the screens and then it flashed up? a 700 (Q47, V39)!! I was so excited I practically jumped out of my seat.

I can?t recommend TTP enough. I believe MGAMT was useful in helping me review basics and fundamentals as well as Verbal. I would not spend the $1,000 on the courses, though. TTP was far more affordable ($99/ mth) and the personal attention and dedication I got from Scott was amazing. It really made all of the difference for my score. While my friends and family were supportive of me and tried their best to understand my frustrations, it was so great to speak to Scott and have him in my corner. He got to know me, my test taking mentality, and where my weak spots were in such a short period of time. I credit his program almost exclusively (except for my additional 60+ hours over those 3 weeks:) ) for the jump in my Quant score

So, if you are sitting at your computer dejected and stressed out over a disappointing diagnostic score, tough GMAT sit?whatever it is?try out TTP and talk to Scott. All is not lost, you can get to your score! If I could do it all over again, I would probably just get the MGMAT books to refresh concepts and trust the TTP process exclusively after that.

From a 380 to a 620!!

August 1, 2016

  • GMAT ScoresBefore: N/A After: 620

My journey into the GMAT started out like that of many others - I took an in-person class from a major test prep company, in the hopes that I could hit my score goal. After following that path and scoring a 380 on my first GMAT attempt, I decided to look elsewhere for help. This is when I found Target Test Prep. In March of 2015 I signed up for their quant course and also started tutoring with Jeff and Scott. Each tutoring session was based around a particular topic, and after each lesson I went back to the course and practiced that topic until I had it mastered. Compared to that of their competitors, TTP?s platform was easy to use, and they presented the quantitative sections in a way that I could understand and comprehend the material. Also, I was stunned by the usability of the course. It was obvious that the TTP team spent a lot of time and energy crafting the course to provide the best possible user experience.
When I took the GMAT in August my score improved, but I knew I could increase it even more during the Fall. I re-took the test in November and, unfortunately, my score did not improve. What was odd about my lack of improvement is that I knew I had amazing understanding of the concepts tested on the GMAT but always seemed to have an issue on test day. After consulting with with Jeff and Scott, I realized that I needed extra time on the GMAT, just as I had in high school for taking the SAT. After my application for extended time was approved, I worked with Scott to keep my GMAT knowledge fresh so I?d be ready for test day. Scott also did a great job of keeping me motivated all the way to the end. After taking the exam in March I scored a 620! I literally could not believe my eyes when I saw that score.

Without TTP, I would have given up my dream of attending business school and would have regretted it for years to come. Both Scott and Jeff truly dedicate themselves to their students and want all of them to achieve the highest score possible. Thank you, TTP!!!

Target Test Prep raised my quant score from a 36 to 49!

June 28, 2016

I struggled with the GMAT for almost a year and a half. I tried out so many different companies - Veritas, Magoosh, EmpowerGMAT...even a tutor! Nothing worked until I tried Target Test Prep. I started with a 570 in Jan 2015 and was bummed but not discouraged. I studied for 6 months more and got the same score in June 2015. Nothing clicked or was working. I decided I needed a tutor and proceeded to spend even more $$$ and still wasn't seeing a major jump in my score. Finally, in September I committed to doing a one week trial with TTP. I realized quickly that I really liked the user interface, the easy to understand chapter lessons and the chapter tests that allowed me to practice every problem under timed conditions, and refer back to the chapter for deeper understanding using chapter links in the answer explanations. By September, I really needed to get my score to a competitive enough place to apply so I chose to do the accelerated study plan in which I did chapter tests in each of the lessons under timed conditions, reviewed my answers and referred back to the actual chapter for additional insight and learning. Who would've known that in just 6 weeks of doing TTP, I'd raise my quant score from a 36 to 49! Prior to TTP, I had never seen a score above 40 on any practice or official exam! I was in awe of how far I had gotten in 6 weeks compared to the year-long study I had endured with little to no improvement. My only regret was that I didn't do TTP sooner to spare me the misery of studying for so long! I highly recommend this program to anyone struggling with Quant! I was able to pull a 690 (all due to my quant score because my verbal wasn't great) and now I'm going to Wharton in the Fall! Thank you Target Test Prep!

Thorough Prep Course with awesome videos

Having been out of undergrad 9 years by the time I decided to take the GMAT, I was really worried about my ability to perform on the GMAT math section as I had spent most of the time in my career living and breathing in Excel models.

My life: What's 7+7? Hold on, let me open a new spreadsheet!

Although I would consider myself pretty good at standardized tests, I had a tendency to do things the long, hard way. Target Test Prep ensured that I had shortcuts to get me through those tricky questions much more quickly.

Scott and team reached out to me personally throughout the course to see how things were progressing, and I found that they really made themselves available for questions and were great about following up.

Unfortunately I did not leave myself enough time to prep for the GMAT. My score did not increase, but that was no fault of Target Test Prep, as I only got through about 1/3 of the available material. My assessment is that I guessed correctly on a lot of the math questions the first go round (and was propped up by a strong verbal score). When I took the test after Target Test Prep, I definitely felt more comfortable. I was able to answer questions more quickly, and even finished a little bit early. My math score went up, but verbal suffered a bit, leaving me with the same overall score.

I'd definitely recommend Target Test Prep, esp. if you need more flexibility than sitting though an in-person course. I was able to use it seamlessly on my phone and laptop (including watching videos!) and it made it easier to prep on the go while working full time.

Achieved My Goal Because of Flexible Prep Tool

June 9, 2016
  • Teacher:
  • Recommended forVerbal: No  Math: Yes
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: N/A After: 760

Despite having a strong background in mathematics, I knew I would need something to prepare me for the tricks and nuances of the GMAT. I signed up for free trials of multiple platforms, including Target Test Prep, and found myself using (and actually enjoying) Target Test Prep the most. After roughly a week of testing out each platform, I signed up for the monthly flexible plan on Target Test Prep.

Before I started my preparation at the end of February, I took the first practice exam provided by the GMAC to gauge my knowledge level. I scored a 47 on the Quant and a 710 overall. The goal I set for test day (in May) was a 750 total score and 50 on the Quant. Target Test Prep is the sole reason I achieved my goal and scored a 50 on the Quant and 760 overall.

The curriculum is structured very well but still allows students to be flexible if they so choose. Each chapter includes multiple examples of each type of problem you may find on the exam, as well as tips and tricks on how to improve your speed in solving these problems. There are also chapter tests for each chapter that are grouped into Easy/Medium/Hard. I found it useful to do some tests after completing the curriculum for each chapter, but also to save some for later. I would go back and do earlier chapter tests each weekend in order to keep material fresh in my mind. Lastly, there are custom tests that can be generated from the complete set of problems (I believe there are more than 2500). The system even provides the option to include only problems you have previously answered incorrectly and to pick between easy/medium/hard from any chapters. The flexible nature of this system is what makes it so powerful; you can focus your efforts on whatever the weakest concepts are. It was also very helpful to be able to create a test of any length so I could practice when I had the time (on my lunch break for example).

In addition to a phenomenal platform, the support available throughout preparation goes well beyond that received from other services (with the exception of dedicated private tutors). There is a built in chat feature available on every page where you can open a conversation with Scott and Jeff to ask about anything, whether it is a specific problem or just a general prep question. I never waited more than an hour for a response from them, and many times received a response from both within 15 minutes. Absolutely amazing service!

The last thing I will mention that I found to be crucial in my studies was the equation guide they publish. They have a document that is roughly 15 pages long and includes all formulas and "rules" that are used on the GMAT. I kept a copy of this with me all the time and anytime I found some free time (in the elevator at my office, on lunch, before bed, etc.) I would review this sheet. This was invaluable as it helped ingrain the concepts into my brain.

Hands down, this platform exceeded my expectations and I firmly believe I couldn't have reached my goal if it wasn't for Target Test Prep. Don't just take my word for it, go to their website and take full advantage of the 5-day trial.

Thanks Jeff and the rest of the Target Team. I highly recommend!!

I took the GMAT for the first time in December 2014 and I did not do well at all. Both my quant (30) and verbal (29) scores were low. I studied very hard for 6 months with a tutor, the Original Guide, and some Manhattan GMAT books that were handed down to me. I purchased the Target Test Prep flexible preparation plan about 30 days before my GMAT test date, and began using Target Test Prep casually to beef up my knowledge in the harder quant subjects like Permutations and Combinatorics. I was impressed with the amount of information in the chapters, but I did not have enough time to finish the entire curriculum before taking the GMAT. My GMAT score increased 120 points because I was able to take my verbal score from a 29 to a 40; however, my quant score pretty much stayed the same. I was discouraged and burnt out, which led me to defer applying to business schools until the next Fall. I took about 6 months off and began studying again in January 2016. This time, I put my pride aside and began working through the Target Test Prep curriculum from the very beginning. I soon began to realize that my quant scores were so low because I didn't have a good grasp of the basics, and Target Test Prep was actually teaching me those basics! I made flashcards of all the "Must Knows" in the curriculum and quizzed myself any time I had some free time. I contacted Target Test Prep about their tutoring services after I had worked through approximately 25% of the curriculum. I started working with Jeff Miller and he was fantastic! Working with Jeff really helped to solidify the information in my brain. As a supplement for harder to grasp chapters, I would also watch Target Test Prep's webinars on YouTube for additional help. My quant score increased 12 points from my initial GMAT score and, best of all, I got my confidence back!

Having studied a Kaplan GMAT test prep book casually for a couple of months I took the GMAT and earned a disappointing score of 620. I then found Target and completed a focused study program that took about two months of concerted effort. Target's program provided significant flexibility and expert instruction and was integral in bumping my score to 710. I would highly recommend it.

good program

The first time I took the gmat I scored in the 93rd percentile on verbal but completely choked on the math- 38th percentile. (650) I had never done that poorly on the quant section of a practice test but it became apparent that I was just too unfamiliar with the concepts to perform under pressure.

I spent three months ~1 hour a day plus or minus with the Target Test Prep self study course. I put in my goal score and the program told me what percentage of questions I needed to master on the "easy, medium and hard" questions grouped by concept. I went through these tests by concept until scoring at the recommended level. Also, every week or so I'd take a customized test- with hard questions for the concepts I'd already studied. It was good to drill, and the lessons and selected video explanations were helpful for concepts I hadn't fully grasped.

I still was scoring 10-20 points higher on my practice tests than I did on the actual test- 62 percentile on math. That said, my verbal went up a bit and my IR was strong, so my first choice program accepted me.

I liked target test prep for the vastness of their question bank, the easily customization of practice tests and plans, and the good explanations. No other program that I was able to find allowed me to drill questions by concept, and that was what I needed to get comfortable with the material.

GMAT prep strategy

I started studying on my own for the GMAT around 2 months before my exam date. I worked through a great deal of practice problems from the official GMAT book and was scoring in the low to mid 600 range. I was not happy with my performance and even more so unsure how to improve my score. I major in math in college and so expected my quant score to be well above average. It was not until I started using Target Test Prep's course that I realized how to effectively improve my score and learn the key concepts expected of me on the GMAT. While my verbal score improved through a great deal of self practice, quant improved even more so once I realized the topics tested and my weaknesses. Target test prep's site of content and practice questions was very effective in the short time I had to pin point my weaknesses and knock out the low hanging fruit.

I was looking for a crash course on the GMAT that would allow me the flexibility and ability to study during whatever free time I could find during my consulting cases. Target Test Prep allowed me to study on my own schedule in an immersive environment that mimics what you are going to see on test day. I received an initial quant score of 44 and a total score of 700 on the official GMAT diagnostic before starting Target Test Prep, and after only 8 weeks of studying on and off I was able to raise those scores to 49 and 740 respectively for my first stab at the GMAT. As far as I'm concerned this is the most comprehensive study aid for the quant section; there was nothing on test day I hadn't seen before.

On top of the quality of the product, the customer service you'll come to expect from Target Test Prep is second to none. Scott and Jeff reached out personally several times to ask how things were going and provide tips and tricks.

Long story short: if you're looking to balance GMAT prep with a busy and unpredictable work schedule, TTP is the move

I'll keep this short and sweet. Tried many online platforms before Target Test Prep and found I was studying very hard, but not smart. First off, the online platform is great! It finally gave logic and direction to an exam that in many ways is not logical. Secondly, Jeff was a great tutor. He was very accommodating in scheduling and challenged me beyond what the online platform could. Finally a prep course that was worth the money!

Wow! I was in a tough spot the week leading up to the test. I had not prepared adequately and was relatively far from where I wanted to be. Although I was doing solidly on Quant, I knew I needed extra help to push me towards my dream score. I stumbled upon TTP after looking on Craigslist for GMAT tutors and finding Jeffrey Miller, the COO. He helped me tremendously, and through the site, I was able to establish a study plan to hone in on the concepts that were really troubling me. Within two days, my ability to complete a problem efficiently and strategically had increased a staggering amount. I knew that the program was giving me the tools and preparation I needed to reach my goal. I used TTP for hours a day, feeling more competent with the material after each chapter. Bottom line - if you need to improve your Quant score, whether you have all the time in the world or only a few days, this is the place to go! The program is easy, affordable, and helpful in breaking down each lesson into the basics that every individual can learn from.

Target Test Prep is a fantastic program. It is clear, easy to use, and didactically excellent. I wish I had found this at the beginning of (rather than half way through) my studies. As an educator, I understand how important it is that concepts build on one another. The process in which materials are learned is as important as the methods used. It had a huge positive impact on my score (and my confidence!). If anyone I knew was prepping for the GMAT I would send them straight away for this tool.

After 4 months of studying and without seeing significant progress on my socres I decided to give TTP a try. I'm not sure exactly what they did but by doing several and different kind of problems my score began to increase after the first lesson with Jeff as my tutor. I have a strong quant backgorund butI wasn't able to solve the problems in the right way nor timing. Jeff?s lessons were not hard, but they forced me to work smart and he thaught me to focus on what's rellay important. Jeff was always willing to answer all my questions at any time!
The plaftorm is extremely friendly and the lessons give you all the knowledge and strategy you need to succeed. The problems on the platform have several difficulty levels, which is great because it helps you focus on your weaknesses and get the most out of your time.
The only regret I have is not having started to work with TTP before, I only had 1 month before the GMAT and I'm sure my score would've been much higher had I joined TTP before.

The best quant preparation out there!

The first gmat course I took was with Manhattan Prep, and though the verbal score improved from my initial GMATPrep score, my quant was not getting any higher (38%). I studied for over 10 months and was getting frustrated by the lack of any real progress in the quant ( I reached 50% and got stuck in that range). It seemed that I just can't move up any more; I did all the official gmat problems and thorougly reviewed the MGMAT quant books and still hovered around 50%.
I am sharing this post so somebody else out there doesn't have to go through the whole cycle of self doubt, frustration and depression that I have experienced on my GMAT journey ( I am talking to those that have problems with the quant portion, the verbal, even though I am not a native speaker, didn't seem to give me any problems)
Just spend that damn $1 for a trial 5 day access and see why I titled this review THE BEST QUANT PREPARATION.
There are no strings attached and is not a recurring charge. I started sounding like a salesman :) but do yourself a favor and spend that freaking $1. Not that in 5 days your score will improve dramatically , but you will know why this is the best quant prep course out there. There are 20 modules that cover pretty much everything that the GMAT might throw . Each module deals with a certain topic in a very clear and effective way and in each module you have multiple tests, ranging from easy to hard and with questions that really resemble the ones on the official test. You still have to do the hard work but at least there is someone to chapparone you through the mine field that the quant section was for me. I am really grateful that I stumbled upon this course and really pissed off that it didn't happen earlier on. So it goes :)

Life Saving Quantitative Study Plan

January 19, 2016

I can confidently say that Target Test Prep truly saved my GMAT Quant score. I was about a week out from my test date and had been stuck for weeks on a plateau with a Quant score around 42-43. Luckily, I stumbled across Target Test Prep and it totally turned my score around. In less than a week, this service was able to improve my score by more than 5 points, up to a score of 48 on the test day!!! I should note that I was studying very long hours during these days. However, I think this speaks to another strength of the program: the lessons, webinars, and questions are structured such that I didn't feel worn out after only an hour or two of studying, and I actually felt like I was constantly learning and making progress throughout my time using Target Test Prep.

I sincerely wish that I had found Target Test Prep earlier, as it would have saved me quite a few headaches and whole lot of time. The structure of the program is excellent, showing you down to a T exactly which types of problems you need to work on, and then giving you easily accessible and customizable problem sets to hone your skills. I'd also like to note that Jeffrey and Scott, the guys who run the program, are outstanding! Literally within hours of signing up, both of them had reached out to me personally, and stayed in constant contact with me right up until test day. You definitely won't find this type of dedication from other test prep sites. Compared to other services where any type of contact with a real instructor costs about as much as a semester's tuition, Target Test Prep provides absolutely great value, and a great product to back it up.

Again, Target Test Prep was really a life saver for me, and without it I would more than likely have ended up unhappy with my score and be planning on taking the test again. I HIGHLY recommend Target Test Prep! It's incredibly cost-effective, customizable, easy to use, and, most importantly, it works.

After taking the GMAT the first time and receiving a 580 (Q44 V26) I was extremely discouraged. I did not think that my dreams of attending a top business school could be a reality with the timeframe I had. With round 2 deadlines less than 45 days away, I didn't think I stood a chance. I stumbled on target test prep's curriculum on craigslist and it was the best thing to ever happen for my GMAT. I could not have done it without TTP. This curriculum gives you every tool you need to feel confident and ready for the test no matter what level you are at. After all, it's self-paced. Stop wasting your time with the books, Magoosh, or manhattan and get target test prep. You will see improvement immediately and can constantly test your progress. Did I mention its EXTREMELY affordable for what you're getting?!

Best Quant Curriculum!!

Target Test Prep opened my eyes to what I actually knew well, and what I didn't. Prior to using Target I was no stranger to GMAT test prep. I took a Manhattan course, had a tutor, switched to Magoosh, used the official guide, did some self study.... and then finally found Target Test Prep. My only regret is not knowing about it sooner. The other methods I used weren't terrible... but they were no where near as in-depth as Target's curriculum. I had reached a plateau in my quant and couldn't figure out how to move the needle. Target helped my SEE the hurdles I didn't know existed and get over the hump.

I would recommend Target Test Prep to anyone looking to increase their quant capabilities especially if you have ANY weaknesses in your math fundamentals. I think Target Test Prep is superior to any other method to use for quant and will only recommend it going forward.

Also, for anyone who is looking for a tutor because they learn better in an interactive internment, Jeff Miller is the truth.

The flexible study plan allows you to asses your strengths and weaknesses and attack them head on. The course material comprehensively breaks down all the sub areas covered in the Quant section and provides frameworks for the material, tests and study guides. This allows you to focus on your weaknesses while maintaining your strengths. My instructor, Jeff, is incredibly patient and breaks down problems to their roots to help in their fundamental understandings. I highly recommend taking this program if you're looking to improve your score in a short amount of time!

TTP Took Me From Average to Awesome Quant

December 23, 2015
  • Teacher: Jeff Miller & Scott Woodbury Stewart

I cannot thank the team at Target Test Prep enough! The TTP curriculum is solely Quant focused, which was perfect for me as Quant was clearly my weakest area. The curriculum is broken down into 20 different modules and includes literally thousands of practice problems covering everything that you will need to be successful come test day. The thing I liked most about the curriculum is how detailed and thorough the explanations and lessons are. Given that I hadn?t dealt with most of the quant concepts in a while, this was a huge plus for me.

I would work through one to two modules a week, and then meet with my tutor, Jeff Miller, via WebEx for a 2 hour session to review and work through different aspects of those modules. During our session, Jeff would give me a few problems that would gauge my understanding of a specific topic, and depending on the outcome we would either work more problems on that topic or move onto the next. I?m not going to lie, in the beginning, the concepts felt way over my head, and I had serious doubts about whether I had the intellectual capability to get the Quant score I wanted. But Jeff was patient and thorough, and over time, things started to click and I began to develop a confidence and understanding that would lead me to the score I wanted. Occasionally, Jeff would recommend that I take an MBA.com practice test. Afterwards, I would email screenshots of all the quant problems to him and we would review and work through any problems I missed during our next session.

I highly recommend TTP if you need help on Quant!

For anyone feeling defeated by GMAT Quant...

December 20, 2015

Target Test Prep completely changed my attitude towards the GMAT. Leading up to my first test, I was doing self-study and using the Manhattan GMAT strategy guides. While they were helpful, I never felt like I had a deep understanding of the Quant section, and my score on test day reflected that (640 ? 35 V, 42 Q). I spent the next month doing problem after problem in the official GMAT guide only to take another practice exam and see my quant score not budge at all. To say I felt defeated is putting it lightly.

Knowing I needed to change how I was studying, I started looking for a tutor and that is how I found Target Test Prep and Jeff. I was immediately impressed with TTP?s extensive curriculum, various levels of tests, and structured study plans. With less than six weeks to prepare, I dove right into the chapters and met with Jeff about once a week to make sure I understood everything. I definitely put in my time, but I was able to get through the entire curriculum and take at least 1-2 tests per chapter before my second test. I went in feeling extremely prepared and confident and was thrilled with my final score of 720 (41 V, 47 Q).

Huge thanks to Jeff and TTP for not letting the GMAT get the best of me! Five star rating ? highly recommend to anyone who is struggling to see improvement in quant.

Guaranteed to Boost Your Quant Score

I didn't learn about TTP until a week before my test and I decided to use the trial version for last minute review. I really liked what I saw and wished I had known about TTP before to prep for the test. On test day, I did worse than any practice test I had taken. Based on what I had seen in the trial and after talking to Jeff, I decided I was going to use TTP to restudy.

What is really great about TTP is that they give you a study plan based on your current level, what your goal is, and how much time you have to study. Since I had only 1 month, I used the short term study plan. The dashboard is the most helpful tool ever; it gives you so much more insight into your own strengths and weaknesses. It shows your overall progress but it also tells you how well you understand each topic. Within those topics, you see how well you did on specific types of questions. For example, you may know Geometry really well overall, but you may struggle with circles and this tells you exactly what kinds of questions based on circles that you need to work on. It really helps because rather than waste my time studying areas I already knew, I could now focus on the areas I actually needed to work on to boost my score.

I felt like I could do well in quant but after using TTP. But after TTP, I was more than confident that I would do great. During my retest, I not only knew how to approach the problems before I was done reading the question, but also could see the tricks the test takers put in the questions. A lot of the questions seem really easy but there are hidden tricks that make them hard and because of all the practice with TTP, I saw them and knew not to fall for those traps. As long as you follow the goals in your study plan, there is no reason why you cannot improve your score.

After failing at the GMAT twice (using two other test prep companies, and studying independently), I had nearly given up. Whereas my Verbal was always hovering around the 80-90th percentile, my quant was lagging far behind. My first two shots, I managed a top Quant score of 39.

After doing some research, I got in touch with Jeff, who advised me to use the Target Test online portal.
I think, It was the best investment I made- the course is designed to lead to lead you to success. It takes you from the very basic topics and ends at the most complex questions the GMAT could throw at you.

My score improved from a low of 35 to a 42. I understand that this is not a top score, but while I was using Target Test, all I kept thinking, was "if I had more time". I wish I had found this a lot earlier in my preparation. I was never so confident going in to GMAT as I was after using Target. Unfortunately, with a hectic work schedule, I could not complete the course, but still managed to see a 3 point jump on the score!
Combine all of this with excellent customer service, both Jeff and Scott are amazing and very responsive.

I highly recommend this product!

Target Prep is ALL you need for Quant

November 24, 2015

I struggled A LOT with GMAT quant. First started with Manhattan Prep's Quant books, and wasted 4 months on them without any progress:(( And then, thanks to God, I came across TTP and used the free 5-days trial. It changed my attitude towards quant completely.

The benefits of TTP over other quant courses:
1. It is the SINGLE STUDY MATERIAL you need to prepare for quant. Whether you just started to prepare for GMAT, or struggled on it for months, TTP is everything you need for quant. The quality of lectures is exceptional, they are short and to the point, and they will teach you all possible strategies and skills you need for quant, you don?t need to purchase anything else.
2. TONS of practice questions. I think the main disadvantage of books like Manhattan Prep is a lot of theory and only 10 questions after each chapter. It is not enough! For GMAT, you need to develop and ingrain the strategies for each type of question deep in your brain, so during the test they will pop like a second nature, and for that you need a LOT of quality practice questions.
3. COST. It is definitely cheaper to buy monthly or 4-months subscription with TTP, than spending couple of hundred dollars on VARIOUS books (what I did), get no results, feel frustrated, and finally get subscription to TTP. I could have avoided those unnecessary costs, if I would come across TTP earlier.
4. Finally, the software is very well structured and designed, it is such a pleasure to use such a high quality website. You will understand once you use it:) My mood would instantly get better when I open TTP?s website :)

Speaking of my experience, as I said before, after struggling for few months, I came across TTP and started using it. Since I already had a pretty good basic understanding of quant, I just worked on my weak areas. I created custom quizzes to assess my weakest areas, and then reviewed the lecture materials with video explanations for those topics. After that, I did target quizzes until I am completely comfortable with the concept. I even can solve complex Probability questions with ease now. Before they were like space science for me ?

I came across TTP as I was looking to focus solely on Quant after my first GMAT attempt. I realized that even though I had a good grasp of most concepts, I needed to enhance my understanding and problem solving strategies for certain subjects. I signed up for the monthly TTP plan after trying out the product using the 1-week trial option.

The most valuable feature of TTP for me is its ability to breakdown my performance by subject area. The Dashboard screen provides a breakdown of my performance by subject area. I was able to examine and tackle my weaknesses using the stats. TTP also organizes the questions into Easy/Medium/Hard for each subject, making it easy to practice accordingly. I also appreciated the Diagnostic test feature, which is also organized into 3 difficulty levels. I believe that my focused study method, enabled by TTP, helped me improve from Q42 to Q50 within a very short timeframe.

My quant increased from 34 (practice test) to 47 after one month of TTP. Highly recommended if you have only a month to study like I did. It's self-directed, which I prefer, and customizable with very clear explanations and tutorials. A+. I didn't pay for mentoring, but Jeff still gave me a call after I signed up for the one-day trial. That was SO helpful in answering my ignorant GMAT questions.

The chapters are long, so I was sometimes overwhelmed given my time crunch, but they're very thorough. I'd recommend taking every chapter practice test and afterward studying only the chapters that you need to study. Plenty of questions to work through.

5 stars because Jeff was so helpful and the software allowed me to take targeted test after targeted test, which is how I best prepare. And it didn't cost $1,000 like some of the study classes. That's a plus.

There are so many different prep materials and courses to help prepare you for the GMAT, but I always felt overwhelmed trying to work through all the material and unsure if I was mastering all the skills. After taking the GMAT, I wanted to improve my score so I tried Target Test Prep. I like how all the Target Test material is online so I can turn on my laptop and study at home or a coffee shop and not have to carry any books. Also it has all the content organized in chapters so I can measure (and celebrate) my progress, and it has chapter tests to make sure I didn't forget what I learned. There is an option to take custom tests over specific chapters, and I thought that was integral for gaining the stamina, speed and confidence for the Quant section. I'm very happy to say I don't need to use Target Test anymore because I took the GMAT again and received my target score.

From 690 to a 720 in about a week!

October 17, 2015
  • Teacher: Jeffrey Miller & Scott Woodbury-Stewart
  • Recommended forVerbal: No  Math: Yes
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 690 After: 720

In late-September, I was beginning to panic about the GMAT. I had taken the test a couple weeks prior and scored a 690, which was "good enough" for most of the programs I planned on applying to, but a little shy of the program median of my dream school, UCLA Anderson. I had seemingly exhausted all of my physical resources and didn't feel as if my quantitative understanding was increasing at any measurable rate. I decided to consult YouTube to try and find some decent tutorial videos on Rate/Time & Probability, which were my main areas of difficulty.

When browsing YouTube, I found some excellent tutorials by a company that I had heard little about: Target Test Prep. I watched a few of their hour-long lectures and immediately felt that my work problem understanding had improved. At this point, I decided to reach out to the company and inquire if the 10 days I had to study would be sufficient to utilize their Flexible Preparation Plan (month-to-month). I was informed by Jeffrey Miller that the company offered a 5-day trial, and that he was confident that it was worth it to invest in a month membership to study for the remaining 5 days. Jeff was both encouraging and realistic regarding my goal of a 30 point score increase, informing me that he'd seen similar increases in the past, but that it was still a tall order. The next morning, I was off on my journey with Target Test Prep, cramming as much information as I could.

While I felt lucky to have a fairly strong grasp on most of the GMAT Quant topics, the methodology and teaching style of the Target literature and study materials proved to be very unique. The ability of their e-book to build on concepts much more intuitively than the competition helped me patch some holes in a multitude of areas while their unique testing style let me immediately test skills in the recently covered areas and periodically on older topics. This allowed me to reinforce my knowledge while powering forward at a fast pace.

By GMAT-prep standards the fact that the TTP quizzes are not computer adaptive seemed strange. However, I found this characteristic to be hugely beneficial as quizzes based on low, medium, and high difficulties allowed me to truly immerse myself in the individual question types as opposed to the CAT model which may have me answer easier topics in my strong areas only to lead me to extremely difficult questions in my problem areas. Another small but critical detail of the Target quizzes was the accentuated countdown timer on each question that allowed me to continually practice my pacing.

Beyond the curriculum, Jeff and Scott were always in contact with me when I needed help or had any questions. I was able to contact each of them through the Target Test Prep website in addition to frequent e-mail correspondence and a couple of phone conversations with Jeff regarding time-management leading up to the test, managing my expectations, and where to focus my limited hours to maximize the effectiveness of the course.

When I went in for my second GMAT, I felt much more confident than I had on my first attempt. There were few questions that I didn't immediately understand. This allowed me to spend time attacking the questions themselves instead of trying to decipher how to approach the problem. For me, that proved to be the difference between my old 690 (Q 44, V 41) and my new 720 (Q 47, V 42). The Target Test Prep instruction and curriculum are entirely to thank for my improved understanding and strengthened quant skills. I now feel infinitely more confident in my test score and am also less nervous about the application process overall because I feel like I now have an extremely competitive score.

Target Test Prep is everything and more you will ever need for the quant section of the GMAT (from zero to 730 - not a quant person)

I started to prepare for the GMAT in August and planned to take the actual end of September. I expected to score high in the verbal section but was anxious about my performance in quant. Target test prep helped me understand all important concepts and provided tons of material to master the right techniques.

After digging through the Manhattan Quant books i felt that i needed a more interactive source of study material to stay engaged. My problem was that i would just fly over sections that bored me out in the Manhattan books and ended up having no clue how to solve the problem sets at the end of each chapter.

I went on youtube for some gmat related video material ("heck, its so much better to let someone else do the explaining than reading everything yourself, right?") and found a explanation on trailing zeros - a topic almost completely neglected by Manhattan by the way. The video was clearly structured and concise. I was super happy to find out that there was an online program made up almost entirely of those videos. The best part was: target test prep offers a free one week trial period, so i was able to check out everything without the risk of losing any money.

After checking out the program for a couple of hours i was completely sold. I purchased the flexible preparation plan for 4 weeks for a very fair price (much cheaper than all other programs i found and also cheaper than the Manhattan books). There are 20 chapters that elaborate on every possible aspect of the GMAT quant section. Every small theory section is followed by a number of examples (hidden answer and explanations). There is a video explanation for every example too. All videos are very easy to follow well produced. Whenever i didnt feel like studying anymore i just ended up watching the videos and learned so much doing so. I can only imagine the amount of time needed to produce these videos..
This was exactly what i needed. Whenever i was done with a section i felt like i already almost mastered the material. There was no way to easily forget everything and just go on because you are immediately tested - no more self-cheating ;)

For every single one of the 20 chapters, a collection of easy, medium and hard questions is available. This is a ton of material. Once you are through all the questions (probably not even needed) there wont be many things left to surprise you on test day.

Speaking of the actual test: i scored a 730 with a quant score of 49 on my first try. Honestly, i felt quite down after the quant section. I focused most of my study time on the hard questions on target test prep and didn't see anything as hard on the test - so i figured i was doing poorly. Well, apparently i was wrong :) I think it is fair to say that the preparation was so good, that i was almost "over-prepared" for the real deal.

Thank you so much guys!

PS: Whenever i had a question about the program, Jeffrey helped me out in the matter of minutes. Great service, always felt in good hands!

Increased my quant score from 42 to 48 in 2 weeks

I was looking for a program to help me increase my quant score, when I came across Target test prep. I felt like I was going in circles with other material I had purchased and this material was exactly what I needed. Jeff and the rest of the team were extremely helpful setting me up with a plan and making sure I was getting the training I needed. I only had 2 weeks left of studying until my test and hadn't felt I had improved much since I took my first test, after 2 weeks of studying every day on the short program I felt much more prepared for the test. The first time I took the test I scored a 42 on the quant section, and after going thru the TTP short program I was able to score a 48. I can't emphasize how satisfied I am with the program and the level of service I received.

Target Test Prep course

Working with Jeff Miller was the best thing I did to get the score I needed. Prior to purchasing the Target Test Prep, I had been using a different method and was feeling extremely hopeless and frustrated about the exam.

The Target Test Prep course was extremely helpful for me because it allowed me to practice questions from each topic, both in between and at the end of each lesson. Additionally, I met with Jeff once a week for about two months. Jeff was very helpful. I was able to ask all questions I had, and at the same time was challenged to think critically about the problems I was given. With the help of Target Test Prep and my tutoring sessions with Jeff, I made really good progress and ultimately was able to reach the score I needed for the GMAT.

I was able to increase my quant score from 44 to 48 in 3 weeks using Target Test Prep. I had used Kaplan, OG, and Manhattan previously and could not consistently score high on the quant portion. The level of difficulty of problems, ability to hone in on areas of weakness, and ease of use of the website were all big contributors to improving my score. I would recommend Target Test Prep to anyone as an efficient way to tackle the quant portion of the GMAT.

I am a self admitted math hater. Every mathematical subject in school I either eeked by with a C- or failed and had to have many summers worth of extra work and tutors. I would strongly recommend this software because it breaks down every subject to the basics and provides a strong foundation for people who have been removed from the high school math subjects for awhile. I started off with the Kaplan test prep book and software and it really did leave me with more questions than answers. Once I found Target Test Prep and went through the free trial (well 1 dollar trial) I knew this is exactly what I needed. THEY EVEN SHOW VIDEOS OF HOW THEY SOLVE THE PROBLEMS! This is a no-b.s. review as well. I normally do not write reviews for anything but Jeff asked me to write a review if I was satisfied, which as you can see, I am more than satisfied with this platform and with the creators the best of luck at really paving new ground in the test prep field.

Target test prep is like one stop shop for GMAT quant. After taking this course, you dont need any other resource for quant. The entire course is so fantastically designed that you just need to follow it and it will take care of the rest. Tons of practice questions add to the quality of the course. Once you take the course you will realize that no quant question can scare you anymore. The course doesn't teach you cheat codes or tip n tricks instead it teaches the basics behind the topic and make you practice alot. I would recommend this course to anyone who is currently facing issues in quant and is totally confused with tons of material available. I got to know about this course towards the end of my preparation but I felt benefited tremendously during that short period also. It helped me with 3 score points from Q46 to Q49 in that short duration of my taking the course.

Target Test Prep helped get me from a 640 to a 700

August 29, 2015

I took the GMAT for the first time in May of 2015. I scored a 640 (q38/v41) and was very disappointed as these scores fell far short of my scores on Kaplan's practice CATs. I spent the next 2 and a half months becoming more familiar with the official guide material. I was still scoring between 40 & 41 on Manhattan practice CATs when I came across a testimonial of a student who had similar background and skills (high verbal/low quant scores). I had less than 2 weeks before my test but I decided to give the course a try.

I was contact by both Jeff and Scott who had me take a diagnostic test. Scott reviewed the results and contacted me immediately with his thoughts and a plan of attack going into the final 10 days of prep. As for the course itself, the explanations were to the point and clear and the ability to create custom tests allowed me to test specific content areas.

Before using Target Test prep I had taken the online Kaplan course and also purchased materials from Manhattan Test Prep and subsequently seen little improvement in my quant skills. TTP provided the platform and resources I needed to make the jump to a 700. My only regret is that I didn't find Target Test Prep sooner.

Target Test Prep is the best thing to happen to GMAT prep in a long time. Before finding Target Test Prep, I had worked with a tutor from one of the larger GMAT prep companies. Although I found this tutor to be knowledgeable, her teaching skills left something to be desired. I never quite felt great about the GMAT material, and I always felt that I was missing something important; I could never consistently crack GMAT problems. This was extremely frustrating since prior to my GMAT study, I found high-level success in my personal, academic, and professional lives. It was maddening that I could not find success on the GMAT. Luckily I found Target Test Prep through the recommendation of a colleague. Upon my first meeting with Target Test Prep, I knew that this company was different. The person with whom I spoke worked hard to understand me in great detail. We spoke about my strengths, weaknesses, goals, and fears. At the end of the conversation, he set me up with one of the company's GMAT tutors. This tutor was a perfect fit for me, and working with this tutor was the best thing that could have happened to my GMAT prep; it literally turned the tide of my study. My tutor was exceptionally knowledgeable; he knew the GMAT material and the test inside and out. Everything we covered together made sense. His explanations were clear, concise, and infinitely helpful. Concepts that were once enigmatic at best became lucid and logical. Everything we covered seemed to be of high- value for the GMAT.

In addition to the tutoring, I also purchased the Target Test Prep course. Thus, in between lessons I was able to practice hundreds of questions from each topic covered in my tutoring sessions and also move on to new topics prior to meeting with my tutor. Over the course of a few months, I made steady progress that was reflected in my increasing scores on practice tests. Ultimately, with the help of Target Test Prep I was able to reach my GMAT goal. It was a wonderful feeling to master the GMAT material and to prove to myself that I was capable of scoring in the top percentiles of GMAT test takers. I would recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who wants to master the GMAT. Target Test Prep was my most valuable asset while preparing for the GMAT.

The best resource for GMAT Quant Preparation !!

I started taking GMAT mocks after a bit of self-study and I was around 36-37 in Quant. That bothered me and I started exploring some effective method of learning. I referred many books and purchased some online material. Although these tools helped me to cross the Q40 mark, I was still struggling to get an excellent score (in the range of 47-51).

I came across TargetPrep course for Quant preparation through BeatTheGMAT forum and took a trial. I loved the way the entire course is organised. The course takes you from the easiest concept from your high school days to the toughest question you can expect on the GMAT. I truly enjoyed the course. There are also several tests for every chapter to give you an insight into how much you have actually grasped. These tests are arranged in the increasing order of difficulty. This will indeed boost your confidence. Also, for every question or example, clear explanation is given to help you understand the concept.

Overall, I really loved and enjoyed the course. I took GMAT after one month of taking this course and ended up with a satisfying Q49. I highly recommend TargetPrep to anyone aiming to score high in the Quant section of the GMAT. According to me, TargetPrep is the best resource for GMAT Quant preparation.

We all know that creating a bulletproof study plan is as difficult as it comes when we are taking the GMAT, at least that was the case for me. I spent countless hours trying to figure out what my areas of opportunities were, and almost felt defeated when I didn't see progress.

I wanted to find a way to track my progress or continuous errors, and create as many quizzes as I could based on my findings. Target Test Prep was the perfect resource for me to accomplish everything I wanted to in a study plan. I struggle with standardized tests, and always have. Boosting my confidence and skill-set for the Quant section of the GMAT was feasible through TTP. Jeff was also extremely helpful and attentive during the time I was signed up for TTP. He has even continued to follow-up!

I do have to take the test again, but with Target Test prep I am armed and ready to go. If you are looking for quant specific, targeted practice...TTP is definitely the place!

I reluctantly came into Target Test Prep after failing to reach my desired score on the GMAT for the second time. Previously undergoing other test materials and prep websites, I knew that I needed to get my quant up, but was frustrated in how other courses went about the material.

Target Test Prep changed that for me- it was a clean layout, easy to track and work through, and I indefinitely solidified my skills to take me to the next level.

The best part- learning the absolute fundamentals of every lesson, and then steadily applying variances in small, but understandable lessons. This was different from other courses in that it was a methodical progression that I understood, rather than a focus on some of the extreme variations that rarely actually make it on the test. And- it was the absolute closest question sets to the test itself, hands down.

For the folks that are looking to get down the basics- their layout is for you. For the folks that are looking to take the next step and get in the Q47-51 range, this is also for you. Their layout is great for both getting down every aspect of how to solve anything thrown at you, while also figuring out the difference in the difficulty levels of a particular question type, which changed the game for me.

I chose to simply do the self-paced study- no tutoring involved- and still felt adequately confident headed into test day. Everything jumped for me taking through the test, but probably the biggest jump was in the confidence itself.

Cheers to beating this thing.

Excellent practice problems and even better customer service

I took the GMAT about 75 days ago and scored 690 with a 44 in quant. I was not pleased with my score and ended up reading about target test prep on the forums at BTG. I purchased their monthly flexible study plan, simply so I could practice more quant problems.

The curriculum is very well designed. There are practice tests organized into three difficulties. This allowed me to take a practice test, see how I did and how I felt with the material and then decide if I needed to review the curriculum or move on to a more diffficult level. The 'hard' difficulty level is definitely harder than what I saw on the real GMAT, which is great practice.

I had already studied pretty extensively, so I was more interested in practicing different/more types of problems before my retake. There is a tremendous amount of practice problems to go through if that is what you're looking for.

I also did a couple of lessons and was more than impressed with how they presented the material. They also had practice problems to try immediately after they presented material so you could practice the concepts right after studying them, something I find extremely helpful.

I took the gmat after about 3 weeks of using the program and scored a 730, with a significant improvement in my quant score.

On a different note, I had an issue with billing that had the potential to be frustrating and I received a personal phone call from Scott personally ~4.5 minutes after I submitted my feedback to the website. It was truly amazing customer service. He was incredibly nice and is 100% focused on getting the best product to people.

I strongly recommend target test prep for anyone looking to improve their quant score. It made a huge difference with just 3 weeks of using the program.

Cheers and good luck!

Target Test Prep GMAT Quant prepared me to enter the test with confidence. In addition to teaching me a number of new concepts and strategies, the course helped me to quickly determine my weaknesses; I was able to see clear patterns in what I was consistently getting incorrect. I was then about to focus my study efforts many similar problems that the course offered. In addition to using the TTP GMAT Quant Course, I also used a TTP tutor for a few hours to help me to further strengthen my abilities. Huge improvement in Quant with Target Test Prep!

June 30, 2015

I completed a full Manhattan GMAT course and only scored a 40 in Quant (670 total) when I took the test for the first time. I improved significantly from the beginning of the course in Verbal but was extremely frustrated with my lack of improvement in Quant, even though I focused my studying heavily on the Quant section. I stumbled upon Target Test Prep and read a number of reviews from people who were in a similar situation and used Jeff's tutoring and the Target Test site to significantly improve their Quant score. I decided to give it a shot and was immediately impressed by the thoroughness of the curriculum. The curriculum walks you through all of the basics, a strategy for solving each type of problem and all of the various ways the subject may appear on the GMAT. I started doing about 2 tutoring sessions a week with Jeff, which was the perfect complement to the Target curriculum. Jeff did a great job of giving me tough questions that highlight key points and showed me easy ways to solve them. I exclusively studied the Target curriculum and practice questions and did tutoring with Jeff for 5 weeks before taking the GMAT again and improved my Quant score to 48 (730 overall). I couldn't believe how much I was able to improve in such a short period of time.

After studying for several months for the GMAT, I received a disappointing 670 with a quant score of 42. In practice, I was nailing the easy questions, but couldn't translate that understanding into medium or difficult quant questions. Target gave me the raw skills I needed by playing into my strengths and allowing me to tackle my weaknesses. I loved being able to learn a concept and test it out with several GMAT-style questions. I also appreciated being able to write my own tests to reinforce concepts I struggled with. Ultimately, I received a 46 quant score with a 720 overall. That's a 15 percentile point increase in seven weeks! Target's software is intuitive and the short lessons make concepts easier to grasp. I'd recommend Target to anyone without a strong quant background hoping to achieve a high quant score.

Highly recommended!

I whole-heartedly recommend the Target Test Prep Course. Prior to working with Jeffrey Miller, my tutor from Target Test Prep, I had worked with tutors from both Kaplan and Veritas. The other tutors managed to help me bring my score up slightly, but it was nothing as rigorous as Jeffrey's systematic approach, which increased my score by 110 points in a matter of 5 weeks. First, a bit about my background. I'm foreign-born and a non-native English-speaker. I was raised in Brazil, where standardized exams differ greatly from those in the US. The GMAT was the first test in which I'd ever been timed so strictly, and it was an incredibly stressful experience for me. Also, I physically reside in Japan, so I needed someone who had a system to work with me remotely, via Skype or some other method. Finally, although English is a second language for me, I was testing consistently higher in the verbal portion than the quantitative portion of the GMAT. I needed a good tutor who could address all of these issues. I found Target Test Prep online with a simple Google search. Like I mentioned, I'd worked with a few tutors previously, so I sort of knew what I was looking for. What immediately attracted me to Target Test Prep was its systematic approach to tutoring. What I mean by that is the Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course provides a strong foundation for the quantitative section of the GMAT. It is incredibly thorough and fills any knowledge gaps in all sections of the actual exam. This was a critical element that made the course so effective. Other tutors have good advice, good shortcuts, but none of the ones I worked with had a systematic approach to learning. My approach: I used a combination of the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course and the quant tutor, Jeffrey Miller. The course is set up for the user to methodically review GMAT quantitative material by topic ? such as number properties, geometry, coordinate geometry, etc. Since I was short on time, Jeff helped me strategize ? I took a diagnostic test, using Target Test Preps online course, and selected topics that needed the most work. I would read each chapter, do a practice test, and each week review questions I had with Jeffrey. During our tutoring sessions, Jeffrey used a combination of a white board and Skype; I was concerned that this system may be cumbersome but I found that it was actually quite effective. Through this process ? 1) study a topic; 2) take a practice test on the chapter; and 3) review with the tutor ? I was able to comprehensively cover most of my weak areas and fill in knowledge gaps. I?d like to take a minute to talk about the software ? the ?Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course.? I think it?s worth mentioning because it was an absolute essential part of my course package. My understanding is that it was developed by Scott Woodbury-Steward over a period of several years. It is a very flexible software program that allows you to test yourself on various topics with varying levels of difficulty. The questions are very similar to actual questions one would see on the actual GMAT. This was my foundation to learning quant topics ? I spent 2-3 hours on this program a day and found my math skills improve significantly in a matter of 5 weeks. This is what separates Target Test Prep from other GMAT Prep packages ? there is nothing else out there like it, believe me, I searched. I have many quant books and the material covered in those don?t even begin to compare to the depth of content displayed in the software. Lastly, I?d like to highlight Jeffrey?s teaching style. He was patient, thorough, and most importantly, really helped to develop my confidence. He was always positive, even when I wasn?t, and anyone who?s taken this exam knows that half of it comes down to being confident when you walk in the room on test day. Although very subjective, this should not be overlooked, and Jeffrey really helped in this respect. My target was in the mid to high 600s ? I jumped 110 points in exactly five weeks and hit my target. It was a grueling process ? about 20 hours of studying and 3 hours of tutoring per week. But if you?re going to put that kind of time into this endeavor, then it?s worth every penny to hire the right people to get you there. A combination of my perseverance and Target Test Prep tutoring allowed me to hit my target. Thank you guys!

The Best System for Improving Quant Score!

Originally I took the Manhattan GMAT course and thought it was very useful for teaching the basic and foundations of math. Unfortunately, I continued to struggle with some of the harder quant no matter how much or hard I studied. When I started using Target Test Prep everything changed. The way that the online system is setup is the only way to learn the quant! It creates sections of different problems types, and the repetitive nature of the learning is the ONLY AND BEST way to learn. After doing sets for each type of probelms (number properties, rate, geomtery, etc ..) it becomes like second nature on the practie tests, and the problems were very realistic to the ones from the Official GMAT practice tests as well as the real tests. Only through Target Test Prep did I start to truly learn and recognize the quant necessary to recieve a 48+ on the quant section. By using Target Test Prep, I improved my math from a 43 to a 49 and my score from a 630 to 710!

Hard work and repititiion is the only way to truly beat the GMAT quant section and Target Tests Prep offers the necessaery format to do so. By simple doing problems from the site everyday and moving from medium to hard I become 100x more confident in my math skills, both my technical appraoch and my speed, and as a result I was able to get the math score I need to achieve a 700+. In addition, I also used the tracking and statistics to monitor my biggest weak areas then had some individual tutoring sessions with Jeff that helped me really fine tune my approach!

150 Point increase in three weeks!

First off, I am a perfectionist, and for me to give a recommendation is HUGE!

However, after taking his online course, my score increase by 150 points with only three weeks of preparation. My Quant alone increased by thirteen points!

After being shocked at my new results(because I am no Einstein), I researched some statistics. According to many different blogs, only 10% of Test Re-takers receive a 100 point or higher increase. I work 45-50 hours a week and still made this high of an increase. I studied on every lunch break, two hours on week nights, and a total of 8 hours on the weekend. This course makes it easy to organize a study plan with print outs, calendars, and personalized study plans for your target score. I can only imagine what I could have made if I had longer time to prepare. The sky is the limit with this course!

This course is the only thing needed to knock the GMAT out! Be a part of the 10%. Invest in yourself by signing up for this course!

690 to 760

I could not be happier with my experience with Target Test Prep. I recently took the GMAT for the second time and improved my score from a 690 to a 760. I had been tutored by a competing (large, well-known) test prep company before my first exam, and I can say with confidence that TTP was a much better resource for me. The website is excellent, and clearly a lot of effort has been made to provide easy-to-understand solutions to every problem. I particularly liked the video explanations, the ability to tailor your problem sets, and the concise, clear TTP lessons. I would highly recommend Target Test Prep to anyone looking to improve their quant score.

With the help of the TTP GMAT Quant Course, I score a 760 (Q50) on my first try! I HIGHLY recommend Target Test Prep for any and all Quantitative preparation for the GMAT. Whether you are taking the first step on the journey of GMAT self-study or trying to identify key weaknesses and be as efficient as possible in the last week of your study, the volume of the TTP material and clarity of the explanations were exactly what I needed. I was able to work questions on every part of the spectrum of difficulty, and OnTarget was a very helpful resource that identified topics or types of problem in each lesson I was consistently missing. TTP was awesome!
