Great work EGMAT

I have yet to give gmat exam . Egmat came to me as rescue especially at the time when I was struggling in verbal section . After doing some preparation for 1 month , I gave gmat mock test and scored v23 in verbal .

After some analysis I found out I was struggling in all 3 section of my verbal especially SC and RC . Through gmatclub I came to know about egmat and after going through the trial videos, I decided to enroll for Verbal Online
The course is pretty good . SC was one of my weakest area .After going through SC curriculum and learning the strategies taught in sc section ,I started feeling more confident and SC questions seem more like maths problem to me . Understanding the meaning i feel is one the key to improve your SC accuracy . I can see my accuracy and ability improving drastically in SC . Right now its one of my strongest area .
Even though I was ok in CR initially. Prethinking strategy which I learned helps me tackle difficult problem with ease.
Furthermore , Master comprehension course is the one I loved most. They taught you how to break sentences and understand them . This is very helpful in all the 3 sections . Practicing and applying strategy again and again is currently helping me to master in all the section . I developed better understanding in RC passages .I found Verbal Scholaranium questions closest to official gmat questions and Ask an expert section in scholaranium is spot on , this feature not only helps me to clear my double but also understand problem in more depth by reading others comment .
Currently I feel confident not only because I can my score improving drastically in my mock test but also because I am comfortable in attending all 3 sections of verbal
I highly recommend Egmat to all those who are struggling in verbal section specially non-native

Best course to get through Verbal

I consider myself really good at speaking english and thought Gmat Verbal would be a piece of cake. I have never been this wrong. My horror when I got 27 in Verbal, and whatever I did I was not improving. I took this course and saw my score rise. The topics are clearly discussed, plus I love how there is a practice test after every topic to see if we are thorough. I like the fact that I don't have to go to an institute to learn and and make my own time for brushing through the topics. I would highly recommend this course to everyone!!!

Awesome Preparation Material for Guaranteed Success

Hi,

I took the GMAT on 02nd Jan'2017 just to test where I am and got 680 in my first attempt. Disappointed with my score, I started to research about the available resources to boost my score and selected e-GMAT based on all positive reviews, unparalleled quality of the free trial and recommendation by my seniors.

Being an engineer I had fair quant skills hence I opted for the Verbal Online course and can say without any doubt that out of all GMAT preparation courses available both online and offline, e-GMAT is the best. There are many unique things about e-GMAT which other courses cannot provide.

1. They try to keep things simple and straight. The way the entire course is designed helps you understand the concepts step by step and develop the core skills gradually. Eg- The SC section starts with a pre-assessment quiz followed by Basics of Grammer and Introduction to the Course. The first concept file is of the Sentence structure which is the absolute basic step before moving any further.

2. The course is interactive starts with a Pre-assessment quiz followed by Concepts and finally, ends with a post-assessment quiz wherein you can learn how those concepts are tested and the application of those concepts.

3. The interactive Visual tools with clear and precise audio from the instructor help to remember the concepts taught more quickly and also for the longer duration of time.

4. Also, e-GMAT covers all those aspects where we can have doubt after going through the subject concepts.
Various examples cover the tricky and 700 level questions. After the quizzes, you can also query in the open forum for specific doubts against each question in the quiz, also you can see the queries posted by other fellow students.

5. The learning is best demonstrated once you complete the concept courses with application tests and then try to solve the OG questions. Identifying the errors, what is being tested etc. becomes easy thus helping in both speed and accuracy.

6. The CR and RC module cannot be explained in words. The importance of both can never be overemphasized and the way the courses are designed they influence your thought process and improves the ability to understand and reason well. Initially, I had ~70% accuracy while solving OG questions or even during mock tests, now I'm at 90% accuracy all thanks to e-GMAT.

Apart from GMAT preparation, the concepts you learn help you in day to day life such as while writing an email or understanding the reasoning quickly in a business meeting, challenging the assumptions, explaining to your colleagues with sound reasoning etc.

I'm now getting 740 in the Official mock tests and have scheduled the GMAT at 25th Sep'17. I hope to score high this time, shall be posting my Official scores after the test.

e-GMAT - One Stop Shop for your GMAT prep

August 23, 2017

Have you been struggling with your verbal score ?

Have you not been able to analyze your verbal score and understand what to do next to improve your verbal score?

Look no further than the Verbal courses offered by e-GMAT.

e-GMAT is a stop shop for all your verbal needs and offers a guaranteed increase in one's Verbal score.

I have been preparing for my GMAT for some time now and my biggest roadblock has been the Verbal section. After hours and hours of practicing the Official Guide and going through the concepts available online, I had been stuck with my verbal score in the late 20s or early 30s range. Unforunately, this just was not improving and also I did not have any information or source to lean on for guidance on further improvement. Thats when I came across the e-GMAT course being offered. Initialy I was skeptical about this course and hence took the initial free lessons offered by them. I was so impressed by the manner in which all the Verbal concepts had been articulated and taught in the form of online video lessons that I knew I had to enroll for this course.

I have already completed CR and RC sections of the course offered by e-GMAT Verbal and I already feel the improvement, clarity in concepts, a more robust and streamlined approach at solving Verbal questions. The online video lessons have been prepared with utmost care where the flow of the course seems perfect from 1 video lesson to the other gradually building on concepts. Along with each and every concept, there are numerous exercises related to that concept which one needs to practice in order to attain mastery on the concept. This is perfect to have a better grip on the concepts.

If we try to look for concept files, notes online then we get all the information in bits and pieces and that offered by other instructors is either not in a proper and concise order/flow or is inadequate to be prepared for the section holistically.

Once all the concepts have been studied, the scholaranium section of the course has a lot of good quality questions for practice which more than suffice the practice needed for a score improvement.

There does not exist any other course out there which guarantees a score improvement and after enrolling for this course I now readily feel as to why e-GMAT offers this guarantee. Such is the confidence of everyone on this course.

Having already enrolled for this course and reaching the end of this course, I highly recommend this course to everyone and encourage all skeptics to at least try the free lessons offered by e-GMAT and then take a final desicion.

Thanks and All the best.

Very helpful to improve SC, CR and RC

Verbal: Live Prep sessions on approaches for SC, CR and RC are really good. My accuracy in all the three improved from 40-50% to 80-90%. The prethinking strategy for CR and understanding for SC over a time period helped to reduce my time taken in solving them.

Quant: Live Prep sessions of quant which introduce strategies for approaching number properties are really good. I can now solve difficult questions of Quant in under 2 minutes.

I am still to take the GMAT again but so far the experience with Verbal Live Prep has been very helpful.

Overall, egmat Verbal Live Prep is great for somebody who is starting from scratch, follows the instructions in the notes and videos seriously and wants to boost self confidence to tackle the GMAT.

Scary Verbal ? Not Anymore

August 14, 2017

Disclaimer: I'm going to take my GMAT in the next 2 weeks.

After I gave my 1st GMAT prep mock test and got just 28 score in verbal, I knew I needed a improve a lot in this section to achieve my projected score of 720, so on a friend's recommendation, thorough research on BTG and GC forums I bought the Egmat verbal online course. (199$. Very affordable in comparison to most other reputed courses)

Egmat has totally changed my views on how I approached verbal questions on GMAT when I first started to solve verbal questions. I used to believe that GMAT was a test of grammar and logic, with more emphasis on the former. E-gmat changed my thinking, and thank god they did.

I started with SC which helped me brush up my basics and also, being a non-native, learn many new , relevant concepts.
I have to say that I improved the most in this section and learned ways of solving questions that I would never have learned through self study or general grammar books. It is also while doing this section I realised that understanding the meaning of the given passage clearly is the most important aspect of solving any question. Complex concepts like modifiers and parallelism were explained easily in the video tutorials while the pre and post assessment quizzes were of particular help in understanding what needs to be focused on.

CR is another interesting section. E-gmat's approach and recommendation on pre-thinking has helped me massively so far. The Scholarnium is another great tool - Provides a decent question bank that IMHO contains a mix of very good and some average questions.

Many people believe RC is a test of reading speed. E-gmat's Approach in order to maximise comprehension and save time has so far proved beneficial to me.

Overall, I'm glad i took this course (I'm lazy when it comes to big books, other than OG question banks) and anyone who prefers online courses over big-fat books shouldn't think of anything other than e-gmat when it comes to Verbal.

Mock Scores:
Gmatprep 1(Unprepared) 580 V28
Gmatprep 2(Aug 2) 690 V34
Gmatprep EP1 (Aug 10) 720 V40

I'll update my score once i take the exam later this month. Fingers crossed :)

A difficult journey but achieved my target score

I was devastated after my first attempt by scoring 630 [Q44 V32]. It was traumatizing & my MBA dream seemed not be coming true. With some experts & friends advice, I decided to give 1 more shot to reach until 680 at least.

With stretched working hours and frequent travelling, I needed a course that gave me flexibility to study whenever I had the time. Based on various reviews and suggestion from a friend, I took the eGMAT online course & I wasn't disappointed in the end.

What I liked about eGMAT:
1. SOP to attack each question type:
The clear approach to tackle all of CR, SC & RC made me process the information much more clearly & in one go. This further helps in reducing lead time by avoiding going back & forth.
2. Pre thinking:
eGMAT teaches to pre think of the possible options especially in CR. This made me a lot more comfortable when reading the options, making it a lot more easy to eliminate wrong answers quickly.
3. Comprehensive SC Course:
I was never comfortable reading manhattan books on SC as many times I felt that I can't relate my learning with the actual questions of GMAT. However, the comprehensive content of eGMAT & the 3 Step methodology made even the most complex & convoluted SC Questions look easy. I also strongly feel that content of SC [grammar rules etc.] is quite comprehensive & one need not refer other sources.

Post my preparations using eGMAT, I scored a 680 [Q48 V34]. Though I have decided not to retake GMAT, I am quite sure that by continuing to practice what I learnt from eGMAT, I can further boost my verbal & overall score by several points.

You may please get in touch with me if you require any help or tips on preparation.

Cheers

This is how I improved my GMAT Verbal Score

Hi All,
I gave my GMAT last year (Q-49, V-20). I got nervous during my exam and ended scoring low in my verbal. After completing my exam, I heard lot of my fellow test takers talking about egmat and how this course added value to their preparation. Later, I got a good feedback from my friends about the same course. Egmat Online course is perfect fit for me as this coursework is conducted Online ,similar to exam format and has many inbuilt quizzes which has reduced my nervousness overtime.

I really like the way e-GMAT conducts the course with right course content, relevant examples, quizzes and ability quizzes. I would particularly recommend my fellow test takers to take ability quizzes more frequently throughout course work rather than keeping for the end. e-GMAT- Scholarinium in particular has helped overcome my nervousness with more practice during my course work. This has helped a lot in checking my current ability and fixing the same. It has certain really tough questions which test your core concepts in a very different way. This is particularly helpful for people who would want tough questions to practice so that they are ready to face them when the actual GMAT test throws one. Ability quizzes helped me concentrate more on my weak areas and concentrate more on them. I saw that my verbal improved over time(20->34). I gave my GMAT recently and got Q-48 and V-34. I see a good scope for improvement in my verbal and quant. I am giving my GMAT on 22 Sept. Hoping for the best.

I wish all test takers good luck for your GMAT and strongly recommend e-GMAT course for their preparation.

Like all non native test takers verbal was the more difficult aspect for me and within verbal sentence correction (SC) particularly. There are many concepts which were either not taught at school level or was difficult for me to recall. Topics like parallelism, Idioms and Modifiers was were either completely new or were challenging for me and this were E-GMAT excels with things like pre assessment quiz and post assessment quiz it really makes easy for you to understand where you stand. The topics are very well explained with very good and intuitive examples along with graphical examples in lot of cases. Along with this scholaranium (test taking platform) helps you assess how you do at various difficulty levels. All along I would like to say it is certainly very well designed and will certainly help improve improve your verbal a lot.

JUST WHAT I NEEDED - MAKES GMAT A CAKE WALK !!!

August 7, 2017

I am a working professional. I have been out of touch with actual Math and English study since about 5 years after my college... This was the primary reason I was not sure to take up this exam. When I was introduced to this course by my friend, i thought of giving it a try.

From day 1, each chapter has been fun, due to its ease in language and interactive videos. Each concept is covered in great detail. The well organized structure of the course and simplistic language of explanation is what made this course a perfect choice for me.
Each chapter includes following:
1. A well drafted Concept File
2. Concept Application File with Questions
3. List of OG Questions numbers

Initially (before i started studying) when I had taken up the Diagnostic Test, I was barely able to solve 40% of the questions. That is when i thought i cannot even cross 500 on my score.
On starting off with my studies with e-gmat, I could quickly start to re-collect the basic concepts and grasp the methods for effective solving of the questions.
Midway during my preparation with the E-Gmat course, I took the GMATPrep Test. I could cross 600 with ease. That is when i realized this course is helping me really well.

I shall definitely re-commend this course to all GMAT applicants, especially working professionals to refresh and strengthen their knowledge of Math and Verbal !!!
All the Best everyone!!!

An excellent course with extra-ordinary SC lessons

August 5, 2017

Irrespective of the competitive exam, the 'Verbal' section has always been a nightmare for me. Almost one and a half year back when I attempted the GMAT for the first time I realized that the 'Verbal' section continues to haunt me. Even though I scored 49 in quant, my verbal score was abysmal. I did not loose hope as I knew that my preparation in verbal section was not up to the mark. I was content that my quant skills are pretty fine and I just need to work on the verbal part. Within Verbal section, my CR was pretty good for unknown reasons but I struggled big time in SC and RC. I started studying for my second attempt and used several books which were suggested on the internet. 'Manhattan SC Guide' & 'Aristotle SC Grail' are two of these. I worked mostly on SC, RC was still average and on a fine day I used to answer many RC questions correctly, but I did not study specifically for the RC section. I got the GMAC question pack and tested my skills in SC section, I started to get more SC questions correctly, but somewhere in my mind I was still not confident on my SC concepts. As I wanted to join a college soon, I appeared for the GMAT again, 5 months after my previous attempt. I was not utterly surprised but a bit disappointed that my verbal score improved by just 2 points hardly making any improvement to my previous course. At times, I almost thought that I should give up the idea of GMAT. But 2-3 days later I thought of continuing my battle with the verbal part.

I discussed this with one of my friends who too was preparing for GMAT and he advised me to check the 'e-GMAT Verbal Online' course. I did attend few free sessions conducted by Rajat/Payal, but it was their team's explanations on this forum which made me to try their course. As soon as I started their course, I felt a difference. Somehow, their course structure helped me to understand the concepts better than those highly recommended books. Topics such as structure of sentence, modifiers, verb-ed modifiers, verb-ing modifiers etc are covered really nicely in their course. Especially the modifiers part which is explained in other books using confusing terms such as gerunds, infinite verbs etc. The SC section has been really well covered in their course and takes up significant time to complete it. I did go through their CR course but did not want to experiment much in this section as I was already doing good. Though I have started to focus on 'pre-thinking' strategy more now and this strategy has improved my accuracy. For RC, the key strategies have certainly helped me to attempt the RC questions with better accuracy.

Another good thing which I liked about the course is 'Scholaranium'. It has a huge question bank with questions which are quite similar to actual questions and this platform helps to create custom quizzes to test your skills. It also very intelligently presents the data in an analytical form which demonstrates your weaknesses and strengths. But I felt 2 minor drawbacks which I will try to give as suggestions to the course makers. First, while creating the custom quiz, the RC section always appears at the last, unlike the actual exam where they are jumbled with questions of other sections. Second, the time limit for custom quiz is maximum 75 minutes. This restriction does not allow you to focus on the accuracy part in the initial stages of the preparation. I would like to have few extra minutes so that I can attempt the questions without hurrying. I do agree that actual exam is of 75 mins, but in the initial stages of preparation, few extra minutes help to focus on the accuracy.

I am yet to give my third attempt which is scheduled in a month's time and I feel that I will do a lot better this time and achieve the desired score. I have seen immense improvement in verbal section, especially in the SC part. I hope that my battle with verbal gets over soon and I will make sure that I share my score with you guys once I am done with the exam. For now, I can definitely recommend this course to those who want to conquer verbal. Especially to those who are non native speakers. Rajat & Payal, being from Indian background, do understand what it takes to make the non native speakers understand these concepts.

Please do not use this review to test your SC skills and kindly ignore any silly mistakes those I might have made. All the best ! :)

Improved and still improving

Hello,

I enrolled to EGMAT after taking my first GMAT test in which I got 560. I saw a good improvement in my approach and concepts within 3 months. My score got improved by 50 points in a month of preparation. I am still working to improve my score and I am pretty confident that I can score somewhere between 680 - 700 with 2 more months of preparation. EGMAT helped me to build a conceptual approach towards questions (both in verbal and quant). Although it seems to be in beginning, their approach is not time consuming at all.

EGMAT verbal course is very well organized with online lessons and live sessions which cover all the concepts needed to handle the test. Being a non native English speaker and not having a solid background in the language, I took more time to improve (and still improving) but I am pretty confident that I can improve from my initial V28 to V38 with the help of the EGMAT online verbal course. At present my verbal score has already improved to V32.

EGMAT quant course is quite interesting specially for those who lack concepts understanding in this section. The online lessons and live sessions are very helpful to fill the conceptual gaps and most importantly to improve the clock performance. My quant score improved from Q38 to Q46 within 3 months of part time preparation. I still got 2 months to attempt my third chance and this time I think that I can hit Q48 or more. The best part about the preparation with EGMAT quant is that time is not a constraint anymore for me, I can handle most of the 700 level questions within 2 minutes.

Finally, I would recommend EGMAT for those who want to build a conceptual approach towards GMAT, the approach which according to me is very crucial to improve one's score. I think that the amount and speed of the improvement depend on the time allocated to the preparation as wall as on the educational background of the individual but the course is very well designed for GMAT aspirants of all levels.

The Yoda of GMAT Verbal- egmat

The first time I attempted GMAT I wrote it without any coaching. I went the classic clich?d way :
1. Bought an OG
2. Bought Manhattan GMAT SC,CR and RC
3. Slogged problems on GMAT ( Buenel and BB practice sets)
4. Wrote free Mocks
End result : a disastrous first attempt.
The absolute shocker was my verbal score. And the first thing that came to my mind was that I had to improve in verbal so after reading a lot of reviews on GMAT Club and attending the first free webinar for SC from egmat I decided to give it a try and enrolled for the GMAT Online course. The best part about this course is the organized step by step approach to explain things. Heads up, the videos require a lot of time but they were totally worth it as it helped me understand the every detail also a step wise approach to solve the questions. I liked the videos for both RC and CR. By the end of the course I was very confident in attempting the questions.
While enough is already said about the course content, I believe the magic flavor is the scholarnaium. Scholaranaium is like a war practice zone where you can sharpen your saw. The best part about scholaranaium is that it acts like couture, you can tailor make the quiz according to your flexibility, this gives you an option to hone your skills at your own pace. We all know that reviewing and analyzing is the most crucial part of any quiz , and this is where scholaranaium helps you the most. It gives you the most awesome explanation by following E-Gmat?s three step process.

All I can say is Do give E-Gmat a shot, you wont regret it.

I took the gmat once and got very low score on verbal which was my weakest area. After that my friend introduced me to e-gmat. So I enrolled e-gmat Verbal Online course.

Before e-gmat, I was very bad in time management and accuracy of SC. I spent much time to ace 1 question(around 4 mins per question) and my understanding about SC is only about correcting the grammar which is not true. e-gmat teach me how much important to understand the meaning of question especially when you ace the harder question. Moreover, SC course is structured well by break down in several topics so you can focus more on your weak area. The best thing is about the way e-gmat taught me to approach the question which can help me save much time to get the right answer. After study, my SC accuracy has improved and time consuming per question is down to 1.5-2 mins on average.

After go through SC/CR in verbal online prep, I found e-gmat is the best course to ace verbal. From my experience videos lessons cover all the fundamentals required to ace the test. The self-study course also fit my study method as I can pause and take time to understand more on some concept or fix my error before move on.

I would really recommend e-gmat for those who need the big improvement on verbal.

e-GMAT Vebal Online: The light at the end of my dark tunnel.

Hailing with an engineering background from India, I never had any problem with my quants section and I always managed to score a 49 in my quants. However, the verbal section was always a nightmare for me. I was keen on studying on my own by using MGMAT's and Kaplan's course books. A year and a half of my preparation had passed by and I made a good progress(or thats what I thought then) of reaching V 31 from a mere V 20. But somehow I was never confident about my verbal and I could not, in my dreams, think that I could get above V 35.

I initially ignored all the promotional content of e-gmat that said "Ace SC/CR/RC in 10 days". After a year and a half of self study I realised I needed help and I just happened to click on their promotional ad. And BOY was I right !! I went through their free modules and realised that I had missed the entire basics and methodology. Without hesitating even for a sec, I went ahead and bought their verbal online package. I started out with the SC modules and trust me, I did ace SC in LESS THAN 10 days. My number of mistakes went down to less than 3 mistakes per exam. CR and RC needed more patience and practice, but it did bring out a massive improvement. I eventually started to score V 40 any mocks and landed up with a V 37 in my main exam and score the coveted 700+ on my GMAT.

I would truly recommend e-GMAT's verbal course to anyone who is a non-native speaker and it is, without a doubt, the BEST verbal prep and no other prep can even come close to the level of understanding and emphasis on using the methodology that e-GMAT provides. Not to forget their excellent support team, that always extended their help when needed.

KUDOS to everyone at e-GMAT !!

SC & CR generally have well defined topics within them and those of course have been covered extensively, but I was personally amazed with their RC since that's one area where one always wonders what needs to be really 'studied' other than practice. But wait until you go through their RC course and you'll know there's so much more to learn in RC.

Focus on Processes - They have a well defined process for SC, CR & RC too. The SC & CR are flagship courses anyways so I don't think I need to say anything about them other than the fact that their SC course with their 3 step meaning focused approach not just unique but also extremely accurate and reliable to solve SC questions. And Pre-thinking on CR works like a beauty no matter what the difficulty level of the question is without cluttering your head with the wrong options.

Helpful Faculty & Support Team - Rajat, Payal, Shraddha, Chiranjeev, Krishna and others are the people who make e-GMAT what it is today. They are all full time dedicated instructors who have great knowledge of their respective subjects, some of whom have cleared the Indian CAT too with 99.99% scores. They are extremely helpful and responsive over email unlike some other prep companies' instructors.

Support Staff - The support staff is also extremely helpful whenever one has any technical issues with the course/platform etc. They offered me extension at very nice rates so that I could complete my prep without having to worry too much about course expiries.

Although I'm yet to give my GMAT but to give you a pointer I have improved my GMATPrep mock scores from 34 to 39-40 range.

All in all, I think its the best course for anyone for their GMAT Verbal Prep needs.

Clear your concepts from the basics!

Hello everyone. Before going into the course feedback, I'll like to tell about my background. I am an engineer with a work experience of 2 years. I had appeared for my first GMAT attempt in early 2016 and scored 660 on it. I realised just after the exam that I needed to clear my basic concepts before having a try again on the GMAT. I researched a lot about the best verbal courses provided by different institutions. After a lot of research and positive feedbacks on the e-GMAT course, I decided to go with the Verbal online course.
Coming to the course, I really didn't expect it to be so good! We have different sections for RC, CR and SC. In each section you have the topics broken down and video lectures for each of the topic. They will explain all the intricacies in detail. On top of that, they have tests at the end of each topic you just learned. This was the icing on the cake as you could test your hand on the topic just learned. On top of all this, you have the verbal scholaranium which is essentially a question bank. You can practice from the scholaranium in any section you want or you can take a verbal ability test, similar to the actual GMAT test, which contains questions from all the sections and is a 75 minutes test.
The course significantly improved my basics in each of the sections. It told all the details that you should keep in mind while answering any question. It has a proper flow that you can follow to arrive at the correct answer choice.
I would highly recommend this course to the people who are thinking about taking up online verbal courses. It's a no-brainer to go with e-GMAT's Verbal online course.
Happy studying and all the best folks!

Improved Verbal skills

I gave my first GMAT exam without any coaching or without enrolling into any course and had a low score of 530 Q42 V20 and the first thing that came to my mind was I need to improve my verbal skills so after reading a lot of reviews on GMAT Club and attending the first free webinar for CR from egmat I decided to give it a try and enrolled for the Verbal Online course. The best thing about this course is step wise approach to explain things. The videos require a lot of time but it was worth it as it helped me understand the every detail also a step wise approach to solve the questions.I liked the videos for both SC and CR and after going through all the courses my accuracy for SC improved from 45 to 80%. Another feature of this that I liked was the scholaranium wherein I could practice and improve my performance.

Master SC to ace GMAT

One of the key things that I would recommend to anyone who is planning to take GMAT is that don't go looking for additional practice material beyond e-GMAT, which offers a thorough and comprehensive course that covers all the fundamentals required to ace the test. Moreover, the way the tutors help you dissect even the most difficult questions helps you a great deal.
From my experience while preparing for GMAT, I feel that for anyone who is aiming for a 99 percentile in Verbal, SC is going to be the key for moving past this hurdle. Master the concepts quickly and then focus on the application. It?s not simply about learning the concepts, but rather applying those concepts effectively in a test environment. e-GMAT?s approach to SC can help you master this strategy.
SC: Covers all the fundamental rules that are needed to do well in SC. I felt that the SC videos were very engaging and interactive as they explained the grammatical concepts in plain "English". One strategy that stands out is e-GMAT's strong emphasis on meaning. It may sound trivial but it is one of the most helpful approaches for SC, especially when you are dealing with 750 level questions. In most difficult SC questions, you may often have two grammatically correct options, and in such cases if you blindly follow the grammar rules you may end up picking the wrong answer. I couldn?t emphasize enough on the usefulness of the meaning based approach that e-GMAT encourages.
I also benefited a great deal from Scholaranium, especially from the detailed explanations. Because of these explanations, each question can effectively serve as 5 questions (Identify potential errors in each of the options). I don?t recommend that anyone do this during the exam, but while practicing I felt that it helped me excel in SC.
CR: CR course is more about following a particular approach. Unlike SC, there aren't many concepts / rules to learn. e-GMAT helps you master a process that enables you to avoid falling in common mistake traps.
RC: Mastering reading strategies is a must. And e-GMAT's course puts strong emphasis on that.
I can confidently say that e-GMAT can give the means to achieve your target score in an efficient manner. Its coursework will give you enough practice material, save you time as you won't need to run to "N" number of sources for practicing good quality questions, and thereby giving you the opportunity to do the best you can on GMAT.

Best Online Course for Verbal Prep

July 27, 2017

E-GMAT Verbal Prep is the best online verbal course that I have come across. Those who need to clearly understand the grammar concepts then E-GMAT is the course for you undoubtedly. The concepts covered have immensely helped in my preparation.

As soon as I had enrolled in eGMAT Verbal Live Prep (VLP), I was provided with a very detailed and systematic study plan that I should follow. This plan kept me in check all throughout and made sure that the proper foundations were laid before advanced concepts were introduced. I have no qualms in accepting the fact that I could have obtained a good score in my 1st attempt itself had I not deviated from the methods taught by eGMAT. The tutors were very helpful be it moderating strategy sessions, providing lectures via pre recorded videos or answering to the questions posted on online forums and their own question forums. The articles covering various concepts in SC, CR and RC were very well written and have been appreciated by many online forum goers.
I started with SC and I was amazed to see how seemingly straightforward concepts such as subject verb agreement, modifier and parallelism could be used to make difficult questions. Herein lies eGMAT?s greatest strength: to break down seemingly impossible to understand SC prompts into smaller segments and then analyze in detail each component of the sentence. The videos started with simple concepts and then finally went onto more advanced concepts such as modifiers and parallelism. As a non-native English speaker with exposure to English from a very early age, I was confident with my grammar rules but I was proven wrong by the diagnostic GMATPREP CAT. eGMAT showed that there is a method and logic behind every step even in SC and that if you are systematic with your approach , you can tackle toughest of SC questions with absolute ease. The insistence on understanding the meaning of SC prompts removed my fear of completely underlined sentences and led me to high timed accuracy in OG,GPREP qbank and exam pack 1. I realized the importance of following a set method to tackle a particular question type only after my 1st attempt, until when I used to employ brute force methods. eGMAT showed me that there was elegance in the ways to tackle the different questions types and subtypes. The videos were very clear, I was able to play them on any media be it windows or iOS without any issues, pre and post assessment quizzes were of particular help in understanding what needs to be focused on. One of the most useful things in their videos was the ability to see the ?summary? slide that will summarize the contents of the preceding video.
Once I got a grasp of SC, I moved onto CR, following their detailed schedule and again saw that there was set method to every CR question type. The focus on understanding the conclusion, how premises relate to the conclusion, ?PRETHINKING?, ?NEGATION TECHNIQUE? etc techniques were hugely helpful. The videos started with the topic at hand, followed by some very thoughtfully crafted question to cement what was covered in the videos. Prethinking enabled me to understand the scope of the question, the relationships between elements in the CR prompt and understand why the incorrect answer choices were incorrect. In GMAT, every incorrect question is wrong for a particular/solid reason. If you are eliminating a choice without that reason, you will end up choosing incorrect options. eGMAT CR provided the tools to understand why is an option incorrect, be it out of scope, similarly worded but incorrect option, partially correct options, opposite choice etc. Unless you understand how GMAT can give you incorrect options based on above reasons, you will not be confident in choosing an answer (my situation in the 1st attempt). Again, I only realized the importance of applying a set method just before my 2nd attempt. eGMAT?s focus on breaking down any argument into its respective elements, understanding the linkages and prethinking provided you 70% of the total work required for answering a question correctly. Rest 30% would come from POE of options provided. I was able to increase my accuracy in OG CR questions from 55% to 90%+ with eGMAT?s CR module.
The 3rd step was finishing the RC module which again taught a couple of useful tactics to be an active reader and to be involved with the passage. eGMAT RC also provided the tools to understand why is an option incorrect, be it out of scope, similarly worded but incorrect option, partially correct options, opposite choice etc. Once you became fully engrossed with the passage (by following eGMAT?s advice), finding the correct answer via POE became very straightforward.

The best thing is the sample questions that are given after each concept to firm up your learning and the volume of questions in Scholaranium. The level of question range from easy to hard giving you the flexibility of choosing the difficulty level using custom quiz, which I have used the most in Scholaranium to track my improvement.

Another best thing about E-GMAT is the feedback that you get from the instructors, who have been very quick in responding to every query and their responses have been very detail too.

My verbal accuracy and ability have improved since I started using E-GMAT course and I have my actual exam in 4 weeks time, but I want to give this feedback on the course so that it might help those who are still wandering about the right course to choose to ace the verbal.

Definitely I recommend to those who are looking for a self paced course with good question bank to practice.

Thanks!
