Verbal improvement

E-GMAT Verbal online course has helped to improve my verbal skills. I have found SC videos very helpful. These videos helped to understand the importance of meaning and logic in SC. Earlier I was just thinking we just have to learn only certain grammatical rules to perform well on SC. E-GMAT SC course has helped me improve my verbal accuracy from 50% to 80%. CR videos which focused on pre-thinking has helped to apply the process taught more effectively and logically connect the information given.RC strategics also helped to understand the passage more effectively and anwer the questions effectively.

Great course that helped to drive with strategy in the test !!

I have taken Magoosh gmat course, but my verbal score in mock tests never crossed 32. So, I have decided to move on with a other online prep course which would help me understand the verbal concepts at a granular level and I was glad I found e-gmat verbal live prep and online course. After taking the course, I felt really confidant as my score improved a lot. The best part of the online live prep course was not jus about the concepts, but about studying with a strategy and Rajat really helped me to decide on one. I would recommend the e-Gmat online live prep course to everyone who want to score more than 90 percentile not limited to just non-native english speakers.

E-gmat is a one stop solution to the GMAT puzzle

September 28, 2017

I gave my gmat exam back in September 2016 and got a dismal score. I say this with utmost honesty, the moment I saw my verbal score (V27), I was ashamed. All my convent education and good communication skills came short of the mark. This incident hit me hard. I decided to prepare again but due to personal problems I had to take a break of 6-7 months before resuming my prep.
It was then that I got introduced to e-gmat. I started with the Online prep but something was missing. The missing link was the power that the Verbal Live Prep gives you. In a few days I understood that my entire approach towards the process was wrong. Verbal Live prep structured my prep in a way that I started understanding the questions better. For example, when I was introduced to Pre-thinking, I had a hard time understanding the logic and the time it takes seemed far fetched. Today when I am a few weeks away from the D day, I know how powerful a tool is Pre-thinking. Similar was the case with RC. Earlier I used to underline the RC passage in my OG, read it thoroughly, go back to the passage when I answered questions. We all know doing that on a gmat exam is not smart. Post the RC prep course, I saw a huge improvement in my understanding. Today I take 6 mins to solve a long RC passage with an accuracy of 90 %.

I see egmat as the one stop soln to the gmat puzzle

e-GMAT Quant Live Prep - Worth every penny

I have taken the eGMATs Quant Live Prep subscription from Feb 2017 and Im extremely satisfied. The Quant Live Prep includes the Quant Online as well. eGMAT has categorized all the topics in math into 5. They have covered every possible topic in these 5 categories. It is advisable to complete the Quant online before attending the Quant Live Prep. The online classes are scheduled for weekends which worked perfect with my schedule. The instructors were very knowledgeable and through in each and every topic of discussion. They were really slow in explaining concepts and it helped me grasp the intricate details of certain methodologies. The polls during the classes will help you analyze the common mistakes that you make. The PDF that was delivered had the most difficult problems and it made me well equipped for 700 level questions. A lot of shortcuts were discussed during the live prep course. I liked the way how e-GMAT solved Data Sufficiency questions. I mastered the art of deriving information from the Question stem. Overall, the 2 hours of Live Prep course on every weekend was worth every penny that I spent. As long as you can stay motivated, e-GMAT offers far more value than any other course out there. There are lessons covering the most basic topics, and video solutions to every problem on the site ranging from beginner to advanced.I would encourage every GMAT aspirant to register for one of their free webinars and get to know more about e-GMAT Quant offering.

Things which I have liked the most are:
1. Sentence de-structuring to understand the highly complex sentence makes it easily for anyone to understand the three topic: RC, SC and CR.
2. Question de-structuring and three step process to solve the question are the best. It provides you the framework to tackle the question in a structured way.
3. Video content is best. Structure is so easily written that anyone can understand even the difficult topic.
4. Every topic in each section, RC, CR and SC is followed by test questions, which help anyone in honign the concepts.

I would highly recommend E-Gmat for Verbal online. Scholarinium provides one of the best collection of questions. You can practice in an timely manner with all the difficulty level questions.

The Must-go Verbal course for struggling Quant Pundits!!

September 28, 2017

Hey there,

Having been through that excruciating pain of Scoring a Q49 and and only V18, I had no idea what went wrong with my verbal prep. I was very sure that I prepared well and worked very hard for verbal, completed OG's and solved tons of questions from various sources ( free ) online.

After suggestions from few friends from gmatclub, I happened to enroll myself to E-Gmat's Verbal On Demand Course. This was the best decision of my entire MBA journey.

I will just list down what it has and what it doesn't.
1) THE BEST organised course structure making it easy to access any concept when needed. - This gave me a proper direction for which, anyone could just blindly trust E-Gmat. Perfect for everyone who keeps losing one's direction during GMAT prep ( I know tons of people to whom this happened)
2) Covers every module ( SC, CR, RC ) from the basics by addressing every minute concept. - This helped me realize in how many ways I was wrong concept-wise, strategy-wise, timing-wise and a lot more.
3)Tests us at the end of every concept.
4)Scholaranium - A feature that allows us to test our verbal ability anytime we feel the need for it. This has a pool of questions, which are very much inline with the actual GMAT - not just with respect to the content but also with the look and feel. Every question is provided with an explanation. We are given a choice to take tests in many different combinations ( among SC, RC, CR, Easy, Medium, Difficulty ) or to take the system generated ability test directly.
5) It has a feature that assess our stand with verbal in many different ways.It threw many different statistics that saved me a shed-load of time and gave me clear understanding of where I lack in seconds and what concepts I need to work on.

What it lacks.
1) Heap loads of repetitive Questions testing you on the same concept.
2) Unoriginal or copied content, questions or explanations.
3) Time consuming navigation and incompetent statistics.
4) Irrelevant or any far from GMAT-like content or questions.

I would suggest E-Gmat verbal for it helped me understand how to master the concepts first and then master the time-management with an actual GMAT like environment. This course definitely boosted my confidence in my verbal ability and love for GMAT test.

Thanks,
Jyothi

EGMAT Verbal online prep review

I am yet to give my GMAT exam but i feel EGMAT is the best verbal course I have come across till now. I have started with SC and the videos are amazing. Each concept has been explained superbly and every video is followed by a post assessment quiz, which immediately tells you your level of understanding. The RC videos are really helpful as well. EGMAT provides you a number of key strategies that you must keep in mind while reading through RCs. The one strategy that works for me is " to get immersed". I literally tell myself at the beginning of each passage that "Oh! This sounds interesting let's read what happens next!". Initially may be I was very lazy or did not understand the importance of making the notes but now having done so I would strongly recommend that everyone make para summaries for each paragraph and the technique helps immensely. You would see a lot of improvement in the main point questions. I feel to do well in verbal I just can't go on internet and start doing any verbal questions, they should be pertinent to the gmat too and scholaranium provides just that. . For verbal scholaranium has around 700 questions and completely covers the verbal spectrum of the GMAT. I have benefited from the CR section of the scholaranium a lot. The expert discussions that follow every question clear all your doubts. And in SC I would recommend to review even your right questions because each SC question can have multiple concepts in it.
I would submit a complete debrief once I am done with my GMAT and will also share my score. But from my past experience( as I have given gmat once) I can surely say the questions in scholaranium are very close to the real gmat.

The course renders well to all Verbal learning needs for the GMAT.

From the basic of sentence correction to the intricacies involved in critical reasoning, all are very well explained.

The division of the course starting from the master comprehension gives a framework to approach the real GMAT questions further the approach of understanding the meaning of each sentence, the essence of each paragraph and the purpose of an entire passage help the student understand all the basic concepts required in answering the SC, CR and RC questions. One builds on these basics for the advanced concepts which follow in the course.

One of the best parts of the course is the application files section which gives a detailed explanation of the errors in each incorrect answer choice and the reasons for which a particular choice must be rejected. This indeed equips one enough in looking for the plausible errors in the answer choices.

All in all if one religiously follows the course it helps in enhancing one's level in Verbal not only for the GMAT preparation but overall as well.

I decided to finally stop thinking about applying to business school and actually do it. I had been casually studying for the GMAT since about mid-Jan focusing only on Quant. After 3 practice tests I saw 0 increase in my score. I finally realized I needed help in this section & my friend recommended me eGMAT Quant Online, cause personal tutors were too expensive and the other online courses would not let me go at my own pace/focus only on quant. So I finally signed up for the free trial. After completing all quant topics, I was already seeing results, so I signed up for the full Quant Online course. I cannot say enough about how great this tool is for my quant prep.

It is a great tool that allows me to study on my own schedule. I really like its score estimate and a percent completion tracker. which helps me to focus/work more on my weak areas. I used to get confuse in Data Sufficiency questions, but eGMAT Quant Online teaches you how to analysis the problem & help them to solve with easiest way.

The structure of the eGMAT Quant Online is very nice you go through different topics according to your convenience. I personally feel eGMAT believes in building the foundation & filling conceptual gap of yours for any topic. It makes your concept so strong about any topic, so that you can solve hardest question with ease.

What I like most about eGMAT Quant Online preparation is the tips they give to answering the questions. It is not right to rely on your intuition, you need to know the rules and answer exactly what is asked. The tricks that GMAT may use to make you think the wrong answer is right are also discussed, which helping me a lot in my preparation.

Overall a excellent product & it will drastically help you with your Quant preparation.

Definitely a perfect course, especially if you are on a budget

I literally countless hours of self-studying to just increase my mock exam scores. I opted for the Verbal Online course as i had certain time constraints and i was on a tight budget. My search for best prep option started with keywords like "Best gmat verbal courses for GMAT", "Can i ace GMAT without coaching" etc etc etc.. That's how i actually came across e-GMAT. Then i consulted with few of my friends who once were in the same boat as me (Strong Quants, "Trust your ear" Verbal ). But i got a good feedback from them too.

Finally, i trusted my guts and went with e-GMAT. Videos were of high quality, and tutor was able to break REALLY complex problems into smaller and easier-to-understand pieces. Loved each and every module. For me the best thing was : I actually started looking forward to practice some more questions and covering couple of more modules each day. It helped. In couple of weeks, i was able to answer questions easily and above that, i knew why i am crossing off a particular option.

I definitely will recommend e-GMAT, especially if you are on a budget.

The most comprehensive quant course

Hi everyone,

Being a non native speaker, i was totally relying on my quant score for a good overall gmat score. I prepared a little from the Official guide and a lot of free online material.
But i fared poorly in my first attempt. The most shocking part was my quant score. I never imagined I would get such a low score.
I didn't know where i was making mistakes. I researched online and finally signed up for the E GMAT quant online course. I wrote the ability test and that is when i realized my weakness. I was very bad at the data sufficiency questions. I really thought i was marking the right answers when in actual they were completely wrong.
E- Gmat has helped me a lot in improving my accuracy in quant. All the concepts have detailed explanations with practice quizzes to strengthen our understanding. I was able to strengthen my core concepts and now i am able to solve the 700+level questions easily. I can now solve all the data sufficiency questions accurately using E-GMATs step by step process.

I have scored Q48+ on an average on various mock tests and I am very confident of scoring the same in the main exam.

I would highly recommend E-GMAT Quant Online course to everyone who is struggling in quant. Along with the detailed explanations on various concepts, there are also a lot of practice questions in E-Gmat's scholaranium to improve accuracy and timing.

I started going through the online prep videos and was really impressed with the method of teaching.
One thing that I really liked was that the OG questions were divided and provided in each section.
The Scholaranium is also a pretty good tool, providing good graphic displays and ways to track your performance.
In a nutshell, e-Gmat is amazing and following the course step-by-step will certainly help in achieving good score.

Really good and thorough course to crack GMAT

I jumped into course after had gone through the MGMAT books, because I felt that I am not really familiar with all the necessary concepts to crack the verbal part. I like e-GMAT Verbal Online course very much. It is very structured, down to earth, and tackled one problem at a time. I really like the approach in general - once you finish theory, you get some practice quizzes, then review them, and finally get into final quizzes. While I was progressing through the course I was able to keep up with what I learned previously through the Scholaranium, which helped me to not forget everything. Overall, I believe the course worth what it cost and should be taken, especially by those who is not native.

By far the best Verbal course - EGMAT

September 17, 2017
  • Teacher: Krishna Chaitanya
  • Recommended forVerbal: Yes  Math: No
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 620 After: 670

My GMAT preparation began in Feb-17. I had already taken the GMAT in Sep-14 and scored a mere 620 - Q50 V25. Never in my mocks had I crossed a V27. I had read all the manhattan books multiple times and I was confident that my Sentence correction was strong. However, in the actual exam the level of questions was way harder than I had anticipated. I scored a mere V20 on the Verbal section for SC.

Then I read a review about e-GMAT and gave it a try. After watching the first 3-4 Video lectures, I was in love with the content. I could grasp the content much quicker and the content stayed longer in my head because of the Visual effects created by the company. I went through the recordings multiple times and solidified my concepts. The best part I liked about the course was the entire structure of the program. The course has various files such as concept files, application files and quiz files. This helps to solidify concepts even further. Lastly, after completing the pre-requisites, I attended the Live Sessions.

The Live sessions were extremely well organized, with questions covering various concepts. Moreover, the instructors are extremely patient and hats off to all of you to answer some of the most basic questions. The best part about the instructors is that they don't give out the answers too easily. They make you think, which aids to understand even better.

So after completing my SC section, I improved from a V20 to a V30 on my Sentence correction. I started solving the questions based on Sentence structure. I then moved on to my CR and RC sections. Having studied the Sentence Correction course, my reading improved drastically. I could understand the various pieces in a convoluted RC passage. The company uses "Verb-ing" and "Verb-ed" instead of the Traditional terms such as Gerunds/Infinitive/Appositive Clauses etc. This is key to remembering what each term is. Again, hats off to a well designed course and coming up with such easy to understand names.

Now without digressing any further, I took my first attempt in July -17. I got a 640 - Q49 v29. That's a 4 point improvement right off the bat. I was dejected and thought to give one more attempt. I went through all the files again and took another attempt in Sep-17. I scored a Q49 V32 - 670. I was delighted with the score because this was the first time I breached the V30 mark. I attribute this section largely to e-gmat. However, I hadn't done Scholarinium yet. I plan to take one more attempt in Oct-17 and practice on Scholarinium. I believe I can reach a v35.

In sum, had it not have been to e-gmat, I would always be lingering in the mid - 20s on my verbal section. This course provided me with a new path that the GMAT verbal is crack able. Persistence is the key and approach is necessary.

I hope you all give this course a whirl and see for yourself the improved self confidence you shall face while taking the actual exam.

I started preparing for GMAT in December 2016, and have been struggling ever since :)
After two months of Random Preparation and sort of reaching no where , a friend told me about E-GMAT.
I am a working professional and E-GMAT sorted of suited my Routine , as I could attend the Live sessions over the weekend and do the Prep Courses and view recording over the weekdays. So I instantly opted for E-GMAT.

I gave a Mock at the initial stage, and scored 530. Q43 and V22 .
After then I started preparing based on Courses in E-GMAT and they helped a lot . Starting from Basics to High End concepts , everything is covered in this E-GMAT course.
The Quant Course in Particular is Super amazing , as it brushes up your concepts, helps with the new concepts , and questions above 700 level.
Last week I gave mock a my score was 660 (Q48 and V33) . So I do have come a long way from 530 , but still have a long way to go.
Relying on E-GMAT for the help.
Hope you guys opt for E-GMAT as well !

Do well ! Best of luck :)

E-Gmat Verbal Solution for Non-Natives !

September 16, 2017
  • Teacher: Krishnya
  • Recommended forVerbal: Yes  Math: No
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 400 After: 660

I sat for the Gmat some months ago. I got a V34. I used the e-gmat verbal live prep for my verbal preparation. I highly recommend it. Especially if you are a non native and you have no experience of taking standardized tests, the egmat course is a must.

Based on the official guide, this course will efficiently and effectively help you score high. By the time my test was close i rush with my preparation and i didn't use all the help that the course offers. I didn't use the verbal workshop and i didn't use much of scholaranium. I think that if i had some more time to use them i would be able to score a lot better.

In Sentence Correction, they have the best course out there. Simple enough, the course teaches you the logic of these questions based on the meaning of each. They wont punish you to learn a ton grammar rules. They will teach what you need to know. Not more not less. I am highly satisfied from my SC performance after the course.
Especially for non natives the critical reasoning part is very helpful. They analyze every question in high detail in a way that you are certain how the system works. Practice hard through the OG and scholaranium to gain maximum score.

The Reading Comprehension part consists of effective reading strategies. They worked for me. Use them meticulously and practice hard. Remember the RC part needs a lot of practice. Dont underestimate this.

The course architecture is designed taking into consideration how the brain works. They will tell you what to do and when to do it in order to absorb the maximum in an easy way.

The videos are very interactive and easy to watch without tiring you. Very effective.

The live courses are just as amazing. They will help you arrange your study plan and see how other people understand the concepts through competition. The instructor is close to you and in the end of every lesson you can ask many questions and get a specialized answer. There are many batches that you can watch if you have an issue and cant follow some classes. You can easily find the same class in the next batch of lessons or watch the recording. The live classes are also a good source of sentimental help. We always need support in this journey.

One an only weakness is the email support. This is not to the level of the rest of the service. But don't worry about your questions about the concepts you can always ask them on the egmat forum where an instructor will answer soon enough.

Overall, great source for non natives, i would highly recommend it.

Saviour for Non natives

I came to know about e-GMAT through GMATClub. I was skeptical about a non-classroom course. Having taken classroom classes, I enrolled myself with one of the GMAT training centers but realized within a month that those classes couldn't take my score to the north of 700.

I thought of attending a webinar conducted by E-GMAT and was amazed by the teaching method and explanations given by the faculty. My apprehensions of attending an online course by an overseas company were taken care of. The clarity of concepts and the approach to solving the questions used by the Egmat team made me realize the need for meaning clarity and crystal clear concepts.

While my quants was decent, I thought of enrolling myself for the Verbal course. The video explanations of the OG questions and the articles were the most helpful in my preparation.
The course helped me to improve my SC accuracy from 70% to more than 90%. As a non-native student I have always focused on accuracy(as may be evident in my post), but e GMAT helped me realized the importance of ability. GMAT is not just about accuracy but more about ability.

Apart from the comprehensive course created by the team, scholarnium is the tool which helps the student push the score towards 40.

e-GMAT was the savior !!!

September 15, 2017
  • Teacher: Rajat Sadana

  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 560 After: 700

After my first attempt , I couldn't get myself to re-take the GMAT. I keep procrastinating for months as I was never too confident with my performance in the mock exams. My performance was not up to the mark to reach the magic score of 700. Eventually after assessing my performance , I realized that the kind of question set that need to be practiced affect your performance immensely in the actual GMAT. Hence after enough research , I came across the e-GMAT verbal/Quant online course. I heard of it from a friend who had improved a lot after taking the course.
Why e-GMAT ?
In GMAT , timing is really important . E-GMAT teaches you to use tricks and concepts to your advantage and improve your timing. The pre-thinking part in CR lectures if mastered as stated , saves a lot of time. Other shortcuts and tricks taught in the course are worth applying to finish your exam on time. Specially my favorite the SC course , great questions + detailed explanations , good tips n tricks to remember the rules was the cherry on top. Under the pressure of the actual exam it is really difficult to keep all rules on your finger tips , that is where the e-gmat tricks come in handy . They are not a struggle to remember and improves your performance tremendously.
Self- Paced course :
I am a working professional , taking out time to attend classes or group study was really difficult. e-GMAT self paced online course gave me the advantage of learning as per my schedule and convenience. I improved immensely in my mock performance after the e-GMAT course.
Question Sets :
I would like to EXPLICITLY state the scholaranium feature in the e-GMAT course has great question set for both verbal and quant. The questions are evenly divided and pop up in a similar adaptive fashion as the actual exam. After attempting the question set , I realized how important it is to practice even the concepts you are confident about in the right order. Even when you get a question wrong , the detailed explanation in the course corrects you then and there. The interactive course where you can question the instructor if the explanation is not clear is very helpful. My accuracy went up from 59% to 98% after attempting the e-GMAT verbal/quant questions.
While using e-GMAT , you do not need to work on your study plans if you follow the course in the order religiously. The application test after every foundation concepts reviews your performance immediately and incase required you can re-visit the concepts to master the tricks.
I strongly recommend e-GMAT's online course for its distinguished question sets for both verbal and the quant and the tricks and concepts taught in the verbal course as well. It is totally worth your time and money spent.

I would like to share my experience with this test prep company called e-GMAT. For people who are looking for help with GMAT preparation, which course to choose from there are several factors which you should consider before taking any course.

What do i understand about GMAT?
What is my current level if i had to appear for GMAT in next day?
What is my target score?
What is my plan for achieving that score?

So, once we have an answer for above questions, we are ready for our next move to learn how to crack GMAT. This very step can help you reach your goal faster if you choose the right TEST Prep Company. So make a wise move here.

Fortunately, while browsing on the internet i came across an ad saying free Webinar on GMAT Verbal. I just signed up. After, i signed for the webinar i got take the free ability quiz. I was clear then after taking the quiz that i need to go for this course.

Though i took complete Verbal and Quant Online Prep from them, you can choose from Verbal Live and Qunat Live depending whats your strength. Why did i choose e-GMAT Online Pep Course and what kept me motivated all the way long?

VERBAL

First Part:
e-GMAT Verbal Online Course:
This course Covers SC, CR & RC.
The base of the Course: Master Comprehension
The course begins with teaching how to read a sentence. This very key skill which many native english speakers struggle with sets the base for your GMAT verbal. I was never comfortable in reading long sentences until i came across this module. This module is very necessary for people like me who are not comfortable in reading long sentences and get the gist of it. Very honestly after completing this module i was able to get what the sentence wants to communicate. Unlike earlier, now i was a bit comfortable with Verbal. Personally, this very module helps in all the three sections of verbal.

Like every beginner who prepares for GMAT assumes that GMAT Verbal is all about grammar, I was no different. But as I approached learning the SC section, my assumption was wrong. Each section of GMAT Verbal is split into Blocks in e-GMAT course where each Block represents a step of the ladder. To climb to next level you need to understand the basic level and master it. The Complex GMAT Verbal ( which I initially assumed) is broken into several de simplified audio video lessons and are really easy to understand. When ever I did not understand any concept, I could immediately go to a forum where many previous students had a similar doubt and could get it resolved. If I was still not satisfied and didn't understand I could re post my question. Now comes the main feature. e-GMAT asks all its students to when asking on the forum to post their questions after presenting their analysis of the question. I could present as to what I understood and i how did i reject the incorrect answer choices.
It helped me in two ways.

If my correct and incorrect answer choices were correct and incorrect for other reasons that I hadn't specified, it would highlight those areas to me
If my answers to correct and incorrect answers were not right, then it pointed out what were the reasons for such errors that I had made.
Each block is then discussed in a Live section, where in the session we can develop strategies for mastering the block. I could identify what content of the block was I struggling with and to what needed more attention.
So before moving to next block i knew what level questions were easily coming to me correct and where to put more focus. This learning is key a contributor to my understanding of GMAT Verbal

The meaning based approach that is followed in e-GMAT SC ( actually after you complete Master Comprehension even you would start to tackle this section on the basis of the meaning) is brilliant. The POE is so methodical that every time I saw an SC question my mind first focused on getting the intended meaning of the sentence and then was left only with one or two choices at most.

CR:
The CR module presented in e-GMAT course follows some strategies that you must not have come across. The force on pre-thinking and understanding the argument well drawing a logical structure is the key to mastering CR. So this very skill is followed in every module of CR block. Like in SC module each CR module has certain application questions that test the concept that you have just completed. So one can focus individually to strengthen each concept. I really liked the CR Live sessions. The instructor Mr Krishna is brilliant. After I attend the session and tried solving the questions all I would think "How did krishna get the pre-thinking of the argument". Yes, prethinking takes a lot of practice and frustration comes because it's a very new skill that we are learning. But once we get the gist of it we get to crack CR. In one of the live sessions, i got to know that 65 % questions can be solved by getting prethinking.

YOU MUST ATTEND THE FREE LIVE SESSIONS OF CR ON ASSUMPTION if you want to understand what i am talking about.

RC:
Actually, RC in e-GMAT has certain key must know skills. The module goes strengthening and testing each skill and question type that we may face on GMAT. Actually, because i did Master comprehensions course all i needed was to imbibe the 7 key strategies that they teach.

Verbal Workshop & Scholaranium:
e-GMAT has a very nice way to give a feedback and help you achieve. The workshop is conducted after you have completed all the modules. Once you attend the workshop, you will know in which areas you are strong and weak. There are many questions for you to practice. The Ability quizzes are very close to real GMAT questions that you may encounter on your exam.

All in all This module has all that you need to master the Verbal of GMAT. You will certainly not need any other material to refer.
