Having not made the cut in the domestic MBA entrance tests like the CAT, I wanted to enroll for a course that would help me get better results in the GMAT exam.

eGMAT was definitely the perfect course for me because not only was it simple to understand it was also very comprehensive. The examples along with the supporting theory helps clear concepts quicker. The RC section approach not only help improve speed but also accuracy. Thanks to the eGMAT course my accuracy and speed have improved by more than 30 percent. Will definitely recommend this awesome course for all serious GMAT aspirants.

Perfect Verbal course for GMAT!

March 6, 2016
  • Teacher:
  • Recommended forVerbal: Yes  Math: No
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 640 After: 690

Hello! I would like to highly recommend e-GMAT for the verbal course.
I started my GMAT preparation by joining a reputed coaching center. From beginning itself, my weaker section was verbal hence I concentrated the most on this section.

I would say I was doing fairly well by the time I was going to take my GMAT exam. I was scoring between 38-42 in all four GMAT prep exams in the verbal section. However, in the actual exam I had to settle with a very low score of V 29. During post analysis of my exam, I understood that my biggest fault was my exam taking strategy. Other biggest mistake was my impression that my basics are clear in CR. However, I was really struggling in CR during the exam and surprisingly in SC as well, which was my biggest strength as per me. I understood that my basics and approach towards the problem was not correct.

I subscribed to e-GMAT Verbal course. The experience was fantastic. The interactive way of teaching with the presentations was quite effective. All the basics are covered very nicely. Along with that the teaching approach with "Pre- thinking" method is very helpful. Furthermore, the questions at the end of each topic and the detailed approach to solve the question helps a lot in understanding the approach.
Moreover, the question bank " Scholaranium" is one of the best things that I have found for verbal practice. The levels of questions are very good and resemble pretty much to actual GMAT. Along with that for me the biggest requirement was solutions to the problems. Scholaranium provided in depth solutions to all the problems with amazing "Pre- thinking" approach. I should surely mention the help we get from teachers in solving our doubts. The teachers are very strong in the sections and respond very quickly.

The result was a good jump to V34 in my second attempt. In my second innings also I was scoring between 38-40 in verbal section in GMAT preps but this time I was more confident in my approach to solve problems. I would say I could have got much better in verbal in my second attempt also but again I screwed up because of my glitch in exam taking strategy. But surely my confidence level and comfortness level with questions were much higher this time.

All the credit goes to e-GMAT!

My first attempt score was 640. Finally scored 690. Split as follows:
Q-49
V-34
AWA-6.0
IR-4

Just two days back received the R2 results of ISB and have got admit in ISB Mohali.:-)

Thanks and Regards,
Prateek

Success comes to those who work hard

I recently gave my GMAT and scored a decent 740 ( Q50, V39, IR: 6, AWA: 6). Although, I could have done better but I must say that this score wouldn't have been possible without e-gmat great verbal sessions.

I started my preparation back in October 2015 in a similar manner as any GMAT aspirant would. I took up the Manhattan guides for the Verbal section and went through each of them properly. Following this, I gave my 1st GMAT Prep exam and scored a 740. I was happy and thought I was ready to take the exam. I had bought a KAPLAN guide for practice and their tests. I decided to give a few before making an appointment for GMAT. I scored a dismal 670 in my first test and after analysis of the same, I realised that I had got only superficial knowledge in Verbal section. I went online to review a full courses and ended up taking e-gmat Verbal online. Believe me, but that was one of the best decisions that I made in my GMAT journey. Their courses are very thorough and the supplementing articles are very informative. Their approach to understand the meaning first of any stem was essential and it proved very useful.
Their approach towards SC and CR was really very useful and although I think I could have scored much better, this score wouldn't have been possible without the kind of resources that e-gmat provided.

Kudos to you guys!

e-GMAT Verbal online course helped me build confidence to write the GMAT Verbal section . I understand the basics now . It provides a technical approach to non-native speakers in order attack the verbal section .I would say you should try this invaluable tool from the beginning of your GMAT prep so that you gain the most. The course doesn't bombard you with multiple jargons. Instead it provides it own naming convention which is easy to understand and can be easily put to practise during the exam. The course is quite exhaustive and no other material is required for your preparation apart from official guides. Best of Luck !

Although i was good at quant , but i was not able to score beyond 48 . E-gmat quant course helped me in two ways :

1. Revise all my quant portion.
2. Increase my score from 48 to 50.

This is definitely a good source to build your concepts and practise. the quant course is exhaustive and I don't think anybody will need any other books apart from the official guide. The UI is very interactive and you don't get bored while working on the course. I would say Egmat guys have developed a new way and innovative way to teaching.
Use this course from the beginning of your prep to gain maximum advantage. Best of Luck!

My Experience with E Gmat

Hi there!!
I had been contemplating to write this post for quite some time now. And after putting in months of effort in preparations towards the GMAT, I believe this is the right time to share my views.
I believe that this review is likely to help you guys in deciding on a Quality prep course.
Firstly, I would present a brief background regarding my journey into prep for the GMAT. I took my GMAT on 15 Sep 15 and scored a 650(Q50, V 28), which was way below my target.
After days of self introspection, pondering what went wrong, I arrived at a number of facts that helped me to improve my performance consistently over the next few months in the Verbal section, without letting the guard down in the Quant.
The greatest reason for my respectable quant score was PRACTICE and ONLY PRACTICE. There is no greater GURU MANTRA to the fact that PRACTICE makes you PERFECT or at least pushes you to closer to your target score. The fact that I never felt comfortable with Verbal made me sway towards my stronger sections(Quant). Sometimes, I felt that I would rather attempt four Quant sections back to back rather than face one Verbal section. Thus, I inferred the only reason for my low Verbal Score was lack of practice.
I had read some great reviews for the E Gmat Verbal Live prep course and I chose the same as a companion in the prep journey. Looking back I feel that, it was a right decision to enroll for the course and the results seem much apparent now. Not only have I developed a stronger accuracy but also developed an understanding on the concepts tested. I strongly recommend the course to anyone out there contemplating on ?which course to choose?. I recommend the course because of the following reasons:-
A) Concept Building. The course is very well structured and the concepts that are taught in the course do not leave any page unturned. At the end of the course one is equipped with all the ammunition one needs to attack the real test.

B) Live sessions. This is probably the most useful feature which help one bridge one?s gap in prethinking. These sessions add such an intangible skill to one?s approach to question that it cannot be over emphasized.

C) Scholorarium. This question bank is a resourceful tool that takes one further closer to a great score by ensuring adequate QUALITY practice.

D) Commendable customer support. The E-Gmat team is a great team. They were keen in addressing any issues faced by me in the quickest possible time. The company accords priority to students over business. So it has been a very satisfactory experience for me.

My last words of advice are as follows. Its true that Practice is important but it?s very important to remember that GMAT is a time bomb. Had one had an entire day, one would have scored a perfect 800. But working in time pressure is equally important. Therefore :-

(a) Practice to build accuracy first and not timing.
(b) Practice till prethinking becomes a second nature to you.
(c) If you are starting to prepare, don?t pick up ?Wren and Martin?(I see many of my friends doing that). It?s a waste of time. The content of the course is adequate to get you to your dream score.
(d) Building concepts is as equally important as practice, so ensure that all gaps in your understanding are addressed before moving to scholorarium.
(e) Don?t let your guard down in your strongest areas. For example if you are good in Quant or Sentence correction, don?t stop practicing them but maintain your accuracy in those sections. You will realize that concentrating on your strengths will help you save time in the test for the difficult sections.
(f) Lastly, consistency is the key, practice daily and ?Thou shalt fathom the unbelievable?

Cheers !!

- The course teaches you logical procedure to approach the SC, CR and RC questions

- They stress the importance of meaning. The meaning first approach is crucial especially when you are tackling high-level (hard) questions

- It is e-learning course and that makes it even more effective.

Though my fundamentals are clear, still I was lagging in many sections. So, I decided to join e-gmat quant.

e-mat has well defined course content and new concept of presentation that gives me confidence in the advanced and hard questions. They cover all kind of concept and questions
(easy to hard) which built up my confidence. Course content having lots of practice questions and much more.

So, I really recommend this course to every gmat students.

I am yet to take the GMAT exam, it's scheduled on 2nd of April '16. What I particularly liked about the course is the format in which the content is presented to the user. It's goal oriented and one can't jump into the next content without successfully finishing the present module. I really loved this because it aligns to my style of learning. I chose this product, I'm a non-native speaker, based on the reviews on given on GC and would request all the aspirants to check it out. The team will revert in one working day. Thank you.

The best verbal course for non-natives at best price

The e-gmat online verbal course is one of the best courses for verbal prep. It is a comprehensive course covering commonly tested topics on the GMAT. The online section is divided into various easy to understand modules. It is recommended that you follow the study plan outlined in the course work for best results. It took me around 6 weeks to cover the online modules for all the 3 sections CR, SC and RC. It is advisable to pay special attention to the OG questions. It isn't just enough to answer question correctly in 2 minutes. You need to be certain about why your answer is right or wrong. And this is where I think e-gmat is fantastic help. The answers to OG questions by e-gmat are very detailed. Analysis of these questions will strengthen your concept and help you in solving the problem efficiently. The e-gmat 3 step process though might seem time consuming in the beginning finally helps in improving the accuracy. I scored a 40 or more in SC in my 2 gmat attempts, thanks to the e-gmat process.
Coming on to the CR section. Again the section is divided into easy to understand modules. Each module represents a basic question type. Remembering the question type helps you in identifying and attacking a CR question in the most efficient way. As CR was and still is my weakest section I paid extra time in understanding the concepts by going through the CR modules more than once.
RC section is pretty standard and techniques if followed in totality will help you in improving accuracy. For RC section I used a mix of tactics that I learned from e-gmat and Manhattan. It was undoubtedly the most challenging section for me to master.
Another very unique and important part of the verbal course are live class room sessions. To attend these classes one must be thorough with the online course work to be covered in the live class. Treat live classrooms more as concerts to your favourite music band. The more you know about the band the more you will get out of the class. The live classes stress on concept building and helps you navigate your preparation in the right direction.
Lastly I would want to mention a few words about the tool I loved the most. Scholaranium by e-gmat is an excellent last mile prep tool for your gmat studies. I would suggest that one should start using scholaranium after completing the entire course work. Scholaranium mini tests will help you in identifying your weak areas on which you could further work upon to improve your score.
Overall e-gmat live verbal prep is an excellent course. I supplemented the e-gmat coursework with Manhattan verbal guides and Aristrotle prep. You might choose to do other courseworks on the basis of time available to you however I must say that of all these very good sources I found e-gmat to be the most comprehensive and easiest to understand. I would recommend this course to any gmat student who is a non-native.

Finally a course online that helped me sail through the GMAT journey and reach my target!!!

I am a non-native speaker from India working in an IT firm. The idea of giving GMAT struck me last year, looking at the options and prospects that open post MBA. Being from an engineering background, I was thrilled looking at the Quant syllabus and the difficulty level of the question in GMAT. I was quite sure I would definitely nail this exam , provided I put some extra efforts in the verbal section; something I felt I was not that confident about compared to the Quant section.
For the next 2 weeks, I skimmed through various blogs, portals, etc and planned a timeline of 3 months for myself, which I felt would be sufficient for me to crack the GMAT. Being a working professional, i was sure I would need minimum of this much time to cover and master the entire syllabus.
Quant was never an area of concern, so I just focused on the verbal section. I used the whole Manhattan series to cover the portion. To my utter dismay, I was still stuck in the early 600s in my mocks, even after going through all the concepts and practicing the OG completely. After 3 months of rigorous efforts, finally the date of exam arrived, and the result was no different from what the mocks indicated. Scored a 640(V28, Q49) I was completely demoralized and shaken, as I had never imagined I would end up scoring so poorly even after so much of efforts.

Post GMAT, I tried but couldn't stay away from analyzing what exactly went wrong in the process. I came across the forum, where I found reviews about eGMAT and stories very much similar to mine and how eGMAT helped students to make their GMAT dream come true. I signed up for one of their free trial lectures that happen on the weekend. The class was enough for me to realize that I fell short at so many places, even in an easy concept(atleast I thought so) like subject verb agreement. It completely made me look at GMAT exam from a different perspective. I couldn't wait , so I immediately reached out to Mr. Rajat from eGMAT, to discuss on queries regarding GMAT, and that very conversation on mail gave me the comfort feeling.

I immediately signed up for the Verbal Live Prep, that also guaranteed a point improvement guarantee , which no other programs or courses gives you. There are few things which I realized as the course progressed:
1.) Its not the amount of effort that matters, but the quality of learning . The study material is very enlightening and high on quality. I was surprised that there were so many things I had missed out in my 1st attempt.
2.) Heavy emphasis on application of concepts. The application files are phenomenal. There is so much of original practice questions, very similar to the GMAT level. Something that you wont find anywhere else on net except the GMAC OG.
3.)Flexibility due to access to video lectures online.
4.) Great support and concept clearing by eGMAT team. The weekend sessions and workshop are real eye openers with the discussions that take place. Lot of concepts get cleared.
5.) The whole team is so helpful and make you feel that they have taken up as their personal goal to make sure you cross the 700 mark.
6.) Scholaranium is such a value addition.

I have already raised my score from V28 to V36 consistently in mocks and plan to touch the 39-40 mark as I feel even this is do-able with eGMATs course material and support.
I just felt that this review would be very much helpful for all those like me still wondering where they went wrong. This course is an investment for your future, I believe.
Would let all of you know how I performed in my final GMAT. I still have a month left for that.

Cheers.

Overall I was very happy with the Egmat course. The materials they provide do a great job of walking through the different question types and explaining how to most effectively answer each question. Additionally their online resources are great and easy to use. I was able to thoroughly explain how to attack each question. I would recommend this course to anyone and think that it was a great way to prepare for the GMAT.

I took the verbal online course 6 months back, and this course has been very beneficial in my preparation. My area of weakness was the verbal section of GMAT. E-GMAT diagnostic tests helped narrow down the sub-topics that needed more attention.
My performance in mocks has also improved. There has been a drastic improvement in my verbal ability especially for Critical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. I am still polishing my skills in Sentence Correction before I plan to take further mock tests
This ability quizzes are part of the Scholaranium tool offered by e-GMAT which gives the true estimate of your weaknesses by providing detail statistics. Also, for each attempted question you get analytics of the percentage correct attempts and the average time spent for each question. This quite helps in assessing the time we spend on each question based on its difficulty.
I will surely recommend this course to GMAT aspirants.

Essential for a high Verbal Score !

February 23, 2016

  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 620 After: N/A

My first attempt at GMAT yielded an unsatisfactory score of 680.At first I was very surprised by the score. I had expected more in verbal (I got an unimpressive 32) since I had practiced a lot from various books (OG 15,16. Manhattan Prep) and even completed an online course (GMAT Tutor). I just could not figure out what went wrong in my preparation - Did I require more practice? Was it because of lack of practice in exam conditions ? - All these questions were flying around in my head for almost a month. That was when (after browsing various websites) I heard about the E-GMAT Verbal Online Course. In the beginning I was hesitant to invest in another online course. Finally, I decided to give it a try. And let me say that I, had a revelation! I realized exactly what went wrong in my preparation. I was going about it all wrong ! Previously I only concentrated on practice without knowing any set approach. I was unaware of most of the rules / strategies that were involved in securing a high verbal score.

The e-GMAT Verbal Online course has the most comprehensive walkthroughs of all the strategies for SC , CR and RC. And best of all, every concept is taught in video. It perfectly simulates the classroom environment with 'Ask a Tutor' options (Although the instructor was so competent that I never needed them). The instructor in the videos was fluent and very clear during the lessons. The post assessment quizzes were very effective in revising the concepts.

My weakest section in Verbal had always been CR where I had an accuracy of less than 40% in most mock tests . After gong through e-Gmat I can proudly say that I am on the road to improvement as accuracy in CR has increased to 80-90% in the recent mock tests (Veritas, 800score). The techniques, such as Negation, are extremely effective in solving most hard CR questions. From e-GMAT I learned the importance of proper logical structure and Pre-Thinking. Not only do they decrease the time taken to eliminate incorrect choices but they also increase the understanding of the passage.

In SC, I always had a problem remember the numerous rules for eliminating incorrect answer choices. E-GMAT has the same rules (after all, grammar is grammar) , but at the same time it implements proper logic. Each and every aspect of grammar that is tested in GMAT is covered.I am now able to solve SC questions efficiently and confidently.

In RC , e-GMAT highlights all the strategies that are necessary to tackle even the most boring/difficult passages. The time I spent / wasted on analyzing most passages has been reduced significantly after following the guidelines provided by this course.

Overall, I would conclude that the e-GMAT Verbal Online is extremely effective for people who desire a good verbal score. It deserves no less than 5 stars !!

The right approach to tackling GMAT Verbal

February 22, 2016
  • Teacher:
  • Recommended forVerbal: Yes  Math: No
  • GMAT ScoresBefore: 670 After: N/A

I would like to share my experience on the Verbal Live Prep Course of e-GMAT with the aspiring GMAT test takers. e-GMAT's methodical process to attempt the verbal section not only breaks down the question for the test-taker but also helps us identify where we went wrong (this is crucial as later you can work on correcting your approach). Here's my individual take on the different components of the verbal live prep-
1. The lessons
The lessons have been broken down into simple concepts (20 minutes video). You start with real basic day to day examples to understand the subject. The concept is later embedded into your mind by applying it on small length questions. Only after you complete certain pre-requisites you are allowed to move further. (This again ensures that you aren't skipping the process and quickly skimming through the most important part of learning)
2. Scholaranium
In one of the strategy sessions, Rajat mentioned how it was important to test your ability and improve on it in order to improve your score. The Scholaranium tool does exactly that! It helps you identify your weak areas, and gives you ample amount of questions to improve on it. I have used other GMAT learning products but nothing has come close to Scholaranium in helping me identify my weak areas.
3. Live Sessions
These sessions play an important part in your step-2 of your prep. Once you have learned and understood the concept, the live sessions help you tackle 700 - level questions. The tutors break down the questions with such ease that you can't help but have faith in the 3-step process. :)
Another aspect that I really like about the live session is how the tutors are patient to answer every doubt and proceed only after the students have grasped the right understanding. In one of the sessions, we were made to write down the reason for the rejection of the answer choices. Shraddha went through every answer written down and gave us the feedback on whether we rejected the choice for the right reason.

The support staff is very co-operative in answering your questions. I had to unlearn, re-learn and then apply the 3-step process. If you are a non-native speaker, I highly recommend taking the Live Prep Course. The process of studying for GMAT has been fun.

E-GMAT verbal is really sound tool for all who want to improve Verbal part of the GMAT in short period of time. For example, my result is from V32 to V39.

Study materials are well sorted and delivered to users in a very understandable manner. Moreover, I personally enjoy the electronic format of studying instead of having heavy books. Reading the text from the screen puts you in exam format while studying.

E-Gmat is the most innovative tool for the GMAT preparation I have met, and it is perhaps the best solution for affordable price on the market.

This is my 3rd attempt at the exam and I took the e-GMAT for the 2nd and the 3rd attempts. I have witnessed a 17 point improvement in my Verbal score from a 23 on my first attempt to 40 in my third attempt. Even though I didn't do as expected in my 2nd attempt, I knew that the under-performance in 2nd attempt was more down to my failure to perform in the test. The easy explanation with the help of slides helps one to understand complex topics. A diagnostic test at the end of each topic helps you assess your understanding of the topic. The newly introduced Scholaranium provides ample practice to master the skills learnt while going through the modules. However, the best judge of my performance was the Verbal Workshop in which I scored a 99 percentile indicating that my preparation was on the right track. The faculty at e-GMAT has always been extremely helpful. One always wonders how doubts will be cleared when attending online courses, but the faculty at e-GMAT has al ways been prompt in replying to any doubts that I have mailed to them. I ended up with a 710 in my 3rd attempt. However, I intend to give one more attempt in hopes of improving my score one last time. I'll definitely be asking for an extension for my online course.
